She could potentially be introduced as an ally with a mysterious dark past as a villain that is gradually uncovered as the series goes on. That would be a new approach for her, while also keeping the deep-seated regret and insecurity that shaped much of her character. Or, they could introduce her as an ally and show her gradual struggle and descent into evil, before being reformed again. Though I feel like that might be a little too dark. Honestly, out of all the characters, I'm most curious as to how, if at all, they're going to incorporate Starlight into Gen 5. There are a ton of different ways they could potentially tackle her backstory. Same here dude. I hope they get a proper send-off.

I’m actually all for Chrysalis reforming. Though maybe that’s just because I’m not as into her as a villain as most fans seem to be. Tirek on the other hand, was an amazing villain. I really enjoyed seeing him be evil and I’m a bit hesitant about reforming him. But then again, I said the same thing about Starlight in Season 5 and now she’s one of my favourite characters so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless of whether or not they have sympathetic reasons they still do evil things, and place their own desires ahead of others. Bad experiences don’t make it OK to be a bad person.

Maybe her neglectful parents didn’t notice her incredible magic potential? That could be possible, especially if she shut herself away from others after Sunburst left.

She seemed pretty powerful in that one flashback from “The Crystalling”. The one where she magically cleans an entire kitchen by herself.

Starlight! Sunset’s redemption arc was awesome, (and I still think that Rainbow Rocks is the best MLP movie so far) but after that I’ve found that Sunset just isn’t particularly interesting. She’s likeable...but that’s about it. Maybe it’s due to lack of screentime. In any case, I still love her and I hope they do more with her. Starlight on the other hand, I find to be much more interesting. She’s a lot more complex, and she struggles a lot more with her flaws. Plus, she still has a lot more room for development, and I’m very curious as to where her character is going next.

I really hope we see Fizzlepop again. Is she still called Tempest? Or should we start calling her Fizzlepop? I didn't find her particularly interesting as a villain, (though her song was AWESOME) but man, I AM STOKED to see what they do with her now that she's reformed. It would be cool if we got like a DVD bonus short or something where we get to see Fizzlepop and Grubber going on little adventures.

Does that mean that my headcanon that Twilight is the closest thing Starlight has had to a supportive parental figure is technically true?

Honestly I think Celestia was planning on making her an alicorn the entire time. I always thought the spell was just kind of a final exam, to prove that Twilight was worthy of becoming an alicorn.

I think I'm one of the few fans who wholeheartedly supports Chrysalis' reformation. PLEASE DO IT WELL THOUGH. And do it more like Discord's or Starlight's or Stygian's. No magical mind-wipe rainbows!

Hopes for Season 8. - Twilight's castle gets destroyed by Tirek and is replaced by a bigger one - Starlight becomes main character - Even MORE Big Mac ships - SpitMac (Spitfire X Big Mac) - NightMac (Night Glider X Big Mac) - DerpMac (Derpy X Big Mac) - GumMac (Gummy X Big Mac) Just keep the ships coming! - Twilight gets another pair of wings so now she's a DOUBLE alicorn - Cadance gives birth to another alicorn baby - Flash Sentry becomes an alicorn OK, serious answer this time. Queen Chrysalis reforming. I'm gonna be honest, I'm one of the few fans who supports this 100%. I want Chrysalis to reform, become bright and colourful and spend the season learning to become a better person with her bestest friend Glimmy. #ChrysalGlim The Cutie Map calling on more non-element characters. This season, we've seen Starlight and Spike called by the Cutie Map. Now, that non-element characters seem to be on the table (get it?) I'd like to see the map continue to call other characters to solve friendship problems. Can you imagine the CMC being called to some faraway place? Or DISCORD being called to fix a friendship problem? Episodes dealing with the Pillars and how they're adjusting to modern Equestria. Specifically, I kind of want to see Flash Magnus meet Ember. Considering his history with dragons, it would be interesting to see how he would react to the newfound peace between the ponies and the dragons. Starlight and Discord episode. I think that's fairly self-explanatory. TARTARUS. I've been wanting to learn more about Tartarus since the season 4 finale, and yet, after 3 seasons we STILL don't know all that much about it. What other prisoners does it contain? Are they all as bad as Tirek? Related to my above point, more villains. As much as I would love to see Chrysalis and Tirek and Sombra to come back (and eventually be reformed), I think it's high time we got a new original villain. The Pony of Shadows was awesome, but he really didn't get to shine much as a villain. In Season 8, I'd like to see more new villains. They don't even have to be in the premiere or finale, they can just appear in some of the regular episodes. Not every villain has to try and destroy Equestria.

Starlight Glimmer. Starlight was a legitimately competent villain who managed to be threatening, entertaining and complex all at the same time. Manipulative and scheming, yet emotionally volatile and twisted to the point of being self-destructive.
