      If you can't talk to them well, don't.
      Just patiently listen to them and wait until it is your time to reply.

      Find ways of doing that little by little and you'll get better at it.
      Worked for me :D

      Do remember that successful communication is a two-way thing. Just because a conversation makes you feel like you're self-centred doesn't mean that your supposed 'self-centredness' is why the conversation broke down.

      Rather, the conversation may have broken down because you felt like you were being self-centred. That is not the same thing and it is not necessarily your fault.
