They say that absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think that quote sums up Death Note pretty well. Also, was Light truly a sociopath? There was one point where he gave up the Death Note in order to save his little sister when she was taken hostage by Mellow. Was there a reason behind this that I might have missed?

His father was there, he wouldn't allow it, and you have to appear to have heart in order to not arouse suspicion.

i havnt seen death note in a while, so before he got the journal I can't remember much of his personality. But I will agree he did lose it as the days progressed.

That's not agreeing, that's disagreeing. And misunderstanding.

Episode 1 or 2 he says he may have to kill his family if things go bad. ANYONE who is not sociopathic to even save their own butt, would say that instantly when being handed such a thing. They would regret it the rest of their life. Instead he just considers it instantly.

WARNING: HIGH END SPOILERS FOR DEATH NOTE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Yeah, I would notice that Light's mental stability rapidly deteriorated as the anime went on, and in the end, it coated him his life.

I can understand why some people rooted for him, who wouldn't want to pull the trigger on every criminal in the world? However, he also went after suspects. Suspects are people that possibly were connected to the crime, the police don't know if they did said crime.

I also want to point out that he killed L, an innocent man who was researching into the deaths caused by the death note. I think its more of a moral, Power Corrupts then anything.

The series is fresh in my mind having rewatched it in two days time. He says early on if he slips up he might need to kill his family. Also he tauntingly killed Ray Penber and his wife. Anything that would get in the way of his ambitions from the start, rather than a true moral code. After all, he viewed himself as god-like, which means unquestionable authority. I think his downfall was assuming L was the top dog, a true fight and test, then he underestimated Near and Mellow time and again.

  3. What triggered it? If its the debate pit or something, people can disagree and not hate each other. Anyways I would just try getting more sleep and doing the stress reduction activities.

Fyi everything that increases heartrate the most is better to do in the morning of these and the chiller stuff at night.  Brains tend to need (7 to)10 hours of sleep(naps help too). Also consider diet hydration sunlight fresh air, etc.

Also pain of being non-social goes away more if you game or read or forums etc, and especially if you don't care so much what others think. Also laying in bed on the comp or phone all day seems detrimental when I used to do that. Also if you wanna boost your health faster, for exercise they say strength training, swimming, and light jog alternation with brisk walking leads to the most longevity.

Why stress reduction matters tho, it damages brain cells to be stressed. Excitement is fine n stuff but if you feel bad that's a sign to take better care of yourself.

And poor sleep reduced oxygen to the brain from a weaker heart which can cause heart pains and anxiety. Gotta get dat sleep.

  4. I see what you guys mean, socially its true, you learn to get along better everyone has their differences to work out etc.

But this balance thing, eh. Like, some kids are born with painful diseases, and die wondering why god is punishing them and thinking they did wrong or are not good enough. I would not exactly call life balanced, or the black death plague everyone would be having a jolly ole time with icecream and carnivals and stuff. Like, the boils wouldn't be painful, they would feel good, but cost them mobility, that's balance. And reminds me of Kiwis(thought to have went extinct because they did not comprehend predators due to being away from predators for a while), or kids born without the ability to feel pain.

But for species that survive, like wolves, it is more of a balance. Like, if deer had no predators, they wouldn't be as good at surviving as deer are in the presence of a predator.

So you could argue for a continuous harmony, it requires balancing out your convenience, with your struggle. Too much struggle is bad, too much convenience is bad, both can lead to maladaptive behaviors which lead to extinction.

But, there are objectively people who enjoy more in life, and those who suffer more in life. So, in that regard, no, its not balanced in the slightest. And technically good and bad occurrences do have tangible explanations, but I see no reason a new child has to die to some defect or disease and calling it even/balanced/fair.

And in the distant future, its entirely possible humans are intelligent enough and capable enough to predict every problem of their lives before it happens, namely, after the singularity and flawless educational patterns. Everyone loves to learn that far into the future, and the technology allows all living members to be capable and learn whatever they fancy, and fix every problem before it starts. So, technically some people have inherently more free time than others due to random chance, would be that society's only conflict. Well, and heat-death of the universe. Anything they want to experience for the sake of experiencing can be in a direct non-invasive to brain virtual reality experience. The only conflict they would get is from stories or producing stories, and how much cognitive dissonance those things end up causing. Which they might not even take the dissonance seriously, because they know exactly what it is and why, so its not a conflict, just a state their brain is in.

And I don't think they would ever get bored from the lack of conflict, fiction is endless, learning is nigh endless, before you master one skill, another skill loses its edge and you need to keep up with it. Amazingly long life due to technology could potentially be extremely fulfilling.

