As some of you may know, some time ago I claimed that I would be going through the MLP:FIM series, installment after installment giving each of them a review, going into depth with each's strengths and weaknesses and just giving my overall impressions, thoughts and opinions on the different features that each season brought to the table. I was really excited going into it and, I really wanted to contribute something something into a fan-base which, I'm sure has so many other people who are older than me and more experienced than me when it comes to the show. I haven't been a brony for nearly as long as many other people have been and combined with my love, enjoyment and enthusiasm for reviewing, debating and animation in general, it was an endeavor far too tempting not to take up.
However, off the bat, I realized that I'd perhaps bitten off more than I could chew. With 26 episodes in a Season, 7 of those seasons as well as all of the Equestria Girls movies and more, it was all just too much. I posted my Season 1 overview about 7 months ago and, I'm quite proud of it. I expressed what I wanted to and, for my first attempt at a professional review, it came out just like I wanted to. However, as time moved forwards and I started preparing my review for Season 2, which arguably as the fan-favorite season and one of the reviews that I was particularly looking forwards to, I became aware of a few...problems. And, the more and more that I pondered about these problems, more problems started coming to my attention. Too many problems for me to just go ahead and release the review regardless and, I started to realize that, perhaps my Season 1 review wasn't THAT good after all. I still have some affinity for it but...I don't know. And above all of the others, 2 problems in particular continued to irk me the more that I thought about them.
If you'll allow me to explain my primary concerns about continuing, the 1st issue that was a problem for the 1st review and, was only ever going to become more of an issue as time went on was time management. That review was extremely lengthy to watch and analyse every single episode of every single season, complete the initial draft on paper and then to copy that out digitally, it just took too much time. Overall, that review took, approximately 12 hours to complete and, it was only going to get worse from there. Look, I'm in my final year of Secondary School, my GCSE's are coming up rapidly and my entire future is riding upon them. I despise school work as much as any rational human teenager, but in these late stages I really do have to dedicate almost all of my spare time to revision, homework and making a secure future for myself. It's not optimal but, sadly it can't be helped right now. My 2nd issue was that, maybe it's my age, maybe it's just my personality but I came to discern that many of my opinions on the series in the first place came from a multitude of sources (reviewers, advice, the general opinion of of the episode among the fan-base) were fundamentally flawed. Many of my impressions on Season 1, for example, came from an experienced critic of animated shows, a man known as John Enter, known to the majority through his YouTube channel TheMysteriousMr. Enter (I believe that it's just on word ), a person who's opinion I had the utmost of faith in. But after a significant blunder of judgement on his behalf and the increase of age and knowledge opened me up to the fact that his opinion was not fact and was rather seriously flawed. And, the more that I thought about it, the more that I perceived that this same train of thought could really apply to any source of "wisdom" or "professional"input. The purpose of these reviews in the first place was to reflect ME and MY opinions about the series and, merely repeating what others said about the same entity added nothing to the fan-base that wasn't already there. I needed to become to sure about my own opinion and to realize that it was just as valid as anyone else's and that my lack of experience was irrelevant in the long run. I could do just as well as anybody else in this area. I need to return to these reviews with more confidence in myself, that's the bottom line. And, with these problems continuing to persevere, I had 3 options. To continue the series at a steady pace and for it to be a constant obstruction to my time and school work and to be completely unsure about it at the same time, ultimately possibly becoming a risk not worth taking, to half-arse it and to limp through each and every installment, making continuous delays and false promises to you all in the process, which is something that I really didn't want to do as I want these reviews to be something that I look back on with fond memories and satisfaction in the future. Or, lastly I could endeavor in a complete overhaul of the series, which is what I've ultimately decided to do.
So, what does that mean in terms of the near future of the series? Well, on the off chance that you enjoyed the little content that I have already posted, and want to see more of it, don't worry. I DO plan on not only continuing with the series, but also, perhaps re-doing and improving the installments that I have already put out there. However, it will not happen for some time, certainly not until I finish my GCSE's, which, hopefully will be in July. Even then, I can only give a general idea, time-wise. I'm not going to make any promises that I cannot keep, so all that I'm going to say is that it WILL happen some day, hopefully not too far from now. I sincerely apologize for letting down anybody who wanted to see this series continue in the present and for not giving any sort of explanation until this moment, I was just confused and unsure about what to do, this is new for me and I want it so desperately to be of a quality that I can be proud of. As always, appreciation for your patience and concern, this is Rarity the Supreme, and have a great night.
