I must say that this show is really bad at doing lessons about humility or bringing someone down to earth. The episodes centered around this always end up being very vindictive and end up confusing revenge and mean spirited with humility. The sooner the writers stop doing this, the better it will be for all of us.

You're Thunder Gust on the Equestria Daily Forums, right?

What are some of your favourite movies if you don't mind me asking?

Hey, ChB.

Classical, eh? Very interesting and great pick there.
I love classical music myself. I don't listen to it often, but it is always satisfying when I do.
Actually, the motto that I put on my page is a lyric from the song Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. However, my favorite Stevie song is Superstition. I am sure you have heard it before. It's a pretty famous song.
My favorite Redding song is My Girl.

Thanks. I play the piano a lot, so I guess that's one reason why.
Good picks! There's always a nice touch to R&B soul, jazz, and gospel music. Superstition is very memorable, yes.
I just remembered: My favorite soul singer is Diana Ross. She sung "If We Hold On Together," one of my favorite soul songs.

Thank you, ChB. You have great music taste as well. Also, playing the piano is an incredible skill.
Diana Ross was also part of an amazing soul vocal group in the 60s called The Supremes. They had many incredible songs throughout that decade. My favorites are: Baby Love, You Can't Hurry Love, Stop in the Name of Love, and Where Did Our Love Go.

As a primary Equestria Daily Forums user, I must say that MLPF is quite the overwhelming experience. I'm sure it's a very nice forum and all but it's just so...big! XD

So, you found an episode to dethrone The Best Night Ever, eh? Well, I would definitely agree. Honestly, I think you could make an argument that Amending Fences is better than TBNE as well.
-
Hmm. As great as Discordant Harmony is, did you find the pacing to be pretty slow? The plot seems pretty thin.

"This is an issue even the Grinch would reject." XD
Great review! I don't plan on reading that anytime soon (EgG Holiday Special). In fact, I haven't really read much of the comics at all. The only two arcs I've read are Manehattan Mystery and Neigh Anything. I really enjoyed both of those. Which are the ones to stay away from?
-
To stay away:
For the Main Series:
- The Good, The Bad, and The Ponies (#25/26)
- The Root of the Problem (#27/28)
- Siege of the Crystal Empire (#34/37)
- FIM #40
For reasons why:
- T3: Twilight being very OOC, lazy writing, the story suggesting that the aggressors get more protection than the victims, the Mane Six acting like (and failing at being) criminals to outwit Longhorn, and not understanding how to write a proper parody of Westerns
- Root: King Aspen (the protagonist) being a complete straw character, the message of peogress and environmentalism being poorly written, poor worldbuilding of the Everfree Forest.
- Siege: Tries to do too much in one basket, thrusts in secondary antagonists while writing them out of character and not having any impact in the final 1.5 issues, Radiant Hope being dumb/a Mary Sue/remorseless for her criminality at any point, rushing a major plot through.
- Poor characterization of Celestia, for the most part.
Micro-Series:
- Twilight: Poorly-drawn colorization of the artwork. Tries to replicate the show and fails massively.
- Rainbow Dash: Brony pandering, lousy characterization of Rainbow Dash, a plot that makes no sense, pop culture references that make no sense, and terrible dialogue.
- Fluttershy: A plot that was poorly explained, lack of attention to continuity, the antagonist being a straw character, and the moral suggesting that criticism should be ignored.
- Applejack: Follows the clichéd "AJ is too stubborn" formula to a "T," AJ sings in the comic, and the plot is mostly pointless.

Have you seen the three new EqG episodes? If so, what did you think?
