  1. I glanced at your profile and you're an adult, so you don't need their permission to do stuff, just a notice at most. You don't even have to mention you're seeing the MLP movie. You can just say that you're going to a movie and if they ask which one, you can say Blade Runner since that's coming out the same day. As for the driving thing, as someone who is your age and also has no license, I usually just use Uber to get around if there's no one to drive me to say work for example. Depending how far you are from your local cinema, you can download Uber and try. Just note that it can be pricey depending on the distance.
  2. Bronies for the last few weeks: The movie's not being advertised enough, EVERYONE PANIC!!!!!!!! Hasbro: Hold my beer
  3. No. I've seen people animate the ponies in CGI, all of them look like robotic garbage. Making 2D characters 3D can work just look at The Peanuts movie, but not for this show.
  4. Spike: What ya talkin bout? Spike showing off his inner Gary Coleman. It's pretty much what you get from TV Spots. A mix of already seen clips with new clips. Will definitely air on Discovery Family and the other kids networks so expect it airing during the new episodes in the coming weeks. Also I hope they don't do that thing a lot of movie trailers and previews do where they put all their best jokes in the trailer. More of that snarky Spike please.
  5. And this is why I'm going into the movie expecting a fun ride and not for the movie to break any records or win awards. People who think that I feel will be highly disappointed when the movie comes out. It's probably not gonna be Disney levels of success. Even ignoring the quiet advertisments, how often does a movie based off a TV show do really well? I mean sure there are outliers like The Rugrats Movie and the Spongebob Movie, but those shows were at the hight of their popularity when their movies came out. It's probably why they don't really do theatrical releases of movies based on TV shows anymore. MLP isn't as big as it was a few years ago. And hey, a movie not doing we doesn't mean it's a bad movie, just look at The Powerpuff Girls Movie.
  6. A lack of TV spots does not equal delay of the movie. Lots of movies get limited advertisment and still release in theaters normally without delay. The only time a movie gets delayed is if the people working on it aren't done with it yet which they are. It not being successful at the box office? Probably more likely but it being delayed or canceled seems like a huge leap in logic, eapecially since I've still seen merchandise for the movie even without the advertisment. Mlp is a toy based property remember.
  7. Dat Sonic Rainboom animation Also I can tell from the few voice clips that Taye Diggs was the perfect choice for Capper.
  8. Sadly we're Bears people here (I know it sucks lol). Though the Chicago area does get it's fair share of Packers peeps. When I was in middle school, the school would do a Bears Vs. Packers day on the week of a Beats Vs. game (Packers won all the time anyway). I will say though, the Bears put up a pretty good fight against the Falcons for a near bottom of the barrel team fighting a Super Bowl good team. They still have that problem of choking away their win when it matters, but at least it's an improvement.
  9. >Fangirls over the mane six >Ignores Starlight I didn't know Chrisylis was a shitposter on /mlp/
  10. It would be cool if it did but I highly doubt it. Awards are basically politics. The movies that do win are either the most artsy, or have the biggest political statement. It's basically Hollywood people patting themselves on the back with not much audience input. What I'm saying is if we go by past award show experiences,Coco will probably win the Oscar for best animated feature.
  11. I may not have seen much straight up advertising for the movie, but I have seen a lot of merchandise for the movie. It makes more sense when thinking this way. You gotta remember, MLP is first and forenost a toy based property and Hasbro is a toy company. They probably want to focus on advertising through the toys. Which yeah is odd by a movie perspecive, but I never predicted this movie bringing in big numbers anyway. And I wouldn't go as far as say the movie is gonna get canceled. It would be really awkward for that to happen now, especially after the art book, the junior book, the official movie concessions, and the many toys have already been released for it. Unless something really controversial happens involving the movie or someone involved with it in the coming weeks, then I wouldn't worry.
  12. Anyone else draw some....odd parallels to our current political climate? Specifically during that changeling safe space scene?
  13. Like all Daring Do episodes, the strengths of this episode lies in the set pieces. Daring Do episodes are always great at world building and managing to show off new locations with some great action pieces. And like most Daring Do episodes, there's always a problem with Rainbow dash's characterization. In this one, she was a mix of obnoxious and somewhat stupid. Pinkie was on point this episode. Like in Griffinstone, she works off of her perfectly and even she seemed like she was put up with her.
  14. Sounds fake. I've listened to a few Slipknot songs, their music is basically every stereotype an ousider has about metal. It's full of screaming and banging on instruments. Not the worst band I've heard, but certainly not anything remarkable compared to what other bands of that era were doing. Besides, we've had some of the songs for the movie revealed at this point, it would not clash at all with their music.
  15. Either a troll or someone who has way to much time on their hands. Also if canceling something for having a shit fandom was a thing, then Steven Universe and Sonic would've been done a long time ago.
  16. 6/10 lazy spam

    1. Woohoo

      Woohoo

      7.8/10 too much water

    2. ChB

      ChB

I wonder why the spams almost always have names of universities.

    3. Clod

      Clod

Because they're fake university graduation paper things.

  17. That's right guys. MLP TOTALLY hasn't had any stories, characters or mythologies in ANY generation! It definitely didn't have a movie in the 80s along with it's own cartoon with its own characrers and adventures, and they're definitely isn't an MLP cartoon out woth it's own lore and mythology. I know because YouTube comments told me. Sarcasm aside, the author probably knows jack all about MLP besides some toy commercial from last decade.
  18. I just noticed in the scene where the fan ponies are arguing about the mane six, you notice this mare who's cutie mark is a glass of water. Kind of reminds me of a certain not well liked mlp critic in the fandom who I shall not say the name of...
  19. If they wanted to be even more accurate with fans, they would have to completely ignore Aj or be like, "Oh she's such a background character in this friend dynamic."
  20. "Fluttershy always learns the same lesson!" "Twilight was better before she had wings!" ...I've think we've got a new most meta episode. I swear, the writers must've spent a weekend reading through every brony site and created this. Also the song is what you send someone who claims someone's out of character.
  21. The writers read MLP Forums and Equestria Daily and wrote an episode about it

    1. cmarston1

      cmarston1

And that's what made the episode great.

  22. It's good that the only other competition this movie could potentially face is for the exact opposite demographic MLP is meant for with having a two week time frame between releases. It would suck to have this movie open up the same night as the latest Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, or even Star Wars movie. We don't want another Alvin and the Chipmunks scenario where it opens the same night as the latest Star Wars movie.
  23. Pet Project rehashes May the Best Pet Win, but actually manages to do a little better than that episode (Sunset with her pet is way too adorable ) Sub Rocks I really didn't like. All the gags are so predictable you can find it on page 1 of a book of cartoon cliches and it the humor is so repetitive. Celestia tries to teach, interruption happens. Rinse and repeat till the end of class. It also raises too many questions. Why would they hire the principal to be a sub? Principals typically do get that busy on a normal school day, and the short pretty much shows why it wouldn't work.
  24. Games like these were always kind of an enigma to me. You make a game based off of a show for toddlers, so your target audience is basically toddlers. Are they even old enough to comprehend what a video game is, let alone pick up a controller to play one? I mean, unless your parents play it for you, which would kinda defeat the purpose. Like, by the time you are old enough to understand a video game, chances are you outgrew shows like Barney or Dora.