One last thing actually. Just something that I want to make clear before coming back, is the schedule that I'm going I'm going to follow, just so there are no surprises when they eventually do come into existence. Comprising of every season, movie and more:
    1) Season 1 (Yes, I will likely re-do it.)
    2) Season 2 (Same story as Season 1)
    3) Season 3 (Looking forward to this one.)
    4) Equestria Girls (I've said it before, but I will be taking a look at the Equestria Girls series as well.)
    5) Season 4 (My favorite season.)
    6) Rainbow Rocks
    7) Season 5 (The season that I've seen the most of.)
    8) Friendship Games
    9) Season 6 (Another controversial season.)
    10) Legend of Everfree ( Good times with this one.)
    11) Season 7 (Just a shame that it won't be new when I get to it.)
    12) Equestria Girls Specials (A bit of an anomaly when it comes to the series, but I do plan on reviewing it.)
    13) The Movie (The definitive installment, the one that I really want to get to.)
    14) Season 8 (Because, let's be honest, by the time I get to this stage it will have definitely have released.)
15-??) Whatever lies beyond this point.

Once again, here we are. Twenty-six episodes and two and a half months since I took it upon myself to teview the first season of the great animated show, My Little Pony: Freindship is Magic, a show that is the very reason as to why we have all congregated to this very website. I gave Season 1 a fairly positive review, a six out of ten to be exact, with the season having some fantastic gems that carried deep and interesting stories and morals as well as hilarious characters and humour and some terrible episodes that were the opposite of everything that I just described and made me want to curl up into a ball on my bedroom floor. Well, today I continue this marathon with a brief look at the show's second endeavour, a serie's favourite among fans. The same rules as last time still apply so if you have not seen my review on Season 1 prior to seeing this, then I would advise that you go back and take a look at it, just so that you know what is going on. With all of that out of the way, I present to you, My Little Pony: Freindship is Magic - Season 2, reviewed!

    1) " The Return of Harmony, Part 1 " - Damn, I wish that THIS had been the serie's introduction as opposed to what we actually got back in Season 1. THIS is how you do an interesting, lore-related conflict correctly. The villain, well he's Discord, one of the absolute best and funniest characters in the entire series, a delightfully random, bizarre, insane, yet somehow weirdly intimidating antagonist that completely makes this episode for me. Seeing all of the Mane 6 digress into malicious, evil versions of themselves was not only hilarious, but salsa drove the plot along smoothly and actually led to some rather emotional moments. Yes, I know that some people do like to nitpick about things such as Fluttershy's corruption, claiming that it was just the writers being lazy and not knowing what to do with it's characters but, for me at least, moments like this were always satirical enough for me to overlook the particular "problem" and actually even sometimes get a good laugh out of it. The only moment where this doesn't work is at the beginning of the episode where Discord escapes after a thousand years merely because the CMC had a mild argument next to his statue, with no real or alternate explanation. I have to dock it a point for that, as it just doesn't make sense and comes a costs as lazy story-telling.
    9/10
    2) " The Return of Harmony, Part 2 " - Great, better than the first half even. Absolutely filled to the brim with hilarious jokes, a really sentimental and genuinely touching scene, as well as a fast-paced and thrilling chase sequence which all amounted to something in the long run. Everything that the characters had learnt over the course of Season 1 was finally put to use in an "end of Equestria" type of situation again and it really ended up being a joy to watch. The only thing that I didn't like was the climax. Discord just sits there, despite the Mane 6 being freinds again and none of them being grey any more. Nor did he even attempt to escape to get away when he noticed that the elements were working. There's being satirical but please don't put that above story-telling in the future. Oh well, at lest the rest of the episode is excellent.
    9/10
    3) " Lesson Zero " - This episode addresses and obliterates my most prominent complaint with Season 1. It should get a ten out of ten just for that. Crazed Twilight is extremely entertaining and believable in the show's canon ( yes, Twilight has demonstrated in the past that she cares so much about her reputation with Celestia that I DO believe that this is a reasonable depiction of her behaviour in this situation ) and it was just a really great episode overall. Maybe the Mane 6 could have been a bit more understanding of her feelings but they learn their lesson by the end of the episode. Besides, is this really with docking a point for? I don't think so.
    9/10
    4) " Luna Eclipsed " - A great episode that FINALLY addresses the topic of Princess Luna for the first time in over a season. It expands the established world of the show with a new holiday, the humour is pretty funny and the conflict and moral are well done. Actually, no, this Episode WOULD be great if Pinkie Pie wasn't the most obnoxious piece of garbage ever to grace the face of Equestria in it. Seriously, what the HELL was she playing at here?! Oh, and Celestia never told Luna how to behave around people again? After all this time since the first episode? Di@k. Still a good episode though.
