King of Canterlot

Hey guys! Hope everything has been going well here at the forums! I'm happy to report that as of this past weekend, my younger brother has officially graduated from High School!  He had his graduation ceremony on Friday evening and then we had his graduation party the following day at one of his friends houses. It all went very well and it was a lot of fun to be able to see my grandparents and cousins who I haven't been able to see much of lately too!  Additionally, on Sunday and Monday I got to hang out with @Sliding Bolt and @Lucky Bolt! Lucky was in town from Florida to see Sliding, and just like back in April we all decided to hang out together for a couple of days before Lucky went back to Florida earlier today, so on Sunday we all went out to Stillwater to see this really big car show (it was super hot that day but still a lot of fun- I got some free kettle corn there as well!) and then on Monday we went to the Mall of America and walked around and did some shopping. We didn't ride any of the rides in the amusement park there though, maybe next time we will

I had a great time and I hope to be able to hang out with them again whenever Lucky comes back up from Florida again 

Hey there Divi, I hope you had a wonderful birthday today and got some play time in on your new PS5 too!  Celestia decided to bake you a cake too, but unfortunately it would appear that she has gotten into it  It was too tempting for her not too!  Anyways, hope you had a great birthday my friend and hope you have a great long weekend as well  

Hey guys, how's it going?  I hope you've all been doing well! I know I'm not quite as active as I used to be on here, but I do still try to come on from time to time to see what's been going on However, I still love ponies and that's why I decided to make this status update, I got some brand new custom pony merch that I really wanted to share with you guys! 

I really love both the Wonderbolts and the Shadowbolts, and I think it's rather tragic that neither side was deeply explored in the show- there's sooooo much that I think could have been done with them  So I decided to get some custom Nightshade buttons and prints made! (Nightshade is the captain of the Shadowbolts and she only appears in season one episode two when she and Descent try to tempt Rainbow Dash into joining their flight team). She had a very minor role in the show itself but in many of the Wonderbolt-Shadowbolt fanfics that I enjoy reading (particularly Calm Winds Piercing the Heavens) she plays an integral role as being the main antagonist in many of the stories. Nightshade also appears in some old Wonderbolt tumbler blogs back in the day (again being an antagonist in most of them). 

Sorry for all those words of explanation, but I figured most of you guys wouldn't know who Nightshade is and think that she's an OC or something- she isn't, she is in fact a canon character, she just doesn't get much love so I decided to change that  She's a total badass so she deserves it     

I've been re-watching some older SpongeBob episodes from the early seasons lately so this video popped into my recommend on YouTube and I felt I had to share it with you guys  If you've never seen Attack on Titan you may be slightly confused but it's still really funny 

Anyway I hope you've all been doing well! This is just a funny meme I thought some of you might like, I don't actually have anything substantial to post anymore since I have no more art unfortunately

Ahahahah you guys must really love me, over 163 notifications? I think I'm gonna have to pass reading through them all please forgive me  And yes I am back from Mexico! Me and Twilight had an amazing time, it was so great we got to do so much stuff but we had plenty of time to do it with how long our vacation was. It was great for over a week having my only worries being what buffet I wanted to eat at, if I wanted to go to the beach and build sandcastles or go to the pool and relax  Unfortunately with the way our room was booked by our travel agent we did not have the complementary spa visit included in our stay (which Rarity would have made a big fuss over I'm sure ) but that wasn't a big deal and the resort where we stayed was all-inclusive so I only had to pay out tip money  I took a photo of Twilight in her little sombrero I had bought for her one of the first days we were down there too!  Doesn't she just look adorable? 

I was in Cancun so of course that meant I had to visit one of the seven wonders of the world not too far away for a day-trip excursion off resort property, I took an absolute ton of photos but I'll only post two to keep this from getting too long. The first one is of me standing in front of the main temple of chichen itza (this building is the world wonder!) and it was super surreal to actually be there! (and yes I'm wearing my princess Luna t-shirt because I had to represent ponies somehow!) 

And this photo is of me standing in front of the ancient Mayan observatory that they used to track the moon and the stars, it was quite impressive how advanced they were considering how long ago their civilization existed 

After visiting the Mayan ruins we were taken to this old sinkhole that had been filled up with water and we got to go swimming in it! It was so beautiful with all these tree roots coming down over the edge into the water, there was even a little waterfall that came out of the rocks too it was amazing!  The water was pretty cold though 

The day after we did all the Mayan stuff we went on a boat ride out this small island just off the coast from Cancun, it was great I really loved the island and the beaches were so amazing, the water too was so blue, I took a photo from the boat because I couldn't believe how clean and blue it was! (it was almost as blue as Rainbow Dash!) 

