This world we live in makes me fairly cynical. I can't trust any company anymore with advertising since I know most of it is bullshit and is just pushing to make a quick buck. I really wish it wasn't this way, but it is.

It is quite easy to succumb to cynicism in the modern day, truly. When all is said and done, I attempt to keep a cautiously optimistic perspective, in spite of everything wrong with the modern world. In spite of what you may read on the news, the world is gradually becoming a better place to live, and many steps are being taken to solve many modern issues facing society.
Ultimately, I find it best to remain optimistic... but to also know who your friends are, and to chose your battles wisely. At least in that case, you can't say you failed. 
... Either way, I am terribly sorry if this comes across as sanctimonious.
No matter how I word it, it comes across as snobbish.