    7/10
    5) " Sisterhooves Social " - Wow. Just wow. The best episode that we've had up to this point. Brilliant, yet a grounded and reasonable conflict, moral and character interaction, several touching and extremely memorable scenes and Rarity and Sweetie Belle were just fantastic all the way through. That ending scene with the event itself will always stand out as a high point in the show's history. Not going to bother with complaints.
    10/10
    6) " The Cutie Pox " - Oh dear. Just boring and jam-packed with filler. It's predictable, the complete same as every other CMC episode and it's not very funny. It's perfectly watchable, don't get me wrong, it's not harmful or horrible by any means, nothing is that bad about it, it's just kind of lazy and uninteresting. Skip it, it won't make any difference whether you actually see it or not.
    4/10
    7) " May the Best Pet Win " - And the trend of bad episodes continues with an unpleasant, irritating and simply infuriating Rainbow Dash barking her head of to a load of innocent animals for no good reason other than the fact that she wants a pet. Who the Hell cares? The other members of Mane 6 do absolutely Jack-sh@t about Raibow's abusiveness towards the animals and even support it throughout almost the entire episode. And, no, one line of dialogue between Twilight and Applejack is not going to cut it. That's another thing, the others really seem to love going behind Rainbow's back in this episode, going on frequent gathering without her despite the fact that they're all apparently so close. And, yes, they had their reasons for it, but they could have at least asked her. Combine that with a stupidly predictable plot, and you've got a recipe for a crap episode.
    3/10
    8) " The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well " - If I say that this episode sucks, will I honestly be surprising ANYONE? This is arguably the most hated episode of the show and while I don't personall think that it is QUITE that bad, it still is a truly miserable excuse for an episode. The residents of Ponyville act like completely fickle assholes and turn against Rainbow Dash in an instant, despite the fact that she, you know, saved lives. Rainbow Dash is not nearly unlikeable enough to warrant all of the hate launched at her in this episode and the Mane 6 are hypocritical, deceitful and treat Rainbow Dash like an idiot, forcing her to undergo all of this negativity when they could have just, oh, I don't know, TALKED TO HER! You should know that better than anypony Applejack, considering that you're the element of honesty for fu@k's sake. The whole thing is stupidly contrived as well, Ponyville just HAPPENS to become a magnet for disaster in this ONE episode and never again. Rainbow Dash saved numerous lives in this episode, her bragging was reasonable and completely justified for her character. If you haven't noticed, she's the element of loyalty, not the element of modesty.  Not to mention that she doesn't even get the moral in the end, so what's the point of it all. Just a disgrace.
    1/10
    9) " Sweet and Elite " - YES! A Rarity episode, and a great one at that! Excellent story telling, a believable conflict and a classic, but brilliant moral. We get to actually see Rarity's guilt throughout the episode which make her actions feel so much more relatable and justified. She learns her lesson in the end and I'm so glad that Fancy Pants sticks up for her in the end and is actually a really likeable character. Besides, ponies destroying sh@t is funny. Why only a nine you ask? I'll tell you why. No Spike, and it's really noticeable.
    9/10
    10) " Secret of My Excess " - Finally, another Spike episode. Let's hope that it's better than the last one. A relationship conflict with an interesting new development about dragons and, no I don't really care that much that this episode raises several questions as it isn't up to one particular episode in the series to answer the biology on the entire species. Besides, the action is fantastic, the moral is excellent and that ending is simply too heart-wrenching for me to NOT give this episode a nine................by the way this episode gets a nine.......spoilers I guess.
    9/10
    11) " Hearth's Warming Eve " - The very definition of decent. The story is interesting and entertaining enough, with plenty of good jokes distributed throughout the episode. Sadly however, it has a multitude of continuity-related issues and doesn't really make sense among the rest of the show's lore. I appreciate that, yes, the episode takes place with the pretense of it all being a play and therefore some of these flaws can be forgiven, but it admittedly still bothers me and, while were opening up about plot-points that bother me, I really don't are for the Mane 6 arguing at the beginning and particularly the end of the episode for no major reason whatsoever. I appreciate that they are attempting to reinforce the moral of the episode, but to me it just seems forced and somewhat contrived. It's an enjoyable watch, but it's large variety of flaws prevent it from being anything more.
