@Maple Bat Midnight stood up, disgusted at the violence. "Hey, he confesses his feelings for you and you throw him out like garbage? 'Oh hey, this is probably a changeling that defected! But i need to be super supicious of every little changeling i see in yodeling distance!' It sickens me!" He shouted. He poined a hoof at the changeling. "He tries to get over his fear, and THAT is how you repay him?! For celestias sake, maple! At least give them a chance before you do anything!" He said, then-with a angry sigh-sat down on the couch.

He asked. He looked at the newcomer. "Oh! You are the fine pony i met last night. At least, it only feels like last night. How are you doing? Feel free to make yourself at home!" He waved his hoof around the interior of his house. "I got a letter from my sister, turns out shes visiting today! I cant wait!" When he saw the changeling with moonshadow, he paused, then walked over to them. "Is there something going on that im not aware about?" He asked in a hushed tone.

So, ive been hearing rumors of a live action pokemon film with Ryan Reynalds as pikachu.
Coming from a diehard pokemon fan, i am borth confused and interested in the choice, and i am eager to see where it goes.

Also, i forgot. Todays a day of historical signifcance!
"Yesterday, december 7th, 1941. The united states of america, was suddingly and deliberately attacked, by the naval and air forces, of the empire of japan."
Basically, todays the anniversary of pearl harbor. This was a very important event, since it brought the us into world war 2 (my favorite historical subject)

Indeed. or fear. But my interest and focus is more on the cryptographic and intelligence wars that took place against that backdrop - so for example that the japanese embassy had destroyed their code machines so had to laboriously hand-decode the declaration of war meant by the time this work was completed and the paper in the ambassador's hands to be delivered, the attack had already happened. Worse yet, someone in the US diplomatic corps had "leaked" to the German ambassador that they were intercepting japanese diplomatic traffic, who then told the japanese, so there was a change in code tables that meant the message wasn't decrypted by the americans themselves.
Just in case that wasn't bad enough, the US senior military didn't believe the Japanese would attack, so ignored advice about not crowding so many ships into pearl harbor, and intelligence indicating the japanese had mobilized their fleet - to the extent that the inbound attack planes were actually spotted on radar, reported, and the response back was literally "don't worry about it".
