  1. Remember when you could buy a game and you got the whole thing?

No season passes, no premium stuff, no pay walls, no dlc, no loot boxes.

Games were seen as fun entertainment to provide, now theyre just seen as cash grabs.

Agreed there, tough to be fair, some developers tend to be a bit greedy with their DLC's, I have heard that the new cod ww2 DLC is just like 20 euro's but only gives 4 maps, maps that should have been included in the base game.

To be fair, call of duty has always been money hungry when it came to DLC's, for zombie maps it was still relatively okay since people really were looking forward to those, but multiplayer maps? Nobody really paid the DLC's for the multiplayer maps, just because their sometimes would be zombie maps included.

I can remember my only time buying a more multiplayer DLC pack was back in mw2, but that was with good reason, since they had made a remake of cod4 maps and ported them to mw2, wich the more nostalgic people really liked, but most of the time it are just a bunch of maps that really have no purpose other than the developers wanting more money really.

The lesson here is, if you make paid DLC, make something that appeals your fans, not create something just to quickly rush it so there can be more money made.

I do remember a better business model - where free to play brought all the boys to the yard, but you could buy loot boxes and DLC (or even get a monthly pass to extra features). Free is a great attractor, especially if you have lots of time but no money.
