  1. Okay, so I have a very rough knowledge of Fallout, but the premise has always interested me. Would you be okay rping with a novice on the subject?
  2. Feeling restless, Arctica unsteadily rose from her bed. She swayed as her weakened body struggled to reach an equilibrium and she closed her eyes, forcing down the wave of nausea that hit her. Feeling somewhat steady, she opened her eyes and glanced around the infirmary ward. Surprisingly, there weren't a lot of ponies in here.
  3. Arctica began her investigation by asking the local residents if they knew who had written Marble Horns. After about ten interviews, she began to think that no one here knew anything. She felt her heart sink. If she couldn't find someone who knew something, her investigation would end before it had even begun!
  4. Arcitca found the comic pages, disappointed to see that Marble Horns still hadn't updated. She sighed, although she'd come to expect it. After all, it was the very reason she was here. She'd met one of the creators briefly at a convention for aspiring comic artists, a genre of art that Arctica had been carefully testing the waters for a few months now. He'd given her a few tips on her sketches and some other really good advice that Arctica had appreciated. After that, they'd sent a few letters back and forth whenever she was struggling for ideas. He was incredibly kind and patient with her, a task she was well aware wasn't that easy. When Marble Horns had suddenly stopped, she'd sent a letter to make sure he was okay. That was two weeks ago; she hadn't heard back. True, she wasn't really friends with the stallion, but he'd been kind and helpful and she felt she owed it to him to at least figure out what was going on.
  5. Arctica stepped off the train from Manehatten, breathing in the fresh country air. She hadn't been to Ponyville in a while, having only ever come by to drop off orders from her parents cafe. Understandably, this didn't happen very often. Arctica adjusted her saddle bags nervously and headed into the station and out the other side into Ponyville. On her way through, she picked up a local newspaper and began flipping through it as she headed up the street. Specifically she was looking for the comic pages and a strip called Marble Horns.
  6. Too injured to follow Mist, Arctica lay in her bed in the infirmary at their base. Her right foreleg lay stretched out, covered in a bright cast. In addition to that, she had a few stitches in her ear and above her eye as well as wrappings around her ribs for the few cracked ones. She was lucky to escape that rockfall with as few injuries as she had. Although, could it really be considered a rockfall when the rocks were shoved onto her by an enemy?
  7. Finally, Eros stopped outside a large wooden door. Said door was open just a crack and light flickered out into the hall, obviously from a fire. Bellatrix, Sergio's chamberlain, sat at her desk outside the office reading a book. She glanced up as the four of them reached her and smiled in greeting as she closed her book. "Good to see you all well," she greeted, rising to warmly hug Virgil. "Good to see you too, Bella," he returned, hugging her in response. "Your father's waiting for you. In fact, he's probably already heard your approach." "Thanks, Bella."
  8. "Hi!" Eros chirped, turning and bounding inside. Virgil sighed, shaking his head and smirking. That filly had boundless energy. They entered into the main foyer as Eros flew down a hall to their right, the group just catching sight of her black and pink tail turning the corner. A few staff members were moving through the foyer, cleaning or carrying papers and supplies to other ends of the town hall. Virgil followed after his little sister, the four of them passing several more staff members. Eros flew ahead of them, occasionally hovering while she impatiently waited for them to catch up.
  9. As they climbed the hill leading up to the town hall, they were hailed by two guards standing outside the gate and holding spears. "Your sister has already informed us of your arrival, Captain," the one of the left said. "The governor is waiting for you in his office." Virgil dipped his head in acknowledgment and continued through the gate and into the courtyard of the town hall, a massive brick building encircling a garden with a cobbled path leading up to the main entrance. Eros stood on the long porch, just before the door. Or rather she pranced there, clearly impatient for them to reach her.
  10. Okay, I'm gonna be on the otherside. If we need more characters, you could check my others out on my blog in my sig. I dunno if any of them would fit, but I'll leave that up to your discretion.
  11. Still looking for more? All my characters are in my blog in my sig. Arctica might be the best fit for this kind of rp, though

    Eros

Name: Eros Age: 8 Gender: Female Species: Pegasus Description: Roughly average height like her younger twin, Eros is just an inch or so taller than he. Being twins, they look fairly alike, though Eros is slightly of a slightly darker color, and the obviously black where he has white. And, y'know, the whole unicorn pegasus thing... Like her brother, Eros hasn't earned her cutie mark yet. No one's really sure what it'll be, though they imagine it'll have something to do being reckless. Personality: Eros can basically be summed up into one word: Daredevil. She loves pushing herself to her limits and testing her abilities. She also happens to be a bit of a trouble magnet, but is almost always able to find a way out of her predicaments. She's pretty well aware of her ability to attract danger and tries her best to keep others out of it. She always puts others first, but not out of a low self worth. She genuinely cares for people and wishes to see them unharmed, a trait she learned from both her parents. Backstory: Born and raised in Puerto Seguro to Captain Sergio the Soulless and Sandra, Eros and her twin brother have spent their entire lives around pirates. Being the children of the governor, they're usually either treated with respect and tolerance or avoided altogether so as to not anger the governor. Anyone who has ever laid a hoof on them has always come to regret it. Eros spends most of her time down by the docks, talking to pirates, retired and current, to learn all she can about pirating. She wants to eventually join her older brother Virgil's crew, though she knows she can't quite yet. When she's not doing that, she's most likely to be seen racing through the skies over Puerto Seguro with the other pegasi.

