I wouldn't think it was the character herself, because she's not a pony. I just thought she was a ponified version of Madame Foster. I'm curious to see how those old ponies will be used. -

More importantly, Lauren Faust was the animation director (among several other things) on that show. Her husband, Craig McCraken, created it as well as The Powerpuff Girls which she also worked on. If this is a ponified Madame Foster, it's a nod to her past. -

Well, I do like me a good hard, driving rhythm. All the new visuals are also fun for us fanfolk, and the voices are closer to their respective characters. Plus, nothing is actually missing from the theme, so I automatically like it. However... The synth horns in the beginning completely cover the "ah-ah-ah-ah" we've all grown so fond of. It can still be heard on headphones, and since I'll watch the eps most of the time on YouTube that works, but it's still a sticking point I won't find myself overlooking too easily. Otherwise, though, I'm all for this. It still retains the charm of the original theme, and the more modern sounding touches don't diminish the end result. -

Since it takes guts to be open about this (mostly due to ignorance we hope to correct), I thought it would be appropriate to share this letter I found in the issue of Game Informer that showed up today. To paraphrase the moral of Dog and Pony Show, just because ponies look frilly doesn't mean they don't kick ass. BTW, Mario isn't flashing because of a Star. He got caught in a Sonic Rainboom. -