    6/10
    12) " Family Appreciation Day " - A very visually impressive episode with loads of really stunning and creative scenes based around the harvest of the Zap-Apples which, in itself is once again a great example of world-building and smoothly introduces the audience to an unfamiliar concept with ease. The moral is great and the episode allows for the watcher to pick up on it for themselves, which I really like. I also enjoy Granny Smith and her amazingly outlandish and aberrant personality during the entirety of the episode as it is not only very funny to witness, but also actually contributes to the overall plot. The only teeny, tiny, itty, bitty problem that I have is Diamond Tiara. AGAIN. For the second time, an otherwise near-flawless episode is spoiled by that vexatious little rat.
    9/10
    13) " Baby Cakes " - Do you hear that? That is the sound of the show's continuity screaming out in agony right now as our own, dear Charlotte Fullerton smashes the crap out of it with as much subtlety as a ten-story meteorite colliding into the great wall of China. Look, I appreciate that this is a highly fantastical show, but after an entire Season and a half of establishing and building the show's lore, you CANNOT just completely go against what has already been made clear in previous episodes. The last few minutes of the episode are a grand cluster-fu@k of the likes of which the world has never seen and, one last parting gift from yours truly, there a good ways and there a bad ways to execute adult-themed jokes in shows such as this. Needless to say, this was a very bad way. That being said, that one scene with the Pig song was actually bizarrely really funny in my opinion.

So here we are. The first entry within a lengthy journey into the animated world of MLP: FIM. Without wasting too much of your time, valued reader, I'm going to cut the small talk and just get to why you're probably here. So, allow me to get my serious face on and simply explain a few rules first. I am going to be giving a short description of each individual episode within the season, explain what I thought was good about it and what I believed was not. I will then proceed to give the episode a score from 1 to 10 depending on what I believed it's quality to be overall. After saying my piece on every single entry that Season 1 has to offer I will proceed to give a few closing opinions and impressions on the season as one, larger entity in it's own right. So, without any further ado, I present to you, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 1, reviewed!

    1) Friendship is Magic: Part 1 - A good introductory episode. It establishes a world, our main protagonists and even a competent and thrilling story and antagonist. It IS a little repetitive at certain times, and the characters ARE rather flanderized versions of themselves, but in an introductory episode, I kind of appreciate that they need to be in multiple aspects. The humor was rather decent within the episode, with all of the characters bringing their unique quirks into the mix, and overall it was a good start. It wasn't a GREAT start but it will certainly do.
    7/10
    2) Friendship is Magic: Part 2 - Sloppy execution, a bad exposition for a great deal of scenarios that ends up completely undermining the episode's admittedly epic climax. It felt very rushed with very little context being given to all of the respective problems which were thrown at the Mane 6. The humor is okay and the previously mentioned epic climax DOES help, but it's not quite enough to keep this episode from failing.
    4/10
    3) The Ticket Master - A very predictable plot with the Mane 6 being overly demanding and annoying, and while I do appreciate that that was largely intentional, it still comes across as rather grating and repetitive. Not to mention that it completely goes against the idea that the Mane 6 ALL deserve the extra ticket in their own right. However, the episode was decently funny for the most part, and other than the flaws I previously mentioned, there isn't much wrong with it.
    4/10
    4) Applebuck Season - A rather funny episode with an original plot and good execution. Seeing an exhausted Applejack cause utter havoc herself and her surroundings was just a comical experience overall. Too bad that the scenes with Applejack and Twilight talking were boring and repetitive. Oh, let's also try and keep regurgitating ponies out of our episodes as well. I DO NOT want to see regurgitating ponies.
    6/10
    5) Griffon the Brush-Off - Some great interaction between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie that led to a lot of funny lines. The conflict was both interesting and seemed realistic, Pinkie reached a surprisingly mature frame of mind all by herself and Rainbow Dash ended up really living up to her element. Gilda isn't an original character in the slightest ( at least for now ) and her dialogue is rather cringey ( I don't care how " HIP " she's supposed to be), Twilight was slightly irritating when she was talking to Pinkie Pie ( although she did apologize by the end of the episode ) and the moral COULD have been worded a bit better but I still like this episode succeeds regardless of these flaws.
    7/10
    6) Boast Busters - A complete mess of an episode. Terribly unlikable characters ( and funnily enough, the only character to which I am NOT referring to is Trixie, the episode's apparent antagonist ), a bad execution of the respective ideas that the episode was attempting to convey to the audience and every joke falls flat on it's face. How about the next time I see a travelling performer, you know, DOING THEIR JOB, I come and attempt to show them up and get them exposed and kicked out of town?! No? Because that's what we humans like to call a dick move. No real redeeming factors. One of the worst episodes that the show has EVER put out there.
