@Jedishy uuuu wait what? Where am i? And what happened to my character?... Im confused...

So sorry I thought you would be frozen in the cold storage of the Clinic. Like you were there for whatever reason you wish and got locked in pre war the ice and freezer protected you. Sorry did I mistake anything in your back story?

  2. @AuroraGlimmer
Eldrich leads them on a path toward the clinic. Soon the Giant Cross covered by a butterfly loomed large.  The clinic was impressive for such a small town. One large treatment building and a smaller building connected that held a lab and cryogenic equipment. It was their best chance to find viable frozen samples. It was at least a starting point if there was nothing directly in storage. It was sure to restock their medical supplies as well. He paused at the crest of the hill.

" I can head in. If I trip alarms you can cover me maybe? Or do you think its better to clear the way right to the door and then join me before entry?

With that, he prepped for a frontal charge. He knew it was risky but it was the approach with the best cover and the back was too wide open with no way for long-distance gunfire.

  3. @AuroraGlimmer
Eldrich heads forward into the wastes. Finding the way smooth and clear. Up ahead he sees a small box labeled Sparkle Cola. upon getting a little closer the spark battery seems to be keeping this box humming. A small slot appears to fit the size of the weird pre-war coins in his saddle bag. There were two buttons one the normal Sparkle Coal the other a brand he had not seen before. Sparkle Coal RAD. Now with more radish! He dropped a few coins into the slot. pressing a button an ice-cold cola out. He put more coins in until he had one ice-cold sparkle cola and sparkle cola RAD for each of them.

" Well, this should at least cool us off. Give us a bit of an energy boost too. I can see the medical building ahead. I heard rumors that there is at least one Owl-Bot and one Pony-Bot guarding the building. I've never faced one before..... do robots need any special type of fighting method? "

Eldrich sipped the carroty beverage calming his nerves from the last building. The sisters seemed so much tougher than him. He hoped he didn't let them down. He did his best to keep relaxed and put on a brave face. But if either was observant they would see the slight shake to his hoof as he brought the soda up to drink. "

  4. @Scarlet SoftPaws
Eldrich searched the upstairs leaving nothing unturned. He found out this was a tax office. There was little of value upstairs aside from a hoof-full of bullets for a 10mm firearm and three unused of Radaway. The sight of the remains of a tiny filly next to some toys shook him to the core. He stumbled down the steps barreling past the sisters and out the front door. He was gasping for air and sweating bullets. The world spun for a moment and he leaned on the wall to steady himself.

" L l l lets get going... you're right we have to get to the clinic before sunset.

  5. @Scarlet SoftPaws

Eldrich started up the stairs they creaked ominously closer to the top. He paused at the landing taking in his surroundings As he looked around he gasped and almost stumbled back down the stairs.
" Ummmm maybe you ladies don't want to come up here. There are only a couple of rooms and I can see into both. Its a bit of a mess but I can sort through things and come down with anything I find

His voice shook. The entire upper floor was littered with pony bones. The RadSafe and Radaway told the tale of why. It was everywhere. These ponies clearly had tried to shelter during the Last Day and did their best to deal with the balefire radiation. But it hadn't been enough........

Why did the bones bother him so much more then the raiders he left behind..... Was it their perceived innocence? Letting out an indignant whicker he marched forward to explore the last of this building

  6. @Scarlet SoftPaws

Eldrich looked as if he was about to be sick. He suddenly spits out a cloud of wood dust from the explosion. He tries to scrap at his tongue only to find his hooves are coated as well leading to him using a sparkle cola to wash out his mouth and spit into the defunct kitchen sink. With a sigh, he tugs the crowbar out of the wall and offers it to the sisters.

" Well that tastes awful and this could be useful. Do you think we should head upstairs now?

He is clearly embarrassed and trying to downplay almost getting blown up because he did not pay attention.

  7. @Scarlet SoftPaws
Eldrich chuckled and agreed to Abby's plan.
Well, that leaves the kitchen on this floor. Then the upstairs. "

He heads out and into the kitchen. Most of the cabinets are open along with the fridge. There does not seem to be anything worthwhile to scrounge up until he sees a partially closed double-door cabinet right across from the fridge. He was too confident, and too comfortable and did not check for traps before opening the left door. There was a rapid series of beeps and Eldrich swore to both goddesses as he lept for the cover of the tables. As he did he threw a wall of ice around the sisters as he dived under it. There was a mighty whomp and bright flash. The ice splintered around the sisters but absorbed the blast. Amongst the smoke and splinters of the room, Eldrich was nowhere to be seen. The fridge was tipped over on the floor and the table cracked in half on each side of it. After a few moments, there was a muffled shout from the fridge.

"If you can hear me and are ok....Get this thing off of me please...."

The only thing of note in the room now appeared to be a crowbar that was stuck quivering in the wall having been flung from the cabinet that contained the trap.

  8. Eldrich is totally focused on jimmying open the file cabinet. With a pop and a cloud of dust, the upper drawer gives way. Whatever records were in here were now airborne dust. He coughs and sputters staggering back a bit. Nothing but scraps of paper... He moves to the second drawer and tugs. With a soft click, it swings open. He finds what appears to be a lunch stash. Three sparkle colas, two packets of Fancy Buck cakes, and one box of insta-oats. And again a small collection of bottle caps and bits. Looking over his shoulder he sees that Gabby seems stressed.

"What's wrong terminal giving you trouble? "

Having failed to hear Abby over the coms he was oblivious to the teasing.

    @Scarlet SoftPaws

  9. @Scarlet SoftPaws
Eldrich headed inside. Carefully scanning the floor for trip wires or pressure plates. After a few steps he looks around. To the left was a set of steps. To the right were two rooms and ahead a room that clearly seemed to be a kitchen.