Personally, I think "Stereo Pop" could have been a good character if the showrunners didn't make him like Justin Bieber and focused more on what he revealed about himself at the end of the episode: Good at entertaining people, but not good at talking to people on a social level! At least, he would have been relatable to some people that way. Just simply having anypony helping an Entertainer learn some social skills would have been a decent plot!

Zephyr Breeze was a lot more relatable because his fear of failing is something a lot of people go through!

As a Disney fan, I'm offended by the slams against fairy-tale tropes that went too far. At least, Shrek made genuine satire that pokes fun at Disney without treating those who believe in fairytales like they're idiots.

Its not calling them idiots, its saying fiction doesn't line up with reality all the time. Remember, NMM was in a 'fictional' book, so for them this occurrence was probably not expected, their life seems also more fantastical than the average filly's so their perception might be biased as well, prolly just growing up in ponyville with common heroes around would do that.

Personally this episode was cringey but entertaining, I wouldn't call it bad.

  6. When I replied to the status, I was thinking, oh, do normal families hug each other, was I neglected growing up? lol But you got it worse than me, my mom is rather tolerant. Too tolerant even, well, at times. I wouldn't be anywhere if I didn't have family helping me. Idk what to say, other than, good luck. Also, friends would go a long way for you. Gotta stand on your own two feet also, then your whoever supported you can feel proud and you can have some stability.

  7. Like um, deciding you must be transgender when evidence presents itself, you suddenly decide you must be that, then when you are interested in guys sometimes, you feel like you are suddenly bi which contradicts being lesbian. If you slowed down and stopped labeling you might recognize it changes based on mood or such.

Like sometimes people have a favorite food, sometimes they change their minds, sometimes they put it up or down on their list of favorites, or completely get sick of it. So someone writing on a biography, 'my favorite food is icecream' then later 'turns out my favorite food is pizza, I'm a pizza lover now'. Why not just say you like pizza sometimes, and you like icecream sometimes? Easy, don't need to worry about describing yourself with a definition, can just say 'I am not in the mood' for liking guys right now, or such, this way you also don't inconsistently present yourself to others, and you don't feel as turbulent if you contribute it to whatever you are in the mood for. I mean it could be 'gender fluid'. But the labels don't really matter as much as how you feel, and if you feel differently its going to contradict a label you give yourself, so I just think it'd be easier to not have labels.

Anyways, if your mind keeps changing involving transexuality, then theres a chance after you go through with a procedure you may change your mind again. So that's more important to note I think.

  8. It was forced kinda. Like oh Fluttershy needs her dream too, then no interaction with other important characters, just a forced dilemma due to a random group of pony's incompetence and inconsideration.

For kids tho the ep might be viewed differently, but idk, I am not a kid. Worst episode ever? Hm, the cart before the ponies did have a Derpy/Rarity sorta gag going I guess, and more content per minute average probably. And adults can be silly, kids need to realize that too. So yeah its worse than that episode, but I don't think I saw AJ's Day Off, don't remember it. Hm.. *googles*

Hm, I can see how it is worse, as AJ's day off actually has 2 main characters interacting more than just simple agreement. But idk not like I memorized both episodes, so I could be wrong.

  9. Yeah it didn't look impressive, or they would show off the gameplay, if it even does go back to its roots properly tho people will complain the maps are too small or not diverse enough or something, when other games can make more maps all of which are larger. And I heard they are being vague about the zombies mode, so may end up disappointing people there too.

  10. I rank Star ahead of SU just because SU is a little slow paced, and season 2 of star is significantly better than season 1 for the most part. Gravity falls prolly is better than it for some dialogue, but each episode has some similar tropes for the conflicts so its more predictable than Star (what I mean is the paranoid sorta setting). I didn't finish GF. Rick n Morty is pretty good tho, season 3 ep 1 during april fools was great. Like, SU is very hit or miss for me tho. It was good, but it just fell into these sorta bonding experience moments too much with too many people. I felt like greg's um, was it brother or cousin, with the airplane, was a little forced and unnatural with the resolution to that conflict. Then for a mature show, it has some low value entertainment now n then like watermelon dog. And tbh I think the singing was terrible between yellow diamond and blue diamond, and it was forced. Season 3 sounds like it could be picking up tho, but that could be because they need to compete with Star and Rick n Morty picking up for season 3. So I still expect filler episodes from SU tbh. Also I feel like the villains are abnormally unrealistic considering how long earth has been a problem. Just go over n death star it or something, not sending a handful of unorganized peeps now n then. I should prolly finish gravity falls, but I heard some were let down by the finale due to the motivation for triangle head guy to zap his own guys was flimsy at best, or I think thats what it was. But season 2 finale for star was pretty good.

