1. A lot of the continuity is broken. It makes no sense that the mane 6 would suddenly be treated as celebrities now after a book was published when saving Equestria many times hasn’t really had much of an effect.
2. A very mean spirited setting. All the new characters and Ponyville itself has been downgraded to a bunch of one dimensional assholes. It really messes up the tone too. If this episode was truly a lighthearted jab at the fandom, the episode wouldn’t have these issues.
3. The meta humor is pretty bad. I found it really repetitive and stale.
There are many other reasons but they are hard to explain without writing a full review or something. XD

1. That's true. I'm honestly tired of them not being recognized and it's sad to see this episode was the beginning of that for them. Also, err, like you pointed out they've done a lot of stuff and it's annoying to see publishing a book is what would get ponies interested. Guess saving Equestria wasn't as exciting as a friendship book

2. I agree. I understand there are some really bad fans out there but if they're going to do an episode on the fandom they need to show both the good and the bad or else it just looks like plan shitting on their fans. I know that was not their intent but it still came off as rather mean-spirited towards the fandom and well... you never want to let some bad apples or certain people fully represent a fandom. It's not a good way of looking at it or presenting it. Once upon A Zepplin dealt with the fan issue way better. Also, I'm tired of ponyville civilians turning into idiots and or jerks for the sake of the plot. Next episode things seem fine and ponies seem nice again. It just really messes up with the identity of the local.
3. I found it annoying as well, especially the whole Fluttershy thing. Not everyone that mentions that hates Fluttershy and some do have some good criticisms when it comes to her character. The other ones were just... er, again, i get fans can be like that but they felt like sharp jabs at the fandom in my opinion.
