  1. @Pr0m4NV14 Like after they find each other? Hmm hard to say really. Perhaps the guards at the station mistake us for being with the bandits, or maybe we run into cadence and she has news/something to tell our characters regarding the Crystal mountains or we could just explore he empire a bit before heading off to the objective. Just tossing out some ideas! I’m cool with whatever
  2. @Battenberg How did we manage to reply at the exact same time?! That’s hilarious haha!
  3. @Pr0m4NV14 Oh, I’m certainly enjoying it! Sorry if it doesn’t come across that way Thanks for letting me join.
  4. @Raven Rawne “Hmm good point. I guess between the two of us we should remember most everything we’ll need. And I’m sure Tall Tale will have shops. It seems like a pretty good sized place.” The duo made their way back through the hallways of the fancy building. “Right then. I’ll see you back here at 6:00 then. Time to go get packed!” Frenzy smiled as she parted ways with Clarity, making a mental list of items she would need to bring. She made her way down the busy streets all the while promptly declining as ponies tried to sell her stuff. She trotted down Amethyest Ave until she stopped at a small, blue, one story building. She floated a key out of one of her pouches and unlocked the door to her home. Frenzy was greeted by her grey and white pinstriped prairie dog as she walked through the door. She gave him a hug and went into her bedroom where she tossed her bag down on the bed. “Do you want to help me pack Zigzag?” She laughed as he stuck his head into one of the pouches. “I’m going to need a bigger bag than this.” She said to herself as she trotted over to her closet. She rummaged through her belongings until she found a larger set of saddle bags and placed them open on her floor. She then started collecting items from around the house that she thought she would need for the trip: some freeze dried fruits and veggies, a canteen filled with water, a general map, the spell scroll and other items that Buckshot gave her, bug spray, a small first aid kit, a toothbrush, some rope, and some extra bits. I’m sure I’m forgetting something, Frenzy thought, but she dismissed it when she couldn’t place what it was. Oh, well I’ve got a couple hours to think of it. Frenzy decided to go get something to eat for lunch while she waited for the time to regroup with Clarity. She fed Zigzag, and went back out into the busy atmosphere that was Canterlot.
  5. "Understood, Sir." Frenzy turned to her new companion. "I guess its time to get packed then." Frenzy gathered all the items that Buckshot gave them, including the unclaimed tickets and pouch of bits. "And we will get out of your hair. Thanks for the info sir, you won't be disappointing." She thought she heard him mumble "I hope not" under his breath but, she figured she was mistaken. As the two mares found themselves back out into the hallway, Frenzy redistributed the bits and tickets, and floated Clarity's portion out for her to grab. "Well this will certainly be interesting." Frenzy said smiling. "Personally, I've never been to Tall Tale before. Have you? I'm not really sure what to bring so I guess I'll just pack the general stuff..." She trailed off lost in thought. Once she realized, her snapped her attention back to the lavender unicorn, who looked worried about the endeavor. "Hey, I wouldn't worry about it too much. They wouldn't send us if they didn't think we could handle it." She said smiling.
  6. @Pr0m4NV14 @Battenberg Summer clung onto the railing of the car she was on until the train arrived in the station. Once it came to a stop, she gathered her things and hopped down. The confused unicorn walked the length of the train, peering into each of the cars as she went looking for her companions. Suddenly Snickers jumped down and took off running. He stopped at one of the cars and gestured for Summer to investigate. She grabbed her pet and placed them back on her head, putting her ear up to the wall as she did so. Mike and Victoria’s voices could be heard from inside. Summer knocked excitedly on the door. “Hello? MIKE? VICTORIA? Is that you guys??”
  7. @Raven Rawne Your post just gave me an awesome idea! If our characters are going to Vanhoover, perhaps my other Oc Summer Haven could make a cameo. She lives in Vanhoover and is a unicorn veterinarian so perhaps she could “teach” our characters how to do the anesthesia spell?
