  1. I hate it here. I hate living here. This is the biggest mistake I think I've ever made. What have I done?

@Trottermare Galamane No, I moved back to my home state to my parents house. I have to be here until mid-April for an event. Then I'm hoping to move out west. Until then, I'm stuck here. It's only been three days and I already hate everything. I know I made some complaints about my situation in Japan, but I wish I'd just stayed there. I'm just so unhappy here. Maybe things will be better out west, but I'm not very optimistic about that. Sorry this is all so disjointed,...

I can understand that, moving back to your parents house is never a nice thing even if you are on good speaking terms ¦S all you have to do is endure though as it's not for long ¦)

  2. I've had long hair for over 15 years. When I was 12, I started growing it out. It reached it's maximum length at a bit lower than my hips, and I didn't cut it again (except for maintenance trims) until I was 21. When I turned 21, I thought it was more professional to have it at a more reasonable length, but even then, it was still what most people would consider quite long. I think at around age 24, I just stopped caring. Too much stress to try and find a barber/salon/stylist that I could trust. I just let it grow out and it turns out I'm happier with it completely grown out. That feels the most like me. Now I'm back to maintenance trims and I'm enjoying my long hair.
  3. Finally getting myself caught up on the past two seasons. Wish me luck!

I've been good, thanks! I'm actually moving back to my home state for a bit. I drift in and out of these forums at various times. How have you been?

  4. I'm an American, so the whole of the presidential election and the presidency is pretty terrifying.
  5. "I'll pray for you." Despite the fact that I'm an atheist, I don't care if people wanna pray for me or not. However, that's usually not what people mean when they say this. It's usually a catch-all to dismiss whatever it is you're saying or doing from the guise of being on some moral pedestal or something like that. It's obnoxious. "You'll understand when..." Maybe you tell a kid this for the mere fact that kids (and to a lesser extent, sometimes teens) have less life experience. However, my lack of experiencing what you're experiencing has nothing to do with my sense of empathy. And my capacity to understand is not centered around that experience. Have you ever considered that I just don't hold the same values as you and that's okay? Or that you're simply not explaining it well enough? "You know how [insert group of people here] are." No. I don't know how they are. Please explain it to me in embarrassingly excruciating detail. I'm sure your preconceived notions about how millions of people fit into a narrow-minded world view will be so enlightening. "[insert group] think [ridiculous statement]." No. I don't think that. Nobody thinks that. Why don't you try asking somewhat what they think rather than creating straw men?
  6. In a perpetual and exponentially increasing state of dread since November.
  7. @@LiraCrown, It seems like the biggest problem was the design. I changed the design and the colors I had worked a lot better. I appreciate you going to the trouble to make a custom palette for me, though. And using those colors was part of what helped me realize that the design was what was causing me so much trouble. Thanks for your help! http://bluerazzdesigns.deviantart.com/art/Kladessa-627849250
  8. Aw, it's very cute! I like it a lot. I think it'd be cool to see it in color.
  9. http://bluerazzdesigns.deviantart.com/art/Kladessa-in-different-colors-627362143 I'm having a terrible time trying to come up with a color scheme for this character. The original colors I tried are on the far left. The others, I was just playing around with. I'm not sure I've hit upon anything i like. Can someone let me know what they think? The hair and eye color are fixed. I am not willing to change them. Please ignore the shoes. They're not important. I'll change them once I decide on a color scheme for her dress, cloak and gems. Just for a few things on this character: She's a fire mage. She's reserved, unconfident, serious, pessimistic and uncertain. I haven't decided firmly on a name, though the one I've been running with for the time being has been Kladessa. Originally, I was considering lavender and red, but then I realized that the other main character's color is lavender, so I decided to make Kladessa's main color orange. That's not set in stone, but I'd like to avoid purple and green, as these are colors of two other characters. I'd also like to avoid too much brown or red, because my other characters have a lot of brown and with her own red hair, I feel like a lot of red might be too much. I don't have my heart set on any of the colors. I was just playing around with them to see what I could come up with. If there's some mixing and matching among these colors, that's fine. Or if you have a suggestion for a totally different color scheme, I'm open to that as well. Anyway, I'd appreciate if people could provide their input. Thanks!
  10. The first (and probably last) time I ever went to a club, I really didn't like it. I went outside to get fresh air and be alone. I couldn't be along because the bouncer kept hitting on me, despite my being very clear that I was in a relationship. I'm timid and have a hard time saying no, so we ended up exchanging numbers. The first time he called me, I blocked his number. I felt uncomfortable because I felt like I was clearly giving of "leave me alone" vibes and he just kept talking to me. That, and as I talked, I definitely responded in a way that should have indicated that I wasn't interested, and he just wouldn't listen. So I felt kinda uncomfortable. This other time, I was on a train and this guy came over and sat next to me. I clearly had body language that meant I wanted to be left alone. I was practically curled into a ball, clearly not wanting to talk. Plus, I was listening to music. But he kept talking to me, trying to invite me out, despite me constantly shooting him down. He tried getting my number, and I didn't wanna give it to him, so I told him I'd just moved to the country (I live in Japan) so I didn't have a phone yet. So he asked me to give him the number of my company. Uh, out of bounds, much? Like, fuck that. Why would I give you my company's number for social calls? Don't be daft. And I was very clearly walking away, up the stairs, and he kinda wouldn't leave me alone, despite the fact I was clearly trying to get away, and the station we were at was his stop. No, he followed me toward the train I was going to. Like oh my god, leave me alone! Can't you see I clearly don't wanna talk to you! He almost made me late, too. I took the long way home, just so I wouldn't happen to encounter him on the way back. Super annoying and made me feel super uncomfortable. Also glad that I was in a public place.

