  1. I thought of something interesting:

You know the popular trope in zombie flicks that if you get bitten or scratched just once, you'll turn into a zombie? Barring immediate amputation of the bitten area of course.

Suppose that wasn't true. What if instead of automatically being doomed to an unlife of zombieism, you had a chance of receiving a "dry bite"?

This is something snakes occasionally do. When you're bitten by a venemous snake, there's sometimes a chance you get a dry bite- a bite without venom. But there's a difference between venom and the zombie plague.

The odds aren't great of course. Maybe like 20% you'll survive or less. Even if you do survive, you'll still feel like crap and look like you're dying until you fail to reach the last stage, which is death. The only way to tell you're going to become a zombie is when you actually become a zombie.

Suppose your friend or a family member got bitten, then. Do you quarantine them and use valuable supplies when the odds are great that they'll become a zombie anyway? Or do you mercy kill them at the start, knowing that there's a chance of them recovering? If the latter, would you lie awake at night, wondering if you killed a soon to be zombie, or your buddy who was going to recover?

I think this dry bite idea is a lot more frightening than "if you're bitten or scratched you're dead."

I'm not really that big into the zombie genre of fiction. A little goes a long way for me.

...Has fiction created flying zombies yet? Is that a thing? I've seen zombies that can run.

Technically? They did make a really bad movie called “Flight of the Living Dead” where there’s zombies in an airplane but they survivors all have guns and the unlimited ammo cheat on.

Dry bite, wet bite, doesn’t matter. We bought enough toilet paper to last us till world war 4.
