Right, I know what you mean. I've known a few people who I've met in the pony community let's say... 4 years ago. I still know them and still talk to them. I guess with forums and a community of this size is that things move pretty fast when it comes down to it. We might be super active at one point but after awhile we just stop caring and don't want to come on anymore. I wish it wasn't this way but it usually is...

@TheTaZe That's the unfortunate truth... And I guess the importance of the community varies a lot for people. For some people, it's like a second home; for others, it's just a place to chat once in a while. The latter group is more likely to leave. But though I've never really made friends on forums other than this one, I still can't imagine just leaving them suddenly...

That is indeed true, I have a made quite a few good friends here. Like I mentioned before, I have friends from other places I talk to from time to time but I always like expanding my horizons. I chose this place in particular because of how friendly everyone is.