"Let's not leave uninspected rooms at our flanks. We should take this first room and then move to clear the rest of the floor. Ill head in and you keep an eye on the stairs ok? Once I say clear or if you hear fighting you follow me and we search the room. Sound like a plan? "

He headed inside the room looking again for any traps but finding nothing. It was a small waiting area for whatever type of office this place used to be. It held a desk. A glowing terminal. A file cabinet and a couch. The table in front of the couch was brittle and appeared to have once held magazines that had long since crumbled to dust.

    " Clear

  10. @Scarlet SoftPaws
Eldrich burns through the door lock with a focused flame. The lock melts away and he softly pushes the door to the building open. Ancient dust clogs his nose and he sneezes before peering inside. Nothing out of the ordinary appears as dust obscures some of the shadows.

" Who do you want to go in first? I think Abby is right we should be cautious so let's stick together and not be more than a room apart ok? Could be totally empty but until we are more experienced maybe its best not to tempt fate.

Flurry Heart didn’t even fully grasp object permanence in Flurry of Emotions. Also, yelling at an infant to a toddler actually reinforces bad behavior instead of corrects it.

THIS! In Flurry of Emotions, she seemed to understand permanence as she started to look for her toy when it went missing and was lifting things to find it. This is a huge developmental gap that was the separation between why it was ok to yell at her here and not before. Thank you for putting this to words better then I was.

If she is putting an entire EMPIRE in danger, no. I don't care if she doesn't understand. If it's a choice between freezing an empire of ponies to death or scaring my niece, I'd pick scare my niece

But you are scaring her for nothing. Yelling does not fix the heart. Yelling is not even likely to stop it the next time as she did not appear to be in control of her magic yet and would not at the time understand the issue. So all you are doing is scaring a child for nothing. In that situation education and training as soon as she could be taught is the solution. Not needlessly scaring an infant/toddler that isnt going to get why you're shouting. So you would not be choosing between scaring your niece and saving the empire. You are choosing to scare your niece for nothing.

Then they can yell at her, frankly don't care. In "A flurry of emotions" when Twilight yells at Flurry Heart it works. Sure, it might just be because the yelling scared her, but clearly yelling works

So you dont care that she will not be able to understand why she is being yelled at or what they want her to stop? Not exactly a great way to parent.
    Yelling at her will not:
Explain the bad behavior. IE crying ok/magic shatter crying not ok
Stop what may be an involuntary reflex. ( The action was already done. its hard to explain to even a toddler why something that already happened was wrong once its over never mind someone at that stage of development )

When Twilight yelled at her it was for a voluntary action that she could control and clearly knew what she was doing That was not the case in the previous situation. While we dont have an exact time frame this is Season 6 Ep 1 and 2 vs Season 7 ep 3 which is likely a year or more apart. Considering what we see in those two episodes we can at least guess that she is considerably more mature/aware of her magic. This makes a huge difference in how it should be handled.

Eldrich stepped out into the wastes once more. The skies perpetually clouded but with the occasional sunbeam finding a hole. As he looked up he had to steady himself again. The skies seemed to go on forever. So much higher than the vaults. As he regains his composure he heads forward-looking left and scans with his ESF to see if there were any hostiles in the area. Seeing nothing he starts off at a trot. He swiftly leads them to the first location he had spotted. Doing a light circle around the outside he could see the windows were all stuck shut and the back door appeared to have objects placed against it. This left one way in.

" Do you think its a trap or just a building that was once occupied but isn't anymore? Because my ESF has nothing on it but I dont know its full range yet.

    name: White Light.

    Race: earth pony.

Has changeling crystals implanted on him. He can use it as a blade or claw.

    Has military training.

He focuses on nimbleness and agility rather than the earth pony way of muscling things out.

So he studied with pegasus on their form on the air. And applied it on himself.

Since he can manipulate the crystals in his body he could make himself more slick and aerodynamic.

    That sounds great.

Well he is young.... He just got stuck on ice.... Like the same age as twilight i suppose...

Poor word choice on my end. I mean a more modern pony.

I am just having trouble seeing how we can catch up a pony that wont understand firearms, radiation, robots, or modern medicine in the wastes while trying to keep us all alive. It could be a lack of creativity on my part though.....

" Indeed. I suppose we should head out? I think I saw a few minor office-looking buildings in the direction of the clinic. I am not sure if your pipbucks got any different information than mine but I dont have any labels for those buildings. So if you see a name and it doesnt pop on my screen let me know. I can try to program it in so our maps are more accurate. Do we want a day plan for when we start or stop the exploring or battle plan in case things go side ways? I mean we handled our first encounter ok but I do not want to have confusion if the hay hits the horse feathers. "

As he spoke Eldrich stocked up on his supplies and made sure his healing items were well packaged. He finally mounded the knife on his saddle bags so he could turn and grab it if he needed it quickly. Not that he wanted to go around getting into knife fights.

Aaaah kuya is much older than that... He is medieval times.

Im a bit confused you said he was descended from Pinkie pie. So wouldnt he be born after her? Please dont take this as criticism I just wanted to make sure I was understanding correctly.
Also that wouldnt much work for our campaign. Would you be willing /  able to make a younger pony?

I understand that, but clearly Flurry Heart is capable of understanding what the adults are saying. They could've at least told her "Hey Flurry Heart you need to be careful" but nope, they did NOTHING

There is no evidence she understands complex ideas like be careful. Toddlers understand adults but they struggle to understand complex topics like emotions and using their words and need constant training on it. There is zero evidence she understood what she did or how she did it. So explaining to someone that does not appear to have even the understanding of a five year old that crying is ok but magic crying which they don't appear to control is not...... is gonna be a tricky topic. And not one that could sensibly be addressed at that time in the show.