    2/10
    7) A truly epic story that lets Fluttershy take charge and get some great character development. Filled with humor, action and adventure. In fact, the only thing that puts me off this episode is Rainbow Dash's treatment and lack on sensitivity towards Fluttershy's capabilities. I know that it's mostly in character but I still think that she goes a little too far. Other than that, a great episode.
     8/10
    8) Look before you Sleep - What more is there to say? Twilight acts like fu@king moron and Rarity and Applejack act like complete passive-aggressive children. Everyone is out of character and the humor completely flops. No, seriously, there is nothing more to say with this one.
    3/10
    9) Bridle Gossip - Okay, so the episode tries to tell us to not judge a book by it's cover. Despite the fact that the episode gives no Godforsaken reason NOT to judge a book by it's cover. Do you see the problem that we are running into here?! The poison joke is just over-the-top and contrived, even if it's effects are admittedly pretty hilarious. You also DON'T abandon your shrunken sister in arguably the most dangerous place in all of Equestria, no matter HOW young you are!
    4/10
    10) Swarm of the Century - A frantic, chaotic, bizarre and adorable episode, the unique plot and extremely quirky nature of the whole scenario makes the entire episode extremely humorous. This is one of Pinkie's best appearances, particuarly in the older seasons and the moral is approached in a brand new and some what left-field manner. Pinkie could have perhaps made her intentions a bit clearer but that's really it when it comes to complaints.
    9/10
    11) Winter Wrap Up - Decent humor, decent set-up, decent story, okay moral, AMAZING SONG. I dislike the scene where Applejack blew up at Twilight, but other then that nothing is outwardly wrong with the episode. The definitive definition of mediocrity.
    5/10
    12) Call of the Cutie - A surprisingly mature story within a realistic scenario. All of our protagonists are likable in their attempts to help Applebloom and the moral is really well executed considering the difficulties of writing an episode from a brand new viewpoint. It's just kind of sad that Diamond Tiara isn't a very interesting character ( for now ). Other then that, a great a episode. It's just unfortunate the show seems to have forgotten entirely about this episode's moral in future CMC episodes.
    9/10
    13) Fall Weather Friends - A funny episode ( mainly courtesy of Pinkie Pie and Spike) with a thrilling and action orientated, yet sensible conflict between Rainbow Dash and Applejack and the change of season gives the episode it's own unique feel, not to mention how nice it all looks with all of the shades of red, yellow and orange that are used for the forest leaves. If only they could fit Twilight in properly. And make her less irritating. The moral is classic, yet effectively done. Don't cheat kids. ( Just kidding, I cheat all the time. )
    7/10
    14) Suited for Success - A brilliantly well-executed approach into the personal struggle that an artist has between making everybody happy with their respective product and sticking to what they believe is right for them personally. The story is unique and the moral is really well executed. The Mane 6 are a little irritating with their demanding nature but that's honestly a nit-pick at this point in time, as it's just an overall great episode.
    9/10
    15) Feeling Pinkie Keen - Look, the episode is funny as hell. We all know that it is. But it still completely ignores logic ( and I know that's the point but it even ignores it's OWN logic and it feels way too much like an excuse to do anything that they want with the story ), has no sort of explanation for it's occurrences, brings up Pinkie-sense right out of thin air and may just have the most rancid moral in MLP history. Not to mention that the episode gets a little TOO trigger-happy with the Twilight annihilation at some points. Honestly though, she gets a freaking PIANO dropped on her head in one scene!
    4/10
    16) Sonic Rainboom - A fantastic conflict that shows an entirely new and relatable side to Rainbow Dash's character, has a brilliant conflict with a multitude of different elements coming into play during the story. The action is fast-paced and fantastic, the moral is done in a really interesting manner and the brand new setting ( Cloudsdale ) has some really interesting aesthetics and concepts ( particularly the factory, which had some really ingenious ideas in it. ) I wish that the bullies were slightly more interesting, but that's really all for negativity and, rust me, I LOVE being negative.
    9/10
    17) Stare Master - It was great seeing Fluttershy step up to the metaphorical plate and indulge in an endeavor that was completely new for her. The Everfree forest made for an interesting adventure for our protagonists and the episode was pretty funny. However, the CMC were really irritating at times, Twilight was shoehorned into the story for no Goddamn reason at all and the stare itself has certain...unpleasant implications.
