  1. None, but I know a little Chinese and Cherokee. And I used to know a lot of swears in Polish. What non-native language do you wish you could speak?
  2. I honestly didn't have much trouble with Sonic Genesis. Sure, I prefer the original any day, but I managed to almost beat Genesis just fine. Anyway, the worst i've ever played, and I've mentioned it before, is Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring on GBA. Miserable experience all around, battles take forever since enemy animations take ages (it's a turn-based RPG), and you get nothing from beating them. Not gold or EXP or anything, they're literally just a waste of time. Characters level up through story events, which means some characters will always be under leveled. The graphics are ludicrously ugly with laughable proportions and disgusting, almost diseased looking character portraits andto top things off, the game is insanely buggy. Heck, it even has has a bug which was reported to be capable of breaking GBAs, now that's bad.
  3. I was going to say "quite a bit", but in hindsight, I think they increased by pattern recognition skills more, since I played a few RPGs before I could even read, but managed to get decently far in them by recognizing patterns, skills, character stats, etc.
  4. I've always been partial towards A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Nightmare Before Christmas myself, although the latter is usually considered a Halloween movie, I think.
  5. And Commander Cosmo, who bravely defended earth from the Blood Aliens of the 8th dimension!
  6. The TF2 fanbase has kind of made me refuse to go to any other gaming forum and kind of made me stop enjoying video games at all. Non-stop drama, complaining, people posting porn, gore, CP, kids dying, etc, in the help forums, people scamming others out of 30,000 dollars worth of hats, etc. It was all to much to take after four years of dedicated playing.
  7. To give. I feel really awkward and guilty when I get presents, since I tend to be stingy with my own money. (legit, I just asked for a box of Q-Tips from my sister this year because I don't want people to spend time/money on my gifts) How old where you when you found out Santa wasn't real?
  8. It's probably just a space name they came up with on the fly to make it sound cool. Words evolve over time, while Cosmos originally meant that, it's just a word for space that is sometimes used to refer to the universe in some contexts in today's language.
  9. Dude, I feel you! I've been working on a timeline for this series too and it is SUCH A HEADACHE! Thanks to retcons, Lyra has been an adult, teenager, college student and filly all at the same time! That said, I've collected some pretty cool notes on the overall chronology of the series so if you'd like, I can share them with you. Anyway. I remember vaguely hearing from a writer that Equestria is approximately as big as the USA. Using this calculator, a rough straight distance of the USA is about 4188 km. Average walking speed for people is apparently about three miles per hour (4.8 km/h). This is a pretty big low ball estimation since ponies have consistently shown to be able to move at pretty crazy speeds, like literally walking to the moon in a few minutes during Nightmare Rarity (granted it was closer but it was still a thousand or so kilometers away by my calculations) 4188 / 4.8 = 872 hours of continuous movement. Of course, this doesn't factor in breaks, sleeping and other necessities.
  10. The 2016 holiday special almost did that, since it starts with Twilight and Spike leaving their family house during the holidays. Not an episode, but Issues 11 and 12 had good Celestia/Cadance interactions, with Celestia acting like Cadance's cool mom during the Fall Formal. As for the Family Appreciation thing, Legends of Magic implies they don't really have a family outside of each other and Starswirl (whose more of an adoptive father than teacher like he claimed). I always assumed King Leo and Prince Blueblood were only related to them through honorary family. Though King Leo is probably super retconned by this point.
  11. Steam Community User Discussions (S.C.U.D.) and Wikipedia are the worst I've personally been exposed to. Wikipedia is just a headache of bureaucracy and I had to quit using S.C.U.D. for my own sanity after it devolved into people doing highly unethical and illegal stuff to just spite people they didn't like.
  12. Me and some guys on a forum somehow managed to all join the same team in TF2 (before they made that a feature), play as pure Combat Medics and somehow kick the enemy teams ass, with me being the most dominant force (I main Medic) Also beat Pokemon Fire Red with just a Farfetch'd. It might sound kinda cool, but it was actually stupidly easy after awhile since my level got high level to one-shot and out-speed virtually everything...
  13. I started calling my best friend "homie" and "homeslice" as a joke a few years ago but it stuck. Otherwise I just call most of my friends "dude" (even my female ones) though I sometimes greet my best friend with "How do you do, Mr. Weeaboo?" in our steam chats.
  14. Yeah, Equestria is on a planet called Earth, but the geography doesn't match real earth at all. The official Map of Equestria depicts The Frozen North, Equestria and The Mysterious South as one, massive, north-to-south pole spanning mega continent. Earth as seen in "Nightmare Rarity" consistently depicts Earth as having different continents. We see a globe depiction of Earth in "The Fall of Sunset Shimmer" as well, with weird continents once again. Haven't watched the 86 film yet so I can't comment there. I always got the impression that the world where Megan lived and the Pony world were different places all together but again, haven't watched to much of G1 yet (slowly making my way through it). As for the languages, Languages in Equestria is weird. English, Japanese, Nahuatl, French, Chinese (I think), Akkadian, Scythian, Greek, Latin, etc, have all been spoken or displayed in some way. I'm not really sure what to make of it, since there don't seem to be civilizations that primarily speak those languages All that said, I think Equestria Girls planet can fit in this theory really well, though. It has Earth-like geography, a similar cosmology, and a weird obsession with horses is present in its architecture and cultural sites. I mean, they still live in a country called "Equestria", which implies some sort of special connection with horses. Oh well. Infinite multiverse, infinite possibilities.
