  1. The docks were busy as per usual, but they were nothing compared to the town. Ponies, pirate and resident, crowded the streets, calling out to each other or shouting. As they walked the cobbled streets, a pony came flying out of one of the many taverns. Said pony stood, swaying drunkenly before stumbling off, probably to find another tavern willing to take him in. Virgil continued past unphased, silently shaking his head. He would never understand the call to drink. He couldn't stand the taste of alcohol.
  2. "The captain's home?" Alric asked, not quite understanding the question. "It's at the top of the town, near the town hall." "And it's quite a walking distance," Virgil added, cutting off anymore distractions. He moved to the rail and leaped down to the dock, quickly followed by Syren.
  3. Virgil gave one of his few small smiles. "No need, miss. We were more than happy to help." Before he could continue, a blue pegasus landed near them, offering Virgil a salute. "The Governor is waiting for you at your home, Captain Virgil. He wants you to bring your rescue with you." Virgil nodded confirmation. He figured news would've gotten to his step-father by now. The pegasus saluted again and took off.
  4. "Ah, Ms. Luna. I hope you had a good rest, short as it was," Alric greeted. Virgil and Syren looked at the new unicorn, the latter smiling in greeting and waving. "Pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Luna," the first mate greeted, giving a polite salute.
  5. It took them about fifteen minutes to reach the floating guard posts and another five to actually enter port. Virgil watched as his crew, experienced and well versed in the ship, lowered the sail and let the ship drift into its typical dock. Several crew members leaped off onto the dock, moving to tie her down. Several more threw canvas over the rail to protect the ship against any scratches or dents from the wood of the dock. His ship safely docked and his crew gathered below him, with the exception of those who'd tied down the ship who now waited on the dock, Virgil nodded in approval. "You have a week on shore, perhaps more. If we leave sooner, you know the drill." "Yes sir, Cap'n!" the crew answered as one, their voices creating a yell. Dismissed, they all gathered their stuff from below decks and headed off into the town of Puerto Seguro, leaving their captain, first mate, and healer behind.
  6. "Nearing port!" the new scout yelled. Virgil glanced up, shading his eyes with a hoof and squinting to make out who it was. The black and green mane told him it was Dirk. He turned back to facing forward, his squinting gaze just picking up the dark sliver on the horizon that marked land. It was still quite a ways off, but he waved to Dirk to let him know the captain saw it.
  7. "We'll see if we can get her back on her way once we reach port," Virgil said, confirming Alric's earlier statement. Scout reached them, having been relieved by the one of the other lookouts. "Sea looks clear for now," he reported. Virgil nodded, giving Scout his leave.
  8. Alric chuckled. "She's all yours. You know where to find us if you need anything." He turned and left, closing the door behind him and heading up to the main deck. He moved to join his captain and first mate at the helm. "How is she?" Virgil greeted. "She's resting and appears to be unharmed. She said she was heading to Equestria to find her missing sister," Alric informed him.
  9. "Why don't you get some rest in here?" Alric suggested. "I can guarantee you won't be disturbed." Aries preceded his master out while Alric waited for Luna's answer. Above decks, Virgil had retaken the helm from Syren who now stood beside him. "What do you plan to do about her?" the pegasus asked. "Take her with us back home, find a way to get her where she was going," Virgil replied.
  10. Alric shook his head, smiling reassuringly. "It's alright, my dear. After all, we won't be able to help you otherwise. I'm sure once we get to Puerto Seguro, the captain will be more than willing to take you to Equestria."
  11. "How long ago did your sister leave for Equestria?" Alric asked. He lifted the towel out of the boiling water and squeezed the excess out of it with his magic, passing it over to her with the instruction, "Place it over your neck. It'll help your body reach the right temperature."
  12. "May I ask why you were going to Equestria? It seems as if you were doing well on your island," Alric asked as he passed a small hooftowel over to Aries. His assistant placed it in the pot of water while his master gave a dry one to Luna to clean herself off with.
  13. "Were you a healer before you took off for Equestria?" Alric asked as he gathered a few towels. Aries heated some water over their fire pit, a creation of Alric's magic that wouldn't catch the ship on fire.
  14. -Virgil stayed above. Sorry if I made that confusing. I'm kinda brain dead today "Name's Alric, my dear," the grey unicorn answered. "This is my assistant, Aries." The beige earth pony dipped his head in response as they entered the infirmary, Alric opening the door with his magic and holding it open while the other two entered.
  15. Anyone on here in or has been in Sociology? 'Cause I could really use some help figuring out which part of the ASA Code of Ethics the Stanford Prison Experiment broke. I already got them not allowing participants to leave, and I think not informing them of all the risks, though that last one is still a bit sketchy. Anyways, I need 4 CoE that they broke, if anyone can help!
  16. "I take it you're the only survivor," Virgil concluded, not really waiting for a response. He turned to Alric, his commanding gaze prompting the healer to speak. "She seems to be unharmed, though we should warm her up," he suggested. "No pony can be healthy after spending a night in the ocean." Virgil nodded silent agreement which Alric took as permission to move along. He gestured for Luna to follow him and Aries as they headed below to the bunks and the infirmary.
  17. Alric stepped forward to examine her for injuries. He was a rather old unicorn, though his healing knowledge was second to none. Aries was almost as skilled as his master. Said earth pony stepped forward with a blanket clutched in his teeth, tossing it over the rescued unicorn once Alric had finished his examination. Virgil handed off the helm to his first mate, a dark maroon unicorn named Syren, and headed toward the bow where they were all gathered. His crew members stepped aside smoothly to admit him until he came to a halt before the rescued pony. "Who are you and what happened?" Virgil asked. -FYI, I know nothing about boat terms, so I'm looking a lot of these up. Sorry if they're wrong
  18. Joss flew back towards the ship, carefully trailing the pony below her. A ladder was thrown down over the side for the pony to climb up as Joss landed on the railing, rope still clutched in her teeth. Several of the crew stood around the top of the ladder, one of them obviously being their healer, Alric, and his assistant, Aries.
  19. "Pony ahead!" Scout, the lookout pony, called out. "Just off port side!" "Joss, grapple," Virgil ordered, his moderate and commanding voice easily reaching to the pegasus in question. Joss salute and grabbed her grapple flying out on Scout's direction towards the stranded pony.

    private Safe Port

The skies above were clear and blue, the seas below calm and and steady. Standing at the helm of The Ruthless Lass, Captain Virgil gazed out upon the ocean, breathing the salty air deep into his longs. The young stallion would never tire of this feeling, that of being a pirate. Although, the storm last night had been rather rough. They'd lost a few supplies, though thankfully the ship had escaped with only a few scrapes and minor injuries. They were all easily fixed and wouldn't stop the crew from making their way back to Puerto Seguro. All was calm and right in his world.
  21. Arctica lifted an eyebrow curiously. "Can we help you?" Actually, she'd rather not, but politeness had been drilled into her as a filly, so she found herself often acting accordingly. Not exactly the ideal criminal attitude.
  22. "Yeah, those things are freaky, dude," Arctica agreed, looking around in case any of said guards had suddenly appeared. It was irrational, sure, but those guards seriously gave her chills. Maybe it was the lack on sentience in the things that were supposed to 'watch' them, who knew.