    6/10
    18) The Show Stoppers - I'm sure that one of the writers of the show ( Cindy Morrow, to be exact ) was sitting down at their desk doing meth and/or cocaine one day and thought to themselves "Hmmm, wouldn't it be great to create an episode which completely goes against the previous CMC episode, shows us an abundantly obvious solution to the group's entire purpose for ever being together in the first place and yet still expects the audience to watch the CMC be complete and utter idiots and try to find their talents, despite the fact that everyone watching already knows what their talents are and how they would/could/should be achieved". Yeah! That sounds like a great idea! ( Extreme sarcasm ) NO, it doesn't! it's a HORRIBLE idea! Don't even get me started on the song. And no, being intentionally bad does make the song good in any sort of capacity.
    3/10
    19) A Dog and Pony Show - We get to see Rarity be an amazingly strong protagonist and completely take charge of a difficult situation. The location is brand new and interesting and the episode is hilarious. The scenes with the rest of the Mane 6 ( and Spike ) ARE made a little redundant at times but it's more than worth it to see Rarity as a completely kickass heroine ( and no, I'm not going to give it a superior score over other episodes JUST because Rarity is the main focus of it, I'm not THAT corrupt ).
    9/10
    20) Green Isn't Your Color - A great story ( despite the fact that it takes some obvious cues from Suited for Success ) and conflict between two characters that have very good chemistry together ( in my eyes at least ). A really intriguing and realistic set up and situation with, for the most part excellent exposition and execution. The humor of Rarity and Fluttershy trying as hard as they possibly can to pretend to be okay with their respective new positions was both funny and drove the plot along nicely. My only problem is with Twilight. WHY on Earth is she in this episode? Both she and her role do nothing but hold back the episode from being amazing. At least our ACTUAL protagonists came to the conclusion/resolution on their own in the end.
    7/10
    21) Over a Barrel - A...peculiar episode to say the least. A brand new setting, a large variety of brand new faces. I found it's humor to be slapstick and funny, not to mention fitting the scenario in which it was utilised in a really comfortable fashion. The plot was beyond bizarre for the period in the show's running but I really enjoyed it. Both of the respective sides in the argument have reasonable reasons for supporting their causes, making the whole situation feel more realistic and less contrived. Pinkie Pie IS particularly irksome in the episode and the ending is kind of anti-climactic but would have to argue that the unique layout, strong moral and cartoonish comedy more than balance these problems out.
    8/10
    22) A Bird in the Hoof - Why...........? Bad gross-out ( and I don't mean that it's too disgusting, I mean that it's just poorly done ), Twilight is forced into episode's plot ( again! ) for no good reason other than, and I'm almost directly quoting the episode here, "She was just stopping by" and as for the ending...wow! A complete middle finger to the audience telling them that all everything that Fluttershy went through was all just a joke ( just a prank BRO )! And Celestia couldn't have mentioned the solution to the situation because...lemons. I don't care if she was in a hurry, all she had to do was utter on Goddamn word for crying out loud! I'm done with this one. Moving on.
    3/10
    23) The Cutie Mark Chronicles - Come on, we all know that I'm going to rate this episode favorably. VERY favorably in fact. A fantastic moral, amazing story-telling, great humor ( and from the CMC of all ponies ) and a great contribution/insight into the past lives of our protagonists and the show's lore in general. In terms of flaws...ummm...maybe the ending is slightly contrived? Maybe? But that barely feels like it's worth mentioning. One of show's best episodes.
    10/10
    24) Owl's Well That Ends Well - And Cindy Morrow strikes again! For the second time in a row. Jealousy is only unreasonable when the reason behind that jealousy is unreasonable, which this episode doesn't even bother to attempt to address. The Mane 6 have known Spike for how long now? Over a year? ( All of her life in Twilight's case. ) With that in mind, WHY ON EARTH DO THEY TREAT A PERSON THAT THEY HAVE LITERALLY ONLY KNOWN FOR A DAY THE SAME AS THEY TREAT HIM??!! It's not jealousy, it's blatant bullshit. Owlowiscious is an irritating Mary Sue and Twilight's scolding of Spike make me want to undertake in smashing my head against a brick wall. Any sort of moral is COMPLETELY crippled in it's effectiveness by this severe problem. This episode's only saving grace was the scene where Spike dressed up in a top-hat and cape and went around acting like a Saturday-morning cartoon bad guy. I will happily admit that that part made me laugh. Other than that though, this episode is terrible.
    3/10
    25) Party of One - A complete oddity of an episode. And I love it. The humor is peculiar, I'll admit it may not be for everyone. But, to me, it was just plain funny. The story, yes, you knew where it was going and what it was doing all the time but, honestly, I don't care as the episode does such a good job at keeping the conflict entertaining. Pinkie Pie is strange and it is amazing. My one tiny gripe is the moral ( or at least part of how it it's phrased ). It's important to never assume the worst of your friends, yes, but it also seems unrealistic to always assume the best. Apart then that however, the episode is excellent.
