  1. It's happened. We're finally there. We're finally at a point where I can use this meme unironically. @Jeric get in here and suffer this with us
  2. Art and fanfiction are still noticably active even now, but fan music used to be plentiful and varied. There used to be dozens upon dozens of mainstream artists doing all sorts of work. Now it's more like four to six big names and a lot of lesser known musicians.
  3. IDW has been absolutely killing it with the Sonic comics after taking them over from Archie, so I don't think expecting poor quality is particularly fair. Going to see what they do before I make decisions. I've never understood people who sign off without even trying something, personally. Opinions should be formed from the content, not the premise. Premises are often influenced by the parent company. The story itself is what IDW's writers are actually responsible for. Taking an idea that has ulterior motive to sell toys or grab attention (such as returning a popular character) and crafting a good story with it is part of what it means to be a writer for professional media. Sure, sometimes it doesn't work out, but other times it does. No one's gonna find out which from knee jerking to a premise.
  4. Have cute sister hugs to brighten your day, fellow Pipp fan. :oh_golly:

    As seen here!

  5. "She's 280." "Okay." "We have to charge tax so it's actually $302, is that fi—" "Yes." @Pathfinder of Ash shares the sentiment. Show em oh deer
  6. This episode was great simply because we got to see Zipp being a great big sister. The look on Pipp's face when she was able to style her sister's mane, and Zipp's little nod and 'mhmm'.
  7. My favorite of the four for obvious reasons. I came into this series expecting another Pony Life, which I did not care for, so my responses have been mostly positive. We get cute sister moments, I like. Simple as that. I like how Zipp doesn't like being in photos or videos, at least in situations where she's already embarrassed. Let's have some moar bounce gif to celebrate.
  8. Four episodes in and there's already a plethora of cute moments to spur on the fandom and its creativity. For a YouTube short series, that's more than I was expecting. I have grander expectations for Make Your Mark, but for what this is, it does it fine, and unlike Pony Life it doesn't exhaust me and lose my interest. Also I'm excited my girls got a cute sister episode right in the first batch.
  9. Normally I cut my hair around this length. But Babscon is in two weeks and papi needs his mane intact.
  10. Oh boy, Scoob, like, we haven't used this one in a little bit! Welcome to these fine horse forums. Mind your step and keep an eye out for falling frogs.
  11. I love this. Love the expression. Zipp seems to be very inexpressive most of the time, at least in the context of full blown happiness or giddiness, but I think this would be one of the instances where she can't help herself.
  12. For as long as corporates drive the development of shows instead of giving creatives the room to craft. The only content corporates understand is demographics, trends, and easily recognized stereotypes.
  13. Sign of the times unfortunately. Something tells me Hasbro wouldn't be trying to catch lightning in a bottle with that formula if Instagram and TikTok hadn't made micro videos a thing. It became such a thing that now YouTube has a Shorts feature, and other apps are doing similar things. Hasbro is just chasing the money, chasing what's trendy like what companies do. I believe their spokesperson admitted about as much in the previous trailer—that TYT is designed to be put out fast and regularly to squeeze everything they can get out of the YouTube algorithm. At the end of the day this is essentially G5 Pony Life, so my expectations aren't that high. I reserve that for the September show, which is adventure-based, not comedy-based, and has the same animation as the movie. The comics look like they could be good too.
  14. Zipp is objectively best pony. She's a chill, athletic jock and is good at science and math. She's crossed wires that most characters only dream of doing. She literally doesn't need anyone else for anything, but mingles with the mortals anyway because she's just that cool. Also her sister is cute and I live for seeing them. Izzy is a more level headed Pinkie with super strength so she is an acceptable alternative choice, but since she doesn't have a cute sister (yet?) she loses every time imo. Thems the rules
  15. On top of running a town, Hitch paid off his mortgage according to Sprout so he's nowhere south of late twenties imo. Easily early thirties even. Thing is, Sunny and Sprout cannot be far behind Hitch because they were all the same size as foals. If Hitch is, say, thirty, Sprout and Sunny can't be more than a few years apart, say late twenties. Past that, I think Izzy is our middle age contender, with Zipp and then Pipp. Hitch > Sunny > Sprout > Izzy > Zipp > Pipp if I had to guess.
  16. Silver Spoon had less character development overall. She was a petty beeyotch trying to be trendy until one day she was like ugh nevermind. Tiara got three songs and an excuse for her bs through her mother. How excusable that is is debatable but it's way more than SS got. Tiara
  17. Done and done. Been a while since I've done one of these, too. I would never have the patience for running this sort of clerical analysis—I love analyzing, but only about the creative universes of shows, books, games, and other media. As soon as we hit real life I zone out from boredom. So I appreciate those who take the time to gather data like this. It's definitely worth gathering. (casually glances to the side) By the way, @Ziph The Changeling, we're friends now just fyi. All buggos are friends, and I seem to have now spotted a new one.
