  1. Now, some of you may know how every year their is the big fandom census. Well, I thought of an idea for making a census for the forums. I got this idea after going through polls like, "Which Religion are you?" I would see the polls and think, "There has to be other ways of gathering the most common views on religion and politics or any other ideas on a much broader scale than these polls." Then I thought of this census idea. Now you might think, "How are we gonna get these questions out to everyone who's currently active on the forums?" Well, we just send out one of those forum wide PMs with the questions and maybe more people will answer. This is not really a suggestion on anything that will improve a site, just a suggestion for an interesting research study.
  2. So, this is a common trend in the depths of the internet: The idea of positivity. Now, it's natural for a lot of people to love positivity, whether it's praising something you like or you getting praised. However, it comes to a point where it can actually damage you negatively. I see this all the time on the internet, not specifically to this forum or anything. People will be surrounded by a group of people giving them constant praise even if it's for doing very minimal things, that when someone criticizes them, their content, or their artwork, they will throw a butthurt fit of rage and probably block the user, even if it's just constructive. Now why might this happen you ask? Well the person could've had this problem their whole life but maybe it might also be caused by the constant praise. I mean think about it, you're constantly surrounded by friends always raving about how great you are and are never wrong, that your brain becomes used to that to the point where negativity becomes too much to handle. This might be a psychological thing but don't quote me on that I'm not a doctor. Back on topic, you probably forget what it's like to deal with someone telling you what's wrong with something you did, because you've got people just following you telling you everything you do right and nothing you do wrong. This kind of mentality is actually pretty damaging and can stunt your behavior socially from what I've observed on the internet over the years. I feel this trend becomes common with Youtubers and artists, and heck, I've even seen it leak on to this forum a few times. So, what do you think? How damaging can too much positivity be? I'm not saying it's wrong to be positive towards something you like, but just remember to be constructive to someone if there is a need to.
  3. Favorite: Video Media (I typically love classes that give you so much freedom to work on projects and are flexible with due dates) English Least Favorite: Economics (What's sad is that it's hard for me and it's one of the few classes that will actually be useful in life)
  4. Note: I've had above 9,000 brohoofs for a while and I have avoided making the obvious reference.

  5. Yeah I noticed that. And it has the Total Drama fashion of eliminating the most bland/annoying characters early on (seriously, the LARPer team bothered me due to having LARPer friends. They typically know what reality is).
  6. Yeah, I kind of still watch this show. Not sure as a guilty pleasure or not, but something keeps me elevated to this series. Maybe it's because I can get passed all the reality show tropes due to me liking the characters, maybe it's because they tend to spoof reality show tropes but needless to say I am following this spin off. I will say, it does do stuff better than the main series. Character arcs tend to be resolved, making their eliminations seem more satisfying, and the host in this one isn't as much of a sociopath. The teams I like are the Father/son, police cadets and the surfer dudes. The team I don't like however are the best friends. They're just played out in such a cliched way. Oh, she likes him but he doesn't notice, blah blah blah insert teen sitcom trope here.
  7. I see it as a thing of the time. I've noticed that a lot of cartoons today, while good and can do some amazing storytelling, also contain some meme-like art style or some meme-like episodes. It's similar to how in the 90s when people wanted to do a Ren and Stimpy style or how the 80s was just make everyone into a cartoon. This is something that only bothers me a little seeing as it's so small, I can usually overlook it. Heck, even some or my other favorite current cartoons like Gravity Falls and Star Vs. The Forces of evil can fall into the meme-style.
  8. I don't even know if Chris Chan is even in the fandom. If he is however and this is true, wouldn't be surprised seeing his history.
  9. Since I don't like a whole lot of the candidates I will have to got with the least bad, which in my eyes is Bernie Sanders.
  10. And the next episode is posted on my blog and here. Be sure to post your thoughts.
  11. I saw it and it was pretty darn amazing. It was a cool process to see the moon eclipse and then turn orange. Though it is hard to get a picture of it.
  12. Lunar eclipse, lunar eclipse, Princess Luna's getting pissed.

  13. Remember when I said that when I first heard the name Crystal Prep, I thought it sounded like crystal meth? I think they might have been on some with that ending. Now, it's not that I hated the ending, but it was just a bit too bizarre for my liking's. I like how it concludes Sunset's arc, but it really could've been done in a less over the top way. I wasn't really getting emotional, I was scratching my head on what the heck was going on.
  14. Nickelodeon does this thing every yeah called "The Worldwide day of Play." Where they go off the air for the whole day and expect you to play outside. They do not realize that most kids also watch shows outside their own channel so that idea automatically shoots itself in the foot.

Exactly what I was thinking xD

    3. Megas

      Megas

I always hated that as a kid. I don't use the TV to tell me to stop watching it

      @LAZENGANN OVERLOAD haha xD

  15. I'll just copy and paste what I said in the other thread: What I liked: Pinkie's epic moments. Sunset's arc having a nice wrap-around. The whole idea that the Friendship Games requires massive amounts of skills other than athletics. So many other things with a high school setting just do it with one skill. What I didn't like: Principal Clinch. She doesn't really stand out from any other villains. All she really did was blackmail Twilight and had like zero personality. She did have that semi-cool song though. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie seemed a bit on the flanderized side in the beginning but thankfully they got better near the end. What was a questionable: The climax is a bit too bizarre for my tastes. I like how it's a wrap around to the first movie but the way it was done made me not take it as seriously. On one hand, I like how Flash Sentry is more downplayed, on the other, why is he even in these movies if he's barely used? So, right now I'm leaning around a 6 or 7/10.

  17. This movie had a pretty strong start until the climax. It was a bit too on the bizarre side for my tastes. I couldn't even tell what was going on there. So my ranking is: Uhhhh?/10
  18. Friendship Games had a strong start but that ending uhhh, you know how I joked that Crystal Prep sounds like Crystal Meth? I think the writers might've been on some with that climax.
