  1. I think if you also brought up Link's Awakening, those who would accuse you would then back away admiring the fact you like LA so much. There's certainly lots to like about Twilight Princess. I wouldn't go as far as calling it the best game, but the "true fans" can look past its roots in satisfying "the Wind Waker haters" and find some interesting things underneath the surface.
  2. It's definitely come into its own recently. There's lots of good downloadable games like Pushmo and Mighty Switch Force (for the speed-run freaks) and applications like Swapnote and Nintendo Video, the retail library provides some solid entertainment (some of which is very cheap now), and established Streetpass groups will give you plenty to do in Mii Plaza and other compatible games. Even the Friends List is more efficient now. If you can get the money together, you won't regret it. Oh yeah, and Four Swords Anniversary Edition is still free, so get on it if you want that.
  3. Absolutely. Anyone who owns a 3DS, unless they really just don't care for Resident Evil, would be well advised to pick it up.
  4. So this one just came to my attention via Radio Trivia on NWR: Sonic Unleashed. For all the flack this game gets about the night stages, it has a remarkable soundtrack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R_nbFIpzuE And hey, What the Heck? Let's play some Earthworm Jim music!
  5. So I just finished the Resident Evil demo for the first time, and it's well worth the space on your SD card. The visuals are just as impressive on screen, though there is the seldom issue with the screen resolution. If you're going to play this one with the 3D on, you can also increase the depth in the options menu (I'd recommend "very strong). Definitely play this one in the dark, not only for the spine-tingling moments but so things don't get washed out by outside light. There are plenty of said moments to be had navigating this ship, and I never found the controls to be a hindrance to the experience. A run button might have been nice, but I can live without it (hopefully ). If you really don't want to buy a Circle Pad Pro yet, this scheme works. Incidentally, this demo is CPP-compatible. Make no mistake: This a classic RE game at its core. For one, the knife is your best friend here. If you've played through the demo already, I've got a question for you: Where did you die the first time playing the demo? I died right around the blade-armed zombie upstairs. I think my mistake was not using the grenade on the mob in the previous room, because then I didn't have enough ammo. Oh well, die and learn.
  6. If the tickets are magic, does that mean tickets are friendship?
  7. Get acquainted with this video. You'll be spending all night with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjSWX7frJOI
  8. So it looks like the stakes are a bit higher than we initially realized: Whoever wins the cider making competition wins Sweet Apple Acres. http://www.equestria...ueezy-6000.html Of course the Apple family keeps it or else we'd have some weird subplot through the rest of the season where the Apple family has to stay with Twilight in her tree or something, and I doubt we'd see that. Still, I the pressure's on.
  9. The time for BronyLAnd is still undetermined, but it is happening. I'll bring up more info as it's revealed. All our events are proposed on our meetup.com page for that very reason, at which point I make an event page on Facebook for it. Generally, meetup.com and social networks are good places to check for brony events.
  10. For this entry, I'm going with a Game Freak theme. First off, something I hope surfaces in the 3DS VC in the future: Drill Dozer! More than the power it provided, this exhilarating tune made me want to obtain the 3rd gear in each level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrpoqgIG28I I'll close with my absolute favorite Pokémon music ever, the Surf theme from Gold/Silver/Crystal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP0m-PJozWo
  11. Rather than run down a whole list right now, I'll keep coming back as I think of things. First off, there's been a disturbing lack of stuff from the Xenoblade soundtrack. I'll be fixing that right now: For the other half of this time, I'll turn the attention to a very underrated OST: Sonic 3D Blast for the Saturn/PC.
  12. It's official: Southern California is having a bronycon! It's still in the works, but it's looking like the final name will be BronyLAnd since it takes place in Los Angleles. There's only two pages covering the event at the moment, our Facebook and Google + pages, so like/circle them and stay tuned for more info. You can also check our meetup.com page. http://www.facebook....249882388417283 https://plus.google....21091177502517/ http://www.meetup.com/SoCalBronies/
  13. That would probably be better, but just some kind of team sport. I mainly said baseball because I just got finished seeing Moneyball.
  14. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner: Ponyville forms a baseball team for a one-off match with Canterlot or some other city/town. Twilight is the manager, and Applejack is the coach. I could see Fluttershy being her usual timid self when they start training and have her do this incredible home run during the game. Rarity could also put up a huge fuss about the uniforms, and Rainbow Dash could be the one who needs to learn there's no "I' in team. Pinkie could be a natural due to her Pinkie Sense. Perhaps best of all, though: Since the team will require more ponies, this episode can give background ponies more on-screen time and perhaps even speaking time. (Side-Thought: Wouldn't it be funny if Lyra and Bon Bon were the pitcher and catcher?) This would also give the announcer pony from Sonic Rainboom an excuse to return. Just saying.
  15. I, for one, think Discord's plan is still in motion. Though he himself is stuck in stone, there could be somepony on the outside preparing to release him so he can carry his plan beyond the borders of Ponyville. Too, beside the surprise at the elemental jewels shooting things, under these circumstances he could have been putting them on a bit. Being sealed for a time is a small price to pay for spreading chaos, so he went through the motions and convinced the mane 6 he was ultimately defeated. This is supposed to be the mastermind villain anyway, so it seems like a natural setup for him. As for when he'll be released, I think we're quite a ways off from that.
  16. This proposal is about as ridiculous as this comment I read on My Nintendo News where the person said they wanted to see a Wind Waker sequel with an adult Link and darker tone. I'll give you a moment to properly facepalm that. If any of the mane 6 were Eyore, though, it would probably be Fluttershy. This isn't because of any depression but rather her mostly passive and quiet nature. Even then, she's more like Piglett. My biggest problem with this theory: What's Winnie the Pooh without Tigger, who matches Pinkie perfectly? Would you have him be the new depressed guy in Eyore's absence?
  17. Eeyup. SonofMrPeanut, that's me, who joined the 3DS Forums back in August 2010 just got a 3DS today. FC: 4339-3120-6417
  18. No matter what this episode delivers, I can safely say this is the best episode name they've ever come up with.
  19. I'm hoping we'll spend much of the episode seeing her wherever she's run off to, and the "looking for her" thing would be more of a b-plot. Even if that isn't the case, I'll trust them to make it work.
  20. Still entertaining, though. Just rewatched ThunderLOLcats the other day, and I laughed just as hard at every reference. Apple Craig forever!
  21. That distinction has to go to Look Before You Sleep, mainly due to how uncharacteristically dumb Twilight was. It was hard to invest in the situation when I couldn't get over her obliviousness to even the simplest things. Plus, I really want to give her a sock in the jaw when she says "It's the rule" in that....tone. XP I will say I don't mind the episodes that have more predictable endings like "May the Best Pet Win," given I'm in it for the ride rather than the destination. It's a bit like a Roadrunner cartoon (going to be quoting Derek from Classic Game Room Undertow here): You know what's going to happen, you know how it's going to happen, but you watch anyway. Why? Because the shorts are well-made in the first place, they draw in an audience. Again, I could say the same for quite a few of the MLP episodes that are guilty of this. I'd actually put this in the same category as "sketch comedy shows using recurring characters. It's inhuman to come up with 100% new material every week, so they have as much of a right to reused characters as any cartoon is to more formulaic plots. I do enjoy the more uncertain episodes like "Lesson Zero" immensely, though.
  22. Okay, it's been long enough. The Great and Powerful Trixie and Prince Blueblood get a radio show! Can't wait until the next VS. Going to read "The Best Night Ever" tonight.
  23. Hm....I would guess the plot involves Trollestia somehow.