Anyways me and Twilight had a really great time but I was ready to get back home by the end and get back into my own space and my own bedroom, I was starting to miss you guys too  I hope you all had an amazing past week and let me know if you guys want to see more pictures of the Mayan ruins, like I said I took a lot and there's a lot more that I can explain from what I learned but I didn't want this to turn into a stupidly long status update lol  Also now that I'm back you expect to see me around the forums and on Discord again! I'm back and more sunburned than ever!   

Alright you guys, this is it, the final art status update that I'll ever post  I have no more art now, but that's okay, I really hope you guys enjoyed all the past pieces of art that I posted here! So this very last piece of art was essentially the final masterpiece that we had to create for the class, and I'm actually really really happy with how this one turned out, it really looks amazing and I really hope you guys enjoy it!

My painting Approaching Storm is actually based off of this photo that I took when me and my mother went up to Duluth last year- 

And as a bonus I'll include the first draft of this painting as well! 

The only things that I would like to have added on was white-caps to the waves to make the lake look angrier in the face of this oncoming storm, and some darker clouds right underneath the lighter cloud ribbon, but I ran out of time so I never was able to get that stuff added.

Happy April Fools day to everypony!  I hope you've all had a wonderful week so far!  I'm making this status update because I wanted to share with all you guys some neat photos that I took today with @Sliding Boltand @Lucky Bolt! Lucky has recently decided to move up to Minnesota to be with Sliding, so they're both only about 20 minutes away from where I live now!  Lucky even got a new job in the next town over from where I live so she'll be in my area a lot now!  Me and them decided to all meet up today at this steakhouse in the downtown of where I live and we had some big huge burgers and fries and slices of pie! It was really good and I got to meet Lucky for the first time! She's really nice irl and we had a great few hours together, I'm hoping that after this next week the three of us will be able to do some other things together, they're both really great and I enjoyed my time with them!  I took some photos of it too!

It was a fun day today and like I said, I hope to be able to do something with them again another time! 

Also a very important announcement: I will be leaving for Mexico on Saturday, and I won't be back until next Saturday. I'm going go a beach resort in Cancun for my younger brother's high school senior year spring break trip, so I will be completely offline for the next week here. I promise to take all sorts of cool photos of ponies on the beach! We're also going to go to the ruins of Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan city with a huge temple that's on the list of the new seven wonders of the world  It's going to be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to being able to unwind after a year of world turbulence last year  Also I will post my final Art Status update for you all tomorrow, I hope you all like my final piece of art! I worked really hard on it, you'll see!    

Hello everypony! I hope you all had wonderful weekends!  Mine went by fast but that's okay, I'm ready to tackle this upcoming week!  I thought I'd change it up and post my art status update over the weekend instead of during the week like I normally do, also, this will be the second-to-last art status update I'll be making  Over these past several weeks that I've been posting the art updates I've slowly gone though every single piece of art that I made during my art class last semester, after next week (which will be the final piece) I guess I'll find to find something else to make updates for, I don't know what that will be just yet though  Anyways, onto the art! This week I'll a piece that I called "Croquet Scene" and it's essentially working with environments and people, I hope you guys like it!

Happy end of the week everypony! I hope you all had wonderful weeks!  Today me and my mom went down this big regional park not too far from where I live, we've never been there before so it was quite fun to get to walk around the trails and see the sites at this lake (it was a HUGE lake, a lot bigger than I was expecting!) They also had a lot of RV camping spots so I can only imagine how busy the park must been around the fourth of July every summer  So we had some lunch by the lake and then like I said, we walked around for a bit and enjoyed the sites and we also walked down to this bridge that went over the river feeding out of the lake in front of this huge dam, I took some really neat photos of it and some of the cliffs on the lake that I'd like to share with you guys here! 

So these first two photos are of the cliffs on the lake, the first one is of smaller cliffs further away, and the second is of much larger cliffs a lot closer to our side of the shoreline-

Look at these things, they're MASSIVE (also a lot of people like to go cliff jumping here in the summertime)-

Look at those multi-tiered waterfalls! It was really loud but really neat to see!

That's all the photos that I took, I had fun and it was a neat experience, I never knew all this existed so close to my house, in fact we didn't even know the lake was there until I read about it in our county newsletter last week (and we've lived here for like six years now)  lol but I'm glad we went out today and did this, we're hoping in the summertime they rent canoes or kayaks because me and my mom would love to do either out on the lake in the summertime 

I think I'll just wait until next week to post an art status update, I only got two more pieces of art left to show you guys so I'm going to try and drag this out for as long as I can lol 

Hey everypony, hope your all having a great Wednesday!  I've been doing alright as of recently, I've been taking things a bit easy though because I got my wisdom teeth pulled out on Monday so I'm being super careful with what I eat and stuff so as to not hurt my mouth and such  However, this week is also my spring break!  I don't have any classes or anything this week, which is a super nice change for once!  Also, it's that time of the week- time for art day!  This week I'll post a piece of art that I accidentally skipped over, so it won't be as great as some of my more recent works that I've been posting (which were made towards the end of my art class), as this piece was made more in the middle when we were still developing our art skills  This piece also doesn't really have a name, it was more just a working piece to develop and understand how shapes and such work- in case we wanted our final art piece to be more modernist (which mine ended up not being- but you'll see that in a few weeks here) 

Anyway, here it is! I hope you all have a lovely rest of your week!

