  1. Why did Sunset Shimmer go back to "80s/early 90s biker chic villain"? Twi looks like a dork and although she's been described as "adorkable", it looks dated despite that style kinda coming back with hipsters. Pinkie and AJ look pretty generic but it is nice to see an update to their outfit. Rarity looks like "high fashion business mom" which kinda works? Fluttershy and Rainbow probably have the best outfit updates. I love Rainbow actually getting out of skirts and Fluttershy actually getting something that matches her nature/flowy personality. I guess, overall, I like the updated outfits but somehow they feel...dated? Like the leather jackets, gaudy prints, and the weird inconsistency with the outfits that I can't pinpoint. I am glad we moved out of the generic "one outfit to rule them all" that was going on with the movies.
  2. Well, in terms of injuries I did to myself, I stabbed myself with a pickaxe in my foot because I was a stupid, unsupervised kid. I ended up passing out from shock trying to bandaid (lol) it up. My mom thought I was dead and she still insist I was the biggest hazard to my own health in my childhood because that's not the ONLY ER visit from my childhood. Still surprises her that I made it to adulthood.
  3. I don't really bathe. Everytime, I end up kinda feeling squick about it but I can dig showers. I usually blast myself with hot water, suds up really quick, and rinse before switching to something colder. I like standing in cool, running water but the hot water makes me feel like I'm actually getting clean so it's a necessary evil.
  4. We have a physical calendar in the hall that is used to write important information. Doctors appointments, Parent-Teacher conferences, interviews, meetings, etc. It is actually required that if you need to time that you write it down so that others in the household can accommodate it. If you don't write it down, don't be surprised if no one is willing to give you a ride/watch the kid(s)/whatever. I've tried to implement Google Calendar or something similar so we can sync our calendars but no one friggin' uses it so I gave up and stuck to the paper calendar.
  5. Whoops, should've checked the date but I'm glad you figured it out! Sociology is fun, I have no idea why I picked Computer Science as my degree lol.
  6. I just left my job but what I like beside the obvious (money), it was a great way to pass the time. Kept me busy and I was mobile a lot more. I liked a lot of my coworkers and though I felt no loyalty for the company itself, I feel bad for leaving them behind. Otherwise, I loathed almost every other aspect of the job. Managers that wouldn't listen, customers that were downright hateful, and the fact it was a graveyard shift. It was a constant battle of being overexhausted, underpaid, and pissed off.
  7. Green tea. I LOVE me some mildly sweetened green tea.
  8. I used to be much more active (3-5 times a week) but my "limit" is 15mins on the elliptical, 1.5 miles walk/job on the treadmill, 50 crunches, and some other core exercises. I occasionally throw in some arm workouts but I pulled a muscle really bad once that caused my hand to spasm for about a day so I'm a little more easy when it comes to those kind of exercises.
  9. "It's Quiet Uptown" from the Hamilton Musical. Although you can appreciate it without listening to all of the music before this point it makes it so much heartbreaking when you've followed this play from the start. The song paints a portrait of a grieving family who was already going through turmoil only to have their son, more or less murdered, by some dumbshit who couldn't count to 10 and then when Eliza actually starts singing, it breaks me down man. This animatic is quiet nicely done to illustrate this:
  10. Wasn't there an issue with how they concluded the experiment? It's been awhile since I've studied sociology but I know that there is a sort of "cool down" after an experiment that is performed to inform/assess the patient like a debriefing of sorts; both at a benefit for the experiment and for the patient. They did do something like that but it was years after the experiment "concluded" which made the results debatable and also not properly handling the mental/physical trauma that occurred.
  11. There really isn't a reason to reform him. He's already shown that he's a manipulator that will destroy kingdoms because he can. Like another poster said, his friendliness is a facade and he's arrogant/cheeky because his power is *almost* unmatched. I genuinely think that even if he was stripped of his armies, battleships, and anything of that nature that he would not be able to integrate with society. He'd never get past the "make amends with those you've wronged" stage of Twi's friendship lessons either due to how badly he wronged others and they would (understandably) not forgive him or because he's just too stubborn, maybe both. Even if Hasbro/IDW/Lionsgate thought he was redeemable, I think we've had ENOUGH reformation.
  12. I actually like this kind of personality for a villain. Far too often we have villains full of spite and malice, now-that's-what-I-call-edgy archetypes. With Tempest already being so "my clothes are black, like my soul", it's nice to have someone that seems more light-hearted at times and almost downright friendly. It makes you really on edge because we see that he can go from a kind individual to one that is fearsome and a force to be reckoned with. Nothing is better than a villain that can genuinely catch both the characters and the audience off-guard.
  13. So I'm getting a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys vibe from these...is the 8-11 recommended age accurate? Or would you say it's just as enjoyable for younger/older audience?
  14. I think it's less about the movie and more of the issue that as hyped as many fans are, they know that if they wait a little bit, it will eventually be in a medium that they may prefer. Think about it. Would you rather be able to sit at home, boot up Netflix, and watch the movie on loop for hours without having to buy a ticket per view? Maybe wait for a DVD or Blu-Ray release or even another streaming service? Movie-going is also an expensive thing nowadays; some places charging obscene amounts for a single ticket and if you plan to take family and friends, the cost gets astronomical. Imagine having to spend $9+ (on a single ticket) just to see ONE movie in a crowd of people that may/may not cooperate so your "enjoyment milage" may vary. Some people just want to see the movie, they don't care to have the "experience" by seeing it in a theater.
  15. Hello! New to the forums but not new to the fandom. I mostly collect the comics, watch the show/movies, listen to PonyvilleLIVE!, and play the Gameloft game. I decided to set up an account in case anything came up that required me to talk/comment on but hey, the community looks like it's doing well so I'm more than happy to stay involved. I hope you'll tolerate me well enough! Feel free to message me about anything anytime!