  8. @Pr0m4NV14 @Battenberg After resting for a bit, Summer checked the door behind her. Unsurprisingly, it was locked. She opened one of the pouches of her saddle bag to check on Snickers, who hopped out and climbed onto her head. Snickers chirped angrily at Summer. “I know, I know. I’m sorry.” She apologized to her pet. “I wasn’t expecting this either.” She looked around for another way in, and came up empty. “Looks like we have tor ride back the rest of the way out here.” She laid back down and crossed her forlegs. “Much better than walking though right?”
  9. @Scare Effect "Good night." Summer said. She wasn't sure how easily she would be able to sleep under these circumstances. She knew she had to try though, considering the events that were likely to unfold tomorrow. Luna's moon shone brilliantly in the cloud-free sky, casting a heavy shadow under trees. The glow of their fire as their primary light source, was slowly starting to die down. Summer's pet bird was already sound asleep in the branches above. Summer inched ever so slightly closer Scare Effect, before curling up to sleep for the night. * * * The green unicorn awoke to a cold sensation running down her nose. She opened her eyes sleepily and was instantly jolted to attention when she realized it was starting to rain. She scrabbled to her feet and started packing everything into her bag. The map didn't seem to be too damaged, and the ground wasn't soaked yet so she figured must have just began. (I just now realized I forgot the tag sorry)
  10. @Raven Rawne Aww! I love him even more now. Yes I hope we get to see more of him! Yes, I remember now. Sorry about the confusion!
  11. @Raven Rawne Frenzy’s face lit up when she saw the manager enter the hallway. “Nice to meet you sir. I hope the morning has treated you well!” She gave a slight bow to respect his authority. “Frenzy Bolt and Clarity I presume?” The brown stallion spoke in a stiff, serious tone. The mares nodded, as he began to unlock the door. Frenzy eagerly followed the other two ponies into the small room, which Frenzy found to be rather...disappointing. This room was all business, with just a table and some worn down chairs amidst its wooden carved walls. Evidently they didn’t want any distractions during their meetings but, still, the lack of decor seemed to clash with interiors of any other buildings in Canterlot she had been in. Even the training rooms that the guards used in the barracks where more decked out than this. Frenzy shook off her initial impressions and found a seat next to Clarity. Buckshot, as the meeting leader had introduced himself, gathered his paperwork and joined the duo at the table. Frenzy’s ears perked up at this news. “That must mean we are being sent for something really important then!” She glanced over at Clarity who seemed worried when Buckshot said this. Buckshot raised an eyebrow at Frenzy and she took it as her cue to stop talking. She blushed and used her magic to slide one of the copies of the reports over to herself, slightly hiding her face with it. The manager continued. Frenzy listened intently as Buckshot described the problems they were having in a town called Tall Tale. Frenzy had heard its name before, but didn’t know much about the place beyond that. He described a creature that was dubbed “rhynosaurus” that some of the ponies had apparently seen. He didn’t have any “good” photographs of it, but the reports included a few eyewitness descriptions of the creature. Frenzy’s curiously only grew as she skimmed through the sighting reports: has a three large horns and a wicked tail, one of them read. Basically a prehistoric beast with a bad attitude, claimed another. “Does this mean you’re sending us to Tall Tale sir?” Frenzy asked with a hint of excitement in her voice.
  12. @Pr0m4NV14 @Battenberg Summer ended up slipping and tumbling down the slope most of the way but managed to make it to the bottom without much issue. She saw the train speeding off in the direction of the empire and, fearing the long walk in the snow, decided to try to catch it. She winced as her foreleg flared up in pain, but she new she was going to have to run if she would have any chance of catching up. The distressed unicorn took off after the train in a surprising burst of speed. As she galloped up to the moving cars, she knew it wasn’t going to slow down. She was going to have to jump. The train was much faster and it was pulling ahead. She had to act soon, lest she get left behind. She used her magic to toss her bags onto the platform and mentally prepared herself for the jump. Summer using all her remaining energy, jumped up and managed to land onto the platform with a loud crash of her hooves. She then collapsed in exhaustion.
