I always liked them too, their episodes were fun (or in a few cases, very emotional) and brought a lot of variety to the show.

Totally!  Their journey to get their Cutie Mark's is one of my favorite things in show history and I legit cried when they finally did.  Was glorious. 

That was one of the most emotional episodes in the whole series. Having joined the fandom late, I knew it would happen, but it was still amazing to see.
