    Your opinion of Netflix Originals: Good or bad overall?

    Having watched some meanwhile, this label strike me rather negatively than positively meanwhile.

    Note that netflix original can actually seemingly also refer to media that Netflix has the sole permission to stream and nobody else has.

    Some stuff I watched.

    Pro:

    Castlevania - But even this was of varied quality and immaturely strong language.

    Neutral:

    The Seven Deadly Sins

    Con:

    The Defenders (without having watched any other series before of them)

    The Wrong Missy

    Ghost in the Shell ZAC 245 (or something) -> Like WTF: This looks like it was done with Steam Film Maker!? :confused::confused::confused:

     

    Are your experiences with it in line with mine? I mean, it would make sense given there is likely a lower budget when you are producing for one media provider only and with limited number of customers...

    Do you got anything to recommend?  What have you played in the past?

    If you don't know what to play or what does exist, here are some few suggestions:

    Sooo~~~....

    I actually started with the kinda famous Ponyvania, a mockup of Castlevania. It is of surprisingly high quality - The only current class I haven't played yet are Bat ponies.

    Also, the game can be pretty hard - so I stick to normal difficulty and not hard or brutal. :worry:

    Other games I have played include the MLP RPG 1 & 2 (Cutie Mark Crusader Warriors) by Nurse Dashie, which are pretty Final-Fantasy-ish (NES/SNES era), the former being a ponified version of FF1, and the latter comes with an original storyline but kinda uses the class system of FF3.

    I also tried out Legends of Equestria quite some time ago, I think when it went public beta, but it felt pretty empty to me.

    Currently? I still have to finish RPG2: CMCW, for optional stuff, and else I am playing Ponyage:Chronicles, a 2D MMORPG which I am quite impressed with! It lacks some explanation on some stuff, so it doesn't hurt to ask somepony else about your questionmarks in there.

    Dishonorable mentions are also written in my link above - for me, these are basically these "horror games with seeing ponies dieing, or knowing that they just did a minute ago, with blood or body parts lying around. I find them pretty tasteless to me, unfortunately. :worry:

    Bas' Rating: 4/5

    Age Rating: PG-13. Roughly typical 2D JRPG game, with the small exception of a scene showing after a battle has happened there, tombs for ponies and seemingly some laying on the ground. No blood or single body parts to worry about there, however.

    Playtime: around 25-30h likely.

    Bas' Short Review: Unlike RPG1, this doesn't come with a parody plot this time. The class system is taken from FF3, roughly. Sometimes a bit hard to guess where to go next or what to do, but otherwise pretty solid, albeit maybe dull from time to time. While any progress in levelups are gone when changing a class (as in: Not transferring), commonly found crystals that increase stats for somepony are a welcome improvement over the FF3 system, as these stats carry over between classes.

    Which exactly? I personally try to keep it somewhat family friendly, but WOH4 has a few text lines that I am not thinking would be appropriate to quote here and might even get deleted by mods. That's like why I was thinking it to be especially unfitting, DM me if you want to know which ones I am talking about.
