Some complain about her 'unintelligible' accent.

A, You assholes aren't considering that the accent could be hard to do in VA, for even a short amount of time.

B, I think it makes her unique and fits with the Egyptian theme. 

I agree! I don't even think she's difficult to understand.

I actually remember complaints about some characters' accents sounding fake or something – it's a show about talking ponies, is it so weird that their accents may differ from ones in our world?

Like, it's one thing to harsh on accents. 

It's another to complain when characters yell things out in weird ways, to the point of hilariously mocking it.

"And here's the pride and joy of AAAAAAPPLE-OOSA! Our apple orchard."

"Don't ya mean your 'AAAAAAPPLE OR-CHARD'?

Even then, the latter's understandable. We get it, Braeburn's energetic. They like to show it off.