    Eris

Name: Eris Age: 8 Gender: Male Species: Unicorn Description: Average height for his age and growing all the time, Eris is just slightly shorter than his twin sister, a characteristic he hopes to soon overcome. Hell, he'd settle for just being the same height! He's often mistaken for being blind, partially because of their grey/black color, mostly because of the 'glazed' look they seem to have. Actually, he's only partially blind. He can make out differences in light and occasional shapes, but that's it. Mostly he uses his horn to maneuver around through a form of echolocation involving vibrations. Eris hasn't earned his yet, though most ponies in Puerto Seguro are pretty sure he'll get something involving healing given that he spends most of his time with the town healers. Personality: Like any kid, Eris is interested in the world around him, always curious about how things work. He's adventurous and loves to explore, usually leading him into some sort of trouble. Thankfully, Eros is usually there to help him out. He can be rebellious at times, but is usually pretty responsible and obedient. He's also very helpful, always willing to go out of his way for another pony. He's determined when it comes to solving problems, mostly by working around them. Backstory: Born and raised in Puerto Seguro to Captain Sergio the Soulless and Sandra, Eris and his twin sister have spent their entire lives around pirates. Being the children of the governor, they're usually either treated with respect and tolerance or avoided altogether so as to not anger the governor. Anyone who has ever laid a hoof on them has always come to regret it. Eris spends a lot of his time with the healers of the town, learning all he can from them. In fact, he's there so often that the most ponies have begun placing bets on when his healing cutie mark will appear. When it does, he'll most likely join his older brother Virgil's crew.

