  1. It's pretty crazy seeing how much a community changes in such a short amount of time. I became sectional staff 8 months ago and a lot of people that I remember from back then have mostly moved on. It's a sad reality but that's how things are. I haven't really been as active as I was all the way back then either due to a multitude of factors.

It's an interesting thing to think about, I'll tell you what. :twi:

The forums changing is a good thing though. Yes, I like familiarity, but it would get stale after awhile without new people coming in.

I don't disagree entirely. Gaining new members is great, but when all is said and done, this is still the same MLPF I am familiar with... minus the members which made me enjoy it. This is the primary reason I believe MLPF has slowly been bleeding out; people become enthralled with communities due to its members... and once they are out of the equation, the appeal withers away relatively quickly, even if the newer members are amazing people in their own right.

I do agree that I should be more open-minded, however. The entire reason I initially enjoyed MLPF so much was that it was new and fresh for me... so it would be rather hypocritical of me to be champion the status-quo. I am notoriously bull-headed, however, so this tendency shouldn't be too much of a surprise. :D I will likely attempt to re-integrate myself into MPLF in the near future either way, so we shall see what comes of that.

Things definitely have changed. I'm on the forums for almost 3 years now, many ponies have left, some came (including you I guess ^_^ ) ~ and the forums looked pretty differently back then, especially before the V4 upgrade of the forum soft. It's hard to put into words what exactly changed, as pretty much everything remained the same, yet if feels different. :ooh:
