Apparently there was just the one stallion in G1, called "lucky". Gotta wonder why, really...

Well, horse herds ARE mostly mares, with just a small number of stallions. But as it has to conform to US cultural norms, it seems monogamy and marrage-then-foals is the expectation. which presumably leads to a shortage of stallions and hence more mare-mare pairings...

Indeed, mud brains doesn't feature in this episode, hence Sunburst being shipped with Maud due to it.

It's worth a rewatch - he goes antiquing with Twi, discusses geology with Maud (who has found the mirror pool cave and made a clone of her pet rock) and helps Trixie with some magic tricks. He also finds Starswirl's diary, which leads nicely onto the shadow pony episodes - which is why I know it is S7E24

There was SOOOO much shipping fuel in that episode though - he had chemistry with maud, trixie, even twilight - and poor GlimGlam was left out....

Sure, I just think she could do better. I mean I know there is a stallion shortage in ponyville, and she is related to the apples, but still... I was sorta sure she would date Sunburst at least. she's a smart and talented mare, but I wouldn't want to date her, sorry. On the bright side, she is all yours if you can just turn that idiot back to stone again.