    Virgil

Name: Virgil Age: 20 Gender: Male Species: Earth pony Description: At average height and rather stocky, it's more his cold demeanor that puts people off when they meet Virgil. No one knows where the few scars on his face came from, though many rumors have started on the topic. His tattoos come from a witch doctor in the southern seas who enchanted the ink to give him better sailing knowledge, making him one of the premiere captains to sail the seas. He has a single gold ring through his right ear which was a gift from his father, Eris, intended for when he was 10. Given how events proceeded, he ended up getting it when he was 7. The twin cutlasses on his flank represent his expert fighting abilities and probably also his 'unofficial' status as a buccaneer. Personality: Virgil is a master at hiding his feelings. Mostly he does it for others, whether to help them remain calm or to let them freak out. He tends to internalize everything and most people find it hard to read him. Despite all that, Virgil is a very warm and affectionate person. He's loyal and dependable, able to keep a level head even in the worst situations. He does what he says he will, no matter what it costs him. He always puts others first, whether it's his crew or his family, though to him they're one in the same. Consequentially, Virgil tends to take the blame for anything that goes wrong with things he's involved in, whether or not it was actually his fault. He always has an open mind when it comes to planning and is very much an 'out of the box' thinker. He's resourceful and inventive, whether it's with his sword, his crossbow, hoof to hoof, or just a simple trap. He'll use anything and everything. Backstory: Born and raised on a small island somewhere in the southwestern seas, Virgil has always been around ships and the ocean. His village was a small one with only a basic fighting force, leaving them completely unprepared for an invasion from pirates. A lot of the inhabitants were killed, including Virgil's father, Eris. The pirates took over, making the island their base. The base grew over a short time, becoming a safe port for pirates from all over. The captain of the original invading crew, Sergio the Soulless, became the 'governor' of the new port, dubbing it Puerto Seguro and creating a naval force of his own personal pirates, each boated commanded by a member of his old crew. Being a young colt of just 4 at the time of the invasion, Virgil grew up under the rule of Sergio. Contrary to his handle, Captain Sergio was actually a rather fair governor after his takeover. He placed the remaining inhabitants under his protection, harshly punishing anyone, in or out of his crew, who dared to lay a finger on them. He took all the foals under his wings, and he had rather expansive wings, and taught them how to fight, sail, and basically be a pirate. He took a particular shine to Virgil, probably because of the liking he took to the young colt's mother, a gentle unicorn by the name of Sandra. Of course, after invading and even with the addition of his kind and protective nature as a governor, Sergio had to work rather hard to earn the favor of Sandra. He succeeded eventually, mostly with the help of Virgil who had also become fond of the pirate captain. So, at the age of 8, Virgil found himself the step-son of one of the most powerful pirates in the southwestern seas. With this new status, Sergio and Virgil devoted more and more time to the colt's training as a pirate, the former determined to pass on his favorite ship, The Ruthless Lass, onto his new son. Along the way, Virgil found himself with two new siblings: Eris and Eros, twin unicorn and pegasus respectively. When he turned 16, after having earned the respect, and a decent amount of reverence and fear, of most of the pirates in his step-father's territory, Virgil was finally deemed the captain of The Ruthless Lass. He quickly gathered his initial crew of his closest friends and allies and took to the seas, collecting more crewmembers as time went on. Before long, he found himself as one of the most feared and legendary pirate captains, standing right up beside his step-father.
  15. Name: Arctica Superion Age: 18 Gender: Female Species: Unicorn Description: Standing at roughly average height, Arctica would probably go unnoticed if it wasn't for her bright blonde mane and tail. They tend to make her stand out. And even if they didn't, her ice blue coat probably would. Her storm grey eyes tend to switch between 'angry' and 'mischievous', both of which have the tendency to put ponies off. With her purple shield crossed by a black sword, Arctica's family, parents especially, thought for sure she would be part of the Royal Guard. She shot that idea down quick by being kicked out for fighting. Arctica's certain her mark means protection, but maybe not the way her family seems to think. Personality: Arctica can be a very stand offish pony, mostly because she finds she has a hard time trusting strangers. That's not to say she's unkind; she's more than willing to help someone in need. Although, she does have a bit of a temper, especially when her loved ones are involved. Arctica is incredibly protective of her friends and family, going so far as to get aggressive with anyone who seems to wrong them. That said, she's gotten a lot better at controlling herself. Her filly years were not as pleasant. She's also very instinctive, often acting on her gut feeling without fully thinking her actions through. She also prefers to use brute force over magic which mostly explains the number of assault charges she's been landed with over the years. Nothing to serious, just defending some honor. Backstory: Born and raised in Manehatten as the youngest, and arguably the scrappiest, of five siblings, Arctica has always been a tough filly. In school, she constantly found herself getting into fights with the others foals over often innocent slights. More often than not, these were slights against her brothers and sisters. Her parents repeatedly got after her for the fighting, but the lectures never took. Arctica was more than willing to take the punishment for protecting her siblings. Arctica struggled with school for her first few years, not just because of her fighting. The young filly found it hard to sit still and understand what she was being taught. Her older brother, the one who was just a grade above her, helped her with her homework and learning ways to help remain focused in class. This helped her through her school years, resulting in her graduating in the top 5 of her class. Arctica wasn't dumb, she was rather smart actually, but her brain sometimes had trouble comprehending instructions and lessons. After graduating, Arctica was set on going to art school, the one subject she had never required help for. Unfortunately, her parents had other ideas. Because of her cutie mark, they believed she belonged in the royal guard. Arctica did not agree and proved her point by getting kicked out just 2 weeks in because of fighting. Since then, she's been working out of her parents' cafe, doing her best to keep her head down and her nose clean while she tries to find an art school suitable for her.
  16. "You're gonna go see papa?" Eros asked excitedly. "C'mon then! Let's not keep him waiting!" She took to the air, racing up towards the town hall. Virgil sighed, trotting after her with Alric and Syren in tow.
  17. "Are you sure? Equestria is quite a ways away from Puerto Seguro," Virgil informed her. "It's completely up to you. I can get you in touch with some blacksmiths and inventors around town. I'm sure some of them would be willing to help you."
  18. "Hi, Luna!" Eros greeted, flapping her wings excitedly. "Are you my brother's girlfriend?" Alric and Syren snorted in laughter as Virgil sighed and placed a hoof to his forehead. "Eros, not every mare you see me with is my girlfriend." "Why not?" Eros asked, turning back to face him. "You need one! You haven't dated anyone since you and Joss broke up." "Eros, that was barely a week ago," Virgil groaned.
  19. "That would be Virgil's little sister, Eros," Alric informed her. Virgil and Eros finally separated, the former ruffling the filly's hair. Eros dodged away, giggling, bumping into Luna's foreleg. "Sorry!" she said, whirling around to face the new pony. Not recognizing her, Eros tilted her head curiously. "Who're you?"
  20. "Virgil!" a voice squealed as a dark brown, black and pink shape plowed into the stallion from above. Virgil chuckled, just barely managing to catch Eros before she drove them both to the ground. He hugged the filly close as she nuzzled into his chest, grinning happily.
  21. The docks were busy as per usual, but they were nothing compared to the town. Ponies, pirate and resident, crowded the streets, calling out to each other or shouting. As they walked the cobbled streets, a pony came flying out of one of the many taverns. Said pony stood, swaying drunkenly before stumbling off, probably to find another tavern willing to take him in. Virgil continued past unphased, silently shaking his head. He would never understand the call to drink. He couldn't stand the taste of alcohol.
  22. "The captain's home?" Alric asked, not quite understanding the question. "It's at the top of the town, near the town hall." "And it's quite a walking distance," Virgil added, cutting off anymore distractions. He moved to the rail and leaped down to the dock, quickly followed by Syren.
  23. Virgil gave one of his few small smiles. "No need, miss. We were more than happy to help." Before he could continue, a blue pegasus landed near them, offering Virgil a salute. "The Governor is waiting for you at your home, Captain Virgil. He wants you to bring your rescue with you." Virgil nodded confirmation. He figured news would've gotten to his step-father by now. The pegasus saluted again and took off.
  24. "Ah, Ms. Luna. I hope you had a good rest, short as it was," Alric greeted. Virgil and Syren looked at the new unicorn, the latter smiling in greeting and waving. "Pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Luna," the first mate greeted, giving a polite salute.