  18. I want Zipp to love and protect her. Give me my cute sibling relationship momentsss
  19. You're getting vibes because they're right. Tell Your Tale essentially is G5 Pony Life. But that's fine. Make Your Mark, coming in September, matches the movie animation and is adventure focused. That'll likely be the 'main' show for most.
  20. Hello once again MLP Forums. NavelColt here with another major fanfiction milestone. April marks my 10th year anniversary as an MLP fan, with June being my first published MLP story. It was a story called My Sister, Loyalty, and it explored the idea of Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo becoming surrogate sisters before it became canon on Sleepless in Ponyville. I decided to write another story about sisters for my anniversary, except this time for Gen 5. (Click me~) With Zipp and Pipp's relationship currently strained, the sky is the limit on how the comics, shows, and any future films may decide to bring them closer. Let's play ahead of the curve once again. Art badge by Luximus17, and should you see me at Babscon you'll see it in person.
  21. My girl Zipp killing it with these stats. Kindness isn't even that low lol
  22. Blu ray and DVD box sets aren't quite dead yet, since streaming libraries gain and lose shows like this regularly. I imagine we'll be seeing some manner of physical release of all of gen 4. If anything, FiM leaving Netflix is even more incentive for Hasbro to try and cash in on that.
  23. Oh, you will get cards. And your rage shall feed the laughs of a thousand ponies. Hello, forumites! Once upon a time, I started a Playstation Uno club with @Dark Horse and @Jeric. We had two or three nights where we played synced Uno and talked over Discord. It has been some time since any of us have gotten around to this, so I thought we should provide a topic for PS Uno, in case anyone else would like to join the circuit. Mayhaps we can start organizing more game nights. If you own a late-gen Playstation console, own UNO on one of those consoles (or are now considering it), and are interested in playing with other forum members, share your Playstation gamertags here. You can also share your Discord tags, if you'd like to also join voice chat during games. Once we have an active list going, I'll start adding that info to the bottom of this initial post. My PS tag is Six-TailedNaruto, back from my teenager days of being an anime nerd. My Discord is N.Colt#2632. Please do not add me willy nilly, however, as I tend to regularly sift through contacts I don't regularly talk to. I'd be happy to add people prior to a given game night, instead. How about you?
  24. A long, long time ago I used to be an admin on here, but it's been so long that I doubt there's almost anyone left who remembers that era. Let me know when you do!
  25. ‘If my kind learned to create love for one another, maybe they wouldn’t have to take it from others.’ ~ Thorax, The Times They Are a Changeling Hello, MLP Forums. For those who don't know me, I was once an active forumite who found friendship and comraderie through this site in its early years. I attended my first fan convention because of this site and fandom, and even now, years after leaving the MLPF staff and existing as a ghost, I retain so many of the friends and acquaintances I made because of this fandom. After leaving, I began to focus my energy on writing. You see, a character was introduced who quickly rose to become my favorite character on the entire show. It was Thorax, and his role in the show evolved into something that spoke to me, inspired me past the context of an animated show I enjoy. I had a story to tell about Thorax, about the changelings, and the relationships they could now forge in a hive free of tyranny and selfishness. That was five years ago. Today, I've finished what I set out to write so long ago, and immortalized it in physical print. KoLB follows Thorax in his new role as the changeling leader, and more importantly, explores the role of 'caring patriarch' that he naturally begins to take on, both towards nymphs and adult changelings of the hive. His gentle, guiding hoof is just what the changelings need as they deal with the emotional immaturity born from feeling emotions rather than stealing them, for the very first time. It also follows Thorax's efforts to introduce the concept of peaceful changelings to Equestria, assisted largely by Twilight and the other princesses. I wanted to share this with all of you, not just because it's a cool FiM-related accomplishment, but because it is the greatest creative accomplishment of my adult life thus far. This fandom inspired my first book, in the same way that it inspired my first fan convention, and so many friendships I otherwise wouldn't have made. The King of Love Bugs can be found digitally on my FIMFic, and, if you so desire, can be purchased in print from my Lulu page. As a share-only link, please PM me for further information on the book. Anywho, that's my rant. This book, now technically fan merchandise, is full of feels and humor, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the changelings, or heartfelt storytelling. What a fandom this is, and what a journey this has been. I'm optimistic for what future generations may bring. Thank you for reading, everyone.
