I heard something incredibly mental recently...

The Master System and Mega Drive are still sold and supported by TecToy, in Brazil...
It's just excellent I think that they were able to support and sell a console beyond when lots of us thinking that it was obsolete!

  That's really strange of the law counting everything pretty much as a TV...
  Was the emulation excellent at least?

  MAME is easy to set up; on windows or linux, you just unzip or untar the archive, and run the program. on pi, you just write the retropi image to a µSD card, copy the game files you want available to the same card (or plug in an external USB drive with them on) and boot the pi. In all but the "copy to the card" case, you then need to tell MAME where it can find its game files, but that is just selecting a menu option, then the folder they are in.
