That's the issue. I'm unsure how they'll react. On one hand, they've expressed a huge dislike of the gay community, so I'd expect they'd have a similar reaction to a transsexual. On the other hand, I am their son (daughter?), so one it would probably take more than this to make them hate me. I just don't know how they'll react, so it makes me nervous.

That's a tough one. Right now I'd avoid just coming out and dropping a bomb. Tactfulness is key, in my opinion. Either be subtle, or save telling them for a time you are sure will be most comfortable for everyone.

I'm saying this from the outside-looking-in, so I'm not the best authority on this. Just my 2 bits. Maybe you should research this a bit.
