    So, my day today is going to consist mostly of messing around Linux Mint and getting my new car. Not a bad day to be fair, so far.

      New car sounds good. I am swapping the rotating rust on my laptop for a shiny new SSD so am watching DD slowly count up in gb :)

      Corruption in the iso should be easy enough to check - grab the md5sum file from the download site, then checksum the iso.

      (not seen any issues running mint in vmware, virtualbox or qemu, hyperv traditionally does badly with linux though if you are using that)

      I use LXDE. Simple, for me it is good so far.

      just reinstalled kali with lxde - but almost instantly disabled that with multi-user.target :)
