  1. I feel so stupid right now...

     

    Let me explain - up until now, I hadn't really noticed the main difference between composite and component. But now I know that composite is the yellow, red and white wires, like the kind you'd find connected to a PS2 or Nintendo Wii. Component is the red, blue and  green wires (and one white and red for audio, I think), which can be connected to recieve audio and video. 

    So, I was curious why my HD PVR wasn't really displaying anything. I took a closer look at the AV wire I had plugged into the back of it, and that's when it FINALLY hit me - I was trying to connect a composite wire to a component one, and that's why it wasn't showing anything.