Okay so for the record- I suck at painting portraits of people  This turned out alright, but I saw what some of my classmates had made and their paintings were about a million times better than what I was able to paint  I tried my best, so oh well

Hey guys I have some good news that I'm really excited about!  I applied to go to MN State, Mankato and I was accepted!  As some of you may know, I'm currently attending a local community college, however, I'll soon be finishing up my Associate of Arts and transferring to a four-year University to get my History Major, with this fall looking like it will be my last semester at the community college before I go to MN State, Mankato for my major! I'm super happy and relived that I got accepted, it feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. It also means that I'll be moving away from home too for the first time ever, so that'll be an experience  Twilight was excited too because she loves learning and also they have a big library down there too!  Anyways, I just wanted to share this exciting news with you all, I'll post my art update tomorrow too!

In other news, it's that time of the week again! Time for my weekly art post!  This week I'll post a piece of art that was made towards the end of my art class last semester (so it looks a lot more well-done than some of the previous works I've posted). This piece is called "Twilight Hours"- after the time of day the painting is depicting and my favorite purple pony princess!  This painting turned out fantastic and the sky turned out exactly how I was hoping it would turn out, the only thing that I would have liked to have added was more detail to the water and grass because they do admittedly look a little flatter than I would like. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy!

I can't say I know what it's like to loose a family member your super close with, especially your dad, but I hope you know that he must have really loved you a lot and would want you to only do the best and succeed in life  He'll still be with you even if he's not here physically anymore, always remember that

Hey everypony, guess what?  Twilight has multiplied once more, though this time she didn't just regenerate as a pony, she regenerated as Sci-Twi from EQG!  That's right, I finally got my hooves on an EQG plushie!

I love how detailed Rainbow Dash is! She even has her name embroidered on the back of her little shirt! 

I'm so happy I finally have both of them! I think to keep them in the best condition though I'm going to keep them on a shelf instead of in my bed, because I'm afraid that I'll accidentally role over them in my sleep and ruin them over time if they're kept in my bed  Anyways, I hope you all had an amazing day today and I promise to post my weekly art update probably on Thursday. I apologize for not posting it last week, but last week the forums wouldn't let me upload any photos from my computer so that kind of sucked     

Hey is anypony else having issues uploading pictures from files on their computer? I got something super cool recently but I'm not able to upload photos of it from my computer into my status update, instead the forums gives me an error message which really sucks because I want to show you guys what I got  

Also this means that I can't upload my art pictures to do my weekly art status update since those are photos that I upload from my computer. Is this only happing to me or is affecting anypony else?

Hey there everypony! I hope you all had a wonderful week!  It's that time again- time to post some art!  This piece of art was created back when we were leaning about perspective and depth in my art class last semester, since this was more of just a study piece I didn't really give it a name, but regardless I still think it turned out fantastic!  What do you guys think? I hope you all like it!     

Wow that took longer than it should have to figure out how to post a new status update  They better bring the button back... 

Forum layout frustrations aside, I hope everypony has had a wonderful week so far!  I've been busy with my classes, they're turning into quite the slog to get through  Can't wait for summer! Though there are some things that I'm super excited about that have come about in the past week here! Me and my friends have decided to start planning a trip to the Wisconsin Dells for an extended "weekend" (we're planning on going during the week though to keep costs down and to avoid large crowds) sometime this summer!  We decided it would be a fun opportunity to just get together for a while and do something fun, also we don't really see each other very often and the Dells is about halfway between where we all live and if you've heard of the Dells or been there, then you'll know there's LOTS to do there!  My friend really wants to do a duckboat tour so that's something we'll have to make sure we do once we're there!  Besides planning a summer trip with my friends I also got some super awesome movies that I bought last week in the mail! Falling Down and Citizen Kane are some of my favorite movies and I decided to get physical DVDs of them to always have and play on my computer! I've heard that Amazon and other digital movie services have claimed that people don't actually "own" a digital version of a movie they buy off of their platforms, hence why I got the physical DVDs, because I don't trust the digital versions now  Anyways, I'm planning on giving Falling Down another watch later this week, maybe tomorrow night or something 

Also, I know I didn't post an art update last week, I completely forgot so I apologize for that  but I think I'm going to hold off on posting an art update until maybe tomorrow just to keep this update from becoming too long, I don't want to dump too much stuff on you guys!  Anyways, have a great night everypony!