  11. You say Trump was associated with KKK, but how much? You need sources for your claims. And there is a pic of Hillary hugging some ex-KKK guy too. So I am not sure how much he truly is associated with the KKK so everything you say, without much evidence it can't really change the mind of someone who is aware of inaccuracies mistakes and propaganda. I think any candidate would fall though because its the kind of people who tend to be attracted to that position. Also I think Hillary lost because everyone assumed she would win, so less people voted. Also wasn't Nixon an actor before? Trump just played his cards right and people are right when they say the presidency is a popularity contest. It doesn't get whom is most qualified, it gets whom is in the spotlight the most.

In reality it should be a double-blind position, but if that happened people would exploit the system from candidate swapping. And there are images to some polls that say Hillary had a 99% chance of winning. Polls are notoriously easy to corrupt at every aspect of interaction to how they occur in the environment.

I agree there needs to be a stop to the violence, but wasn't there some billionaire hiring antifa, and he did this stuff to other countries too? He is using the PC movement for financial gain. Also its kind of ironic the 'pc' movement is being violent which is not pc.

Also to be fair this is exactly like the Iron Will episode with Fluttershy. Empowerment feels good, provides a moral high ground. Sun Tzu said the moral high ground is needed for long term conquests for the support of the masses, and so the warriors have their hearts in it. Ancient cultures always claimed the moral high ground often calling other cultures they exterminated evil for various reasons, but the true motive from those causing these assumptions to the masses, was gain. Gain can be selfish, or it can be for the good of a group. Consequence is what determines such a thing, long term consequence. If people could not execute these plots, then this would not be a problem. Because it is and can and has been or being executed, it can be predicted and countered. So there is no excuse to say we are confused and leave it at that, or to let our emotions control us. Empowerment is the same as allowing yourself to be used from a feel-good emotional response. Its inciting rebellion is what it is.

Also the reason why people do not have dialogue, is because they do not accept that they could be wrong, they are not trying to understand others. They are just trying to assert their stance, which is why the right calls the left 'ideologue's. Because they simply are seeking validation for their stance and agreement, rather than proper discussion. Self aware discussion should have both sides ready to admit they may entirely be wrong at a moments notice if severe enough evidence contrary to their position presents itself. Identifying as something, comes at a cost, for both the right and left.

The cost it takes to maintain your identity is at the expense of truth. This means ignoring contrary information, due to the lens you perceive things through. That is the real problem with society, and the cause of this moral high ground which is essential for battle. People need to be more humble, and less absolute.

Out of curiosity, do you do anything else you enjoy while waiting for friends to reply? Or does your enjoyment depend heavily on how frequently they reply?

Hmm... while even the most introverted people probably still crave company at times (I know I do at least), from the sound of it, I doubt the level of social activity you're getting is just what you prefer. You state you're afraid to be yourself irl; what parts of yourself do you feel like you're hiding away? Since you mentioned being a closet brony later in the entry, I'm going to guess that at the very least might be a big thing; if so, this thread might be worth a look if you feel your bronyism is something you'll ever need to share.

In regards to doing more good than bad, I can't say for 100% sure seeing as I don't know you, but if being a good person is something you're concerned about, I'm willing to bet you're already doing a ton more good than bad; for as easy as being bad can be, even just the smallest of good acts can ripple out quite a ways :)

As for the stuff that matters which you can't change, what kinds of things would these be?

What kind of goals do you have, may I ask?

Do I wait for them to reply too much? Not really. Just it bothers me when I do notice it. I know others can be prone to waiting too long in some situations, the less social of us, but I think its because I always lived with family, never on my own, so I feel like a weird abandonment thing is my guess, but I could be entirely wrong, psychology is complex.

Yeah I am in such a habit that I basically hide any hobby from my mother except console gaming or playing outside with my brother. And I am highly hesitant to show my brother pony stuff, especially because I can't show him much because he is sensitive. So I don't really have irl peers or anything.

Well the morality thing is just me being aware that mid-life crises is a thing, and I don't want crippling depression when I reach that point in my life being 'I wasted it' from a tech progress or ethic utilitarian perspective.

You know, status of biology, status of the world, magic isn't real, can't be my oc, etc etc. Singularity didn't happen yet (tho it might soonish, which would be sweet).

Goals are sorta lame, like get GM in Stacraft 2, get the Devil Dagger's world record. Get Godly streak with TF2's Spy, do that quad machine for over 1,000 lbs. Make money buying n selling stuff on ebay. Get artistic ability to make youtube vids, art, music, writing, etc(I am nowhere near started with those ones). Get cyborg non-invasive brain enhancers, and medicine which reverses aging so I can be biologically immortal, and a genius. And, being able to just adventure and do what I want. Like read in barns n noble all day, take a hike, learn to swim properly. Maybe flying too would be sweet. I want to practice sniping long range targets to improve my vision. I would have plenty to do if I were eventually immortal due to tech advancements.

Which reminds me I also want enhanced eyes to see ultraviolet and infrared and etc.