    9/10
    26) The Best Night Ever - There's really not much to say about this one. I love the story, I love the change of setting, I love how it feels like a season finale, I love how it continues of off a previously established story arc and completes it successfully, I love the humor ( crazed Fluttershy ) and I LOVE the song. Not going to bother bringing up any flaws here, they're too small to matter.

So, there's Season 1. Be aware that I judged these episodes as critically as I could possibly could judge them. All personal preferences were kept out of what I had to say on each episodes. Also be aware that my opinions are NOT fact, nor should they be interpretation or misconstrued as such. Make your own opinion for yourself. This is just here to give the ten or so people reading this some brief insight into what I think of Season 1 as a whole. These ideas will also be applied in parts of this lengthy and figurative ( I'm not crazy, I'm not actually going to run a LITERAL marathon with running and stuff ) marathon. With that out of the way, how did the Season fare as a whole? Pretty well, especially considering that it was the first. Characters were well established into the the ( sadly ) imaginative realm of the show quickly and, for the most part, seamlessly, we as fans got taught the basic principles of the show really fluently and almost every episode had a great moral to tell in it's own right. I'm not going pretend like it's all happy smiles and rainbow kittens, as the season definitely had it's fair share of failures, with ten out of twenty-six of it's episodes achieving a score lower than a five out of 10 respectively. A common complaint here was Ms. Twilight Sparkle herself and her unnecessary, yet repeated appearances in situations that she did not need to be present in. I understand WHY they did it, she is the main character and all, and she DOES need to witness the scenario to write about the lesson learnt out of it at the end of the episode but it's more HOW they did it. As in it wasn't subtle in the slightest. And what's anomalous to me is that there WERE some episodes that understood the need to take the spotlight off of Twilight for the overall strength of the story in general. So why couldn't all of the episodes achieve this? Oh well, at least they remedied this error in the show's later Seasons. This Season in particular is the most difficult to critique in a coherent manner due to the fact that it was an establishing season, and I feel like this is one of the season's biggest weak points, as I felt that there were times when the show put establishing what would later become the norm in seasons down the metaphorical road in favor of taking risks and therefore making them less interesting/unpredictable as a result. It played itself too safe at times, and I would have loved to have seen some more diversity among the episodes as a whole. Whenever someone brings this season into discussion, that's just what I think of it. The establishing season. It wasn't until Season 2 where the show would truly feel comfortable in it's own skin for me, which is immediately evidenced by the Season 2 two-part opening. There were also moments were it felt like the show as only going over it's moral at the end of the episode because it HAD to, and it felt either shoehorned in or rushed and that's why I feel that a few of the morals came across as the way that they did ( a prime example being the completely incoherent moral of Feeling Pinkie Keen ), and I was honestly glad to see the writers trust the audience a little more to find the message for themselves in later seasons. However, despite all of this, I still find myself enjoying Season 1 in general, even if it is a little hard to back to at some points. A humble, but certainly impressive beginning for the glory of Friendship is Magic.
That is why my overall rating for Season 1 is...

    165/260 or  6/10
Please be aware that these scores are how good they are for the show that they are in as opposed to perhaps what I believe them to be overall. A 5/10 here may be a 9/10 in modern Family Guy ( God I despise that show ) for example, and also be aware that the second score is an average/estimate and is NOT exact. With that cleared up, that dear readers is MLP:FIM Season 1. Thank you so much for the 10 of you who took the time to take a look at this, and if you have a difference opinion pleases feel free to comment ( although please try and do it respectfully ). Next stop - Season 2, many people's favorite season of the show. Will I agree with them? Stop by on June 1st ( fuc@ing bullshi@ buddy ) for answers. Thank you again, this is Rarity the Supreme, and have an...adequate day! ( What, just because you read my blog, it doesn't mean that we're going to be all cotton-candy clouds and sunshine serenades! )

P.S. I've been trying to write this for two days straight now, but my Ipad kept crashing on me. I just switched over to a laptop and everything worked out a lot smoother for me. So, if you were expecting it on Easter there's your explanation, although I still am sorry and I greatly thank and appreciate your patience. It's eight in the morning and I haven't gotten any sleep, so ummmm....I'm sorry for any possible spelling or grammar errors.