  12. I live in Japan, so no. Even if I didn't, I've lived here so long, it feels wrong to enter a house with shoes on, now. I'd leave my shoes by the door whenever I visited my parents and I think they might have been a bit annoyed by it. I was kinda raised to wear shoes at all times. Despite that, I've always much preferred walking around barefoot. I don't like wearing shoes if I don't have to.
  13. Cereal. If you pour the cereal first, you get a nice coating of milk over everything. You can also pour more cereal into the bowl this way. If you pour the milk first, the cereal just sits on top of the milk and you don't get much milk on the cereal. It just makes more sense to pour the cereal first.
  14. Curry with garlic naan. Had dumplings in it, which I love. I also had a Coke Zero.
  15. If I tilt my head back, I can sit on my hair. I think that qualifies as very long, regardless of gender.
  16. When you have a crush on someone, do you find yourself trying to act like them?

  17. I used to work in retail, too. I understand that they're in a situation where they're made to push things. And while I still don't like it, if they're nice enough about it, I'm okay with it. I'm thinking of the people who are really mean and rude about it. I had one time where I wanted to by one bottle of hand sanitizer. It was slightly cheaper per bottle to buy 5, but I was in a hurry and I didn't think I'd use 5. If I remember, I might not have had that much money on me, either. And the lady kept pushing me to get the sale, but I kept declining. And then she goes off on me, yelling, all like "Well why'd you come in here if you weren't gonna buy anything?!" And stupid crap like that. I understand that there's a lot of pressure to push sales, but I don't deserve to be treated like crap just because I didn't want to buy something. And this isn't just a one-time thing. This has happened to me on numerous occassions at various places. It's just not right. Add to that the fact that I struggle to say "no," to people, and I end up spending money I don't have on stuff I didn't need. If this ever happens to me, I make it a point never to go back to the store. There's pushing sales and then there's outright being disrespectful. Unfortunately, I've had plenty of the latter. That's probably a lot of why it evokes so much ire for me.
  18. I fixed some of the chords and then I put in a whole bunch of other musicky shizz. Can someone tell me if I did anything stupid that sounds awful or something? I'm especially uncertain about the counter-melody and some of the instrumentation. Thanks. https://soundcloud.com/zexonyte/moar-dogs
  19. Does anyone out there speak fluent or native Japanese that can proof something for me?

  20. I'm trying to make an arrangement for an existing song. I've done my best, using headphones and adjusting the audio, but it's very difficult to hear even individual notes in the background, for me, much less the entire chord. So I was wondering if some of you could listen to what I've come up with so far and maybe check it against the original, if you have time. I'm going to do my own thing with this track, so I've changed a few things about it, shortening some areas, lengthening others. However, I still wanna retain the basic feeling of it, especially in the parts with lyrics. This is a bare-bones version because I wanna make sure the base is solid before I move onto things like the counter-melody or the rhythm section. I was also a little uncertain about the 4-bar intro and the 8-bar bridge in the middle. I'm not sure if they keep with the tone of the song or not. If someone could let me know their opinion on those and what I might be able to do to fix them, I'd appreciate that, too. This is my version: Here's the original: Or in English, if it's easier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krh9szUJQEQ Any help is very much appreciated!
  21. @, Sure, that'd be awesome. We might have to do that, sometime. Yeah, I think one problem with my videos not getting views is that I don't share my stuff enough. I'm trying, though.
  22. Ugh, does anybody know how to pick out chords and stuff? Super frustrated. Wanna put fists through many things...
