Exactly. There's more to illinois than Chicago. In my opinion, Chicago should be a separate state.

But between Chicago and southern Illinois there is a massive expanse known as iron country. Not because of iron mineral deposits, but because it looks like someone took a clothes iron to it. I always say, on a clear day, I could stand on a coffee can and see Chicago, even though it's 5 hours away by car.

  People ask me questions about Springfield and Urbana, Champaign. I think it's just a thing. Like, you hear someone lives Arizona and you wanna ask about the grand canyon.