  4. Sovereign Leader Rarity
To all of the 10 or so people who actually took a look at my last blog entry where I reviewed MLP:FIM Season 1, I wanted to take the time to thank you so much for your support. It means so much to me that I can express my opinion on a large social interface and for people to see it and maybe even get something out of it. There were some grammatical errors ( It was like, 7AM in the morning and I'd stayed up all night attempting to complete it, so I'm not going to apologise, although I will be returning to said blog entry and giving the grammar a significant overhaul in the upcoming week ) but, I feel like it went rather smoothly. However, as the people who observed my latest endeavour may be aware of, I was unfortunately late to upload it. I'm sorry, I really am. But, do you know the reason why? It was so much more work than I had anticipated, it took for ages to complete and, frankly, I just didn't enjoy it very much. I'm a naturally vey lazy person and it seemed like an awful amount of work for not much of a pay off. But, your support made me think otherwise and forced me to re-evaluate my previous opinion and as for the writing part itself, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the process of expressing a specific opinion of a specific episode while simultaneously injecting my own personal style and brand of humour into the whole thing. I received a piece of mail to my ...mail...icon...thingy, from a user who, although I didn't know at all, made me aware that he/she enjoyed the entry, and that comment alone made me want to continue. And, you know, it hasn't gotten any easier. The process of giving 26 episodes a semi-thorough review in a space of time short enough to keep the interests of the people who wanted it is difficult, it's a big commitment. With school getting more and more challenging, the hustle and bustle of every-day life, on top of my ongoing personal struggles and turmoil, there were times when I just wanted to say "screw it" and leave. But, despite all of that, I recently found that I was starting to enjoy the process of formulating the reviews themselves far more enjoyable ( maybe Season 2 is just way better than Season 1, I don't know ). I found that despite taking a lot longer than I had initially hoped for, I wanted it to get completed regardless, and that is always a good sign. To have a project that starts off as merely a passing promise gain something resembling mild popularity to the point where you want to see that project to succeed and evolve, it makes you stop answering questions and to appreciate what you have created to a much greater degree. I'm still not 100 percent positive on when exactly the next entry will be uploaded, but I can say with near certainty that it will be sometime in the upcoming week. To all of you who have waited for this, firstly, I apologise that it has taken so long and, secondly, I want to sincerely thank you for your ever-present patience. Although I am the being who has created this project, you, the viewers, are the ones who have sustained it, the metaphorical blood of the metaphorical creature that is this blog. Remember, this is your product as much as it is mine.

Thank you, for everything - The most trusted underling of the queen of the television screen, Rarity The Supreme.

  5. Sovereign Leader Rarity
To all of the 5 people who will probably actually see this blog entry and to those who have seen my last entry, you may recall that I claimed that I intended to review every single season of MLP: FIM  as well as all 4 Equestria Girls movies ( and the specials which are are scheduled for a release later this year ). Although progress has not been as smooth as I would have initially preferred it to be, ( I stated that it would all be complete by the time the MLP movie releases this October, and I'm not one hundred percent how feasible that goal actually is, although I will try my hardest ) I have practically completed my Season 1 review and I am currently working to iron out a few of the rough edges. So for anyone that may be interested in viewing, it will be up either late on Saturday ( which, for me is actually later today ) or sometime on Easter Sunday. If you HAVE actually been following me for a while now and have been awaiting this series actually getting off the ground, I sincerely thank you for your patience and forbearance and I appreciate you taking your time to indulge in my own silly, personal endeavour. I hope you enjoy the entry when it does release and feel free to comment and express your own opinions.

    Thank you for your time.

  6. Sovereign Leader Rarity
For those who don't know me, I am Rarity The Supreme although for short you may address me as RTS. One of the things that I love doing in this community is giving my thoughts and opinions on various situations or events that take place on the show. Soon, I don't know when exactly, to build up for the MLP movie later this year, I will be taking a look at the ENTIRE Freindship is Magic series and giving my thoughts on all of it. I will be rewatching and reviewing every episode of every season AND all 4 Equestria Girls movies, as well as any new content that releases this year. All bias and personal preferences will be kept out of the review and each season/movie will be released as one entry between now and October. Keep in mind that I will also be doing a review on the movie itself when it comes out, and if more seasons are released beyond that (which I hope to FREAKING CHRIST that there will be) I will be continuing with the series.

This means that there will be around 12 episodes overall (which means that I've really got my work cut out for me) between now and then. In each episode I will review each individual episode of each season before giving them a score out of 10. All the points will be tallied up to give the season an overall rating, with all of the movies just getting a score out of 10 on their own. Also be aware that I am still in school, and unfortunately it has to take priority, so expect release dates to be all over the place.

With all of that said and done, I am Rarity The Supreme and together WE CAN MAKE GLAM NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
