@Samurai Equine I'm not sure
I mean it's in England and most places there are cheaper than Glasgow, beside the entire south east, and Manchester is about the same, but haven't been to Scarborough so can't say heh
-
@The Spitfire Simp I think what you meant to say is "What the hay?! How does an American know about Scarborough?! He's so cool that he knows about these places~!"
LOL. But in all seriousness, thanks for answering my question. Hope things work out for you.
-
@Samurai Equine hahahaha fair as well lol
No problem, and the cost of living in Glasgow is similar to inbetween Atlanta and Miami
Thanks, I had taken a day trip to Edinburgh cause was bored lol and noticed how expensive everything was lol, don't plan to move (though I need to spend more time there soon since the gender clinic I plan to use is there)

My phone struggles to charge ):<
I hope that my phone holds on until my 18th birthday, when I can get a credit agreement on a new phone (i can't afford one outright rn)
hopefully the new iPhone SE comes out that's the same as the iPhone 13 on the inside (since it will let me either not need to upgrade or be able to reasonably give it to someone lol),
but that's just cause I want to make sure a £400+ phone will be as up to date as possible since I'd be paying a lot on it for up to 2 years- Show previous comments 1 more

@Samurai Equine yeah,
I don't want to use my brother's old phone cause it's too small -
@Petrograd Capital
thats the current model, that I cant justify cause its only 5k₽ more to get the iPhone 11, which has Face ID, better color options, and works with airtagsThere's a roumer that theres going to be a new SE out this year, so i'm waiting for that (need to be 18 to get a credit agreement anyway lol), if it has the ability to work will all the features of the airtags then its going to be my new phone, if not then just the iPhone 11, since its still good, just wanted something a little newer cause they cost like 40000₽ here

how do you know you've plugged in an american plug in correctly?
like it doesn't seem to stop you puting it in wrong- Show previous comments 3 more

@The Spitfire Simp It's true some outlet plugs are the same size on both prongs. From what I've seen, it doesn't matter which way you plug it in. At that point, it's universal. I've never had any problems plugging them in one way or the other.
There have even been situations where I plugged something with two-prongs in the wrong way, and it was still fine. So maybe the different prong sizes (and the different sized outlet holes) are just for people who are use to plugs fitting in an exact or specific way. The only time it matters is when it has that third prong.
But don't take my word for it. I'm not an electrician. And phone chargers are an even more complicated thing.
-
@Samurai Equineoh i see
i guess it must have been confusing to me cause here in the UK we have a rigid standard -
Rereading some(nema), there is not supposed to be any "universal" way(or highly discouraged), but those that are, are supposed to be made to work, without issue, either way, and it's not like the "great factory of the east" really cares about standards anyways.
Polarized (one big one smaller) are for larger loads or where "hot" and "neutral" matter, the bigger is the neutral, smaller hot side. Neutral is usually tied to ground too.
The grounded plugs are supposed to be polarized too(so you can't pull the ground pin and use it the other way) and are "being encouraged for wider use".
The only thing dangerous is those "safety outlets" where you about break or bend the prongs trying to plug it in. Good idea, horrible execution, to the point of where people actively avoid using them, even though it is code in some areas.
Its somewhat...amusing isn't the right word, to see European reactions and comments on the NEMA standards in use in North America.

so...
the gender clinic I was trying to get on the waiting list for, has a waiting list to even get onto the waiting list as they have stopped the waiting list after 3 month wait I believeMight try to get on the waiting list for one of them in London but that would require me being in London, and would require having to book a hotel and pay for like £200 train journeys
I hope I'm able to get a session soon so I can start transitioning