  15. I haven't watched enough of the original cartoon or G3 stuff to really argue otherwise, but I know Tales for sure can't fit. Tales takes place on Earth. We see a globe of the world in "The Masquerade", which shows North America, Asia, Australia, etc, and Bon Bon fantasizes about going to Paris in the same episode. Also, in Tales, the planet Mars ("Impractical Jokers") exist, while in FiM, it's called "Marsh" ("Shadow Locke") though it could've just been renamed so that's not really a good piece of evidence. Yet again, in a world of magic and Chaos Lords, whose to say it all doesn't take place in one timeline?
  16. Lots. When I was a kid, I had this philosophy of "if a game got a sequel, then the sequel is probably like the original but better". My first Crash game was Warped, never even saw footage of Crash 1 until a lets-player group I followed did the three games in preparation for the N-Sane Trilogy. My first Pokemon game was Ruby/Sapphire, but the first one that got me hooked was Gold/Silver. Never actually beat the original RBY games now that I think about it. My first Digimon game was Digimon World 3/2003, which was a good introduction when I was a kid, but looking back on it, it was pretty awful. I think my first Final Fantasy game was three (original), though the first one I owned was the first one on Virtual Console. I think my first Donkey Kong game was Country 2, but I can't remember since my old daycare had both Country 1 and 2. First one I owned was 3 when my sister's boyfriend gave me his SNES for my birthday. And lastly, my first Persona game was 4, then 5, then 4 Golden, then 3, and eventually Innocent Sin down the line.
  17. I'm not one to scream "SJW agenda" but yeah, I couldn't really get into the new She-Ra cartoon. Super generic, unappealing character designs with no rhyme or reason and bright pastel colors that legitimately hurt my eyes half the time. Only watched an episode before I stopped so I can't say if it got much better but it's not something I want to keep up with. I'm confused as to why people are saying it's such a monumental thing for She-Ra to get her own show...when she had her own show in the 80s.
  18. In general, I think I prefer the EQG variants a bit more. More toned down, grounded and not as animated as their pony counterparts. Though that could be due to the fact that EQG tends to be more consistent in characterization than FiM media...I prefer the FiM versions of the CMC and Spike though The chronology of Sunset's life is really weird. In "The Fall of Sunset Shimmer", we see her as an adult mare when Twilight was just a filly, but when she entered the EQG universe, she became a teenager. Yet, in the first Equestria Girls special, we see pictures of her...as a human kid. I chose to stop trying to piece it all together a long time ago (and this is coming from a guy working on a timeline for this entire series).
  19. I'm in that weird part of North Carolina where about half the people I know have those stereotypical country accents while the other half do not. I don't really have the "country accent", but it comes out sometimes. My parents have subtle ones, and so do my sisters. Sometimes I speak with the twang (it was more prominent when I was younger) but for the most part, I don't. That said, one of my dads friends sounds just like Boomhauer.
  20. "Fairly Oddparents Merlin" That whole episode where Timmy and co traveled back to the Arthurian age was my favorite. "I CAN SEE...I CAN FIGHT! "(*instantly dies*)
  21. Old: -I talk like an old person. My sister and now even my parents tease me for using "old man" language. Oh well. -I regularly say "I've been doing "X" since before you were even born to my niece. -My sister, being a teacher, rants about her students (high schoolers) constantly using new memes and slang that I have no clue about. -My 50 year old dad complains that I'm "technotarded" since I mostly use older technology. -I'm starting to get the "things were better when I was a kid" thoughts, mostly about video games, and that's starting to freak me out -When I was 18, a guy on a forum I went on thought I was in my 30s due how I speak and type. Young: -I consider myself "young at heart", I like reading comic books, watching cartoons, eating candy and collecting toys.
  22. As cliche as it sounds, I would love a pseudo-sequel series that takes place 10-20 years in the future where everyones grown up, settled down, had a family, etc. If we did get a sequel, I would like it taking place in a fairly far removed locale that we don't see much, like Manehattan, Canterlot or Vanhoover. I always really liked grungy, cityscapes as backdrops. Or an actual Equestria Girls on-going series would be nice. Better Together was pretty good (at least it was before it became "The Beach Show") but theirs only so much you can do in 2 minute shorts.
  23. Dang, 200 issues? I've been relying on the scarce online scans on Tumblr and old G1 fansites, which tend to run dry after issue 40, with a few scant story scans from issues 218 and up. I was planning on after I get a few bills paid off, I was gonna start trying to collect some issues for myself and attempt to make scans for them. Hopefully I can find a few myself. I agree with you in there. I've been on-and-off watching G1 episodes. They're fun in the sense that you never really know what you're gonna get with fun little adventures all the time. Just watched Midnight Castle the other day too, Tirek is a downright awesome villain. Better than the G4 interpretation of Tirek I thinks.
  24. The show still has a dedicated following to this day, I'm sure there would be a fair share of people who would go ahead and buy iTunes copies of the episodes, but I guess Hasbro doesn't have much faith in it. I feel like if they would've done it, they would've done it during the "Established 1983" event they did a few months ago. I just want Comixology releases of G1 comic books man, now those are hard to fine now!