  13. I’m just going to drop this here, since I keep having to look it up anyways... So we’re going to have some pony hunting the rhynosaurus then? And we’re going to say it wandered near the city from the unexplored west? (Just making sure we’re on the same page) Also nice job on the meeting manager! He gives off a Ms Harshwhinny vibe. Which is what I would expect from one of the higher ups haha
  14. @Raven Rawne Well we can certainly use already existing creatures too. I just thought it may be fun to have some new/orignal creatures added to the mix. Yes I drew them up and made the concepts for them. We don’t have to use them though if you don’t want to. Yep that sounds good! Maybe the meeting director could give them a copy of the report or pamphlet of some sort or some bad photos of the creatures to take with them. Edit: Also is Tall Tale an industrial sort of area or is it more rural? I figured we could save the moonskrat idea for an agriculturally oriented town so they pose more of a threat.
  15. @Raven Rawne Here's the other idea (which we can save for another mission if need be) Species: Moonskrat (play on moon and muskrat) Classification: Mammal Diet: Omnivore Description: These creatures are small, winged, semi-quadrupedal mammals (meaning they can stand on their hind legs like prairie dogs.) They are nocturnal and have the ability to absorb moonlight into their wings. They remain unable to fly until their wings are fully charged with the magic they absorb from the moon. However once they are able to fly, they set off as a group in search of one thing: food. Much like parasprites, the moonskrats are ravenous animals that eat anything from vegetables to cupcakes. This can be problematic for nearby farms or outdoor food stands. Towns that live near moonskrat colonies live in constant fear of their crops getting devoured. Little is known about these animals due to their skittish nature. They seldom let ponies get close enough to study them and they retreat into their burrows if they feel threatened.
  16. @Raven Rawne Alright, so it doesn't have claws but I think it fits the role of "creature that looks intimidating but is actually an herbivore." Also I think i'm going to start a creature index in the top post so we can navigate easier to find their descriptions. Species name: Rhynosaurus Classification: Mammal Diet: Herbivore Description: An armor plated, quadrupedal, herbivorous charging animal. This creature resembles a cross between a triceratops dinosaur and a rhinoceros. It defends itself by charging at its victims with its powerful horns and has the raw power to uproot a medium sized tree. Their colors can range from a slate blue, to a muddy green to a very dark brown. Typically docile in nature, they usually aren't very territorial unless there is a shortage of food or they are protecting their offspring. They can however, do massive amount of property damage when they charge or stomp around whether intentional or not.
  17. @Raven Rawne Frenzy followed the endless corridors until she found the room that matched the number on her invitation. "This looks like the place," She smiled and tucked away the piece of paper. She then walked right into the door, expecting it to be unlocked. Hmm they must not be here yet. Frenzy glanced at the clock at the end of the hallway, which read 9:50. She decided to sit down near the doorway while she waited. Suddenly one of the doorways flew open and a lavender unicorn mare trotted up to the door where Frenzy was waiting. She seemed to be in a bit of a hurry, and had a coffee stain on her dress shirt. Not that Frenzy cared about the stain. Frenzy immediately jumped up and gave the purple unicorn's hoof a rather enthusiastic shake. She knew there was no way to mask her excitement, so she let it erupt. "Yup! That's what I'm here for too! I'm Frenzy Bolt, but of course you can just call me Frenzy. I'm kind of new around here in case you haven't seen me around much. Did you get an invitation too? I'm so exited! I wonder what they are going to have us do!" She exclaimed, barely taking a breath in between. "I already tried the door, I guess the others aren't hear yet. But to be honest I don't actually know how many are coming." She laughed, hoping she didn't come on to strong.
  18. @Raven Rawne Oh good! I was worried I would mess something up haha. Anyways, I’ve got two options in mind for the first creature they meet: Option 1) A group of small creatures that doesn’t look threatening at all but can become so under the right circumstances. or Option 2) A large creature that looks like it could easily be a threat (weather it is or not we can decide later) I don’t have names yet for either of these but I will be able to draw them up pretty soon and will post them here. Edit: Right as I typed this I thought of a name for one of the creatures
  19. @Scare Effect "I'm kind of in the same boat." Summer yawned in response to Scare's yawn. "It seems like if we follow this path," Summer pointed with her pencil, "We should reach the deepest part of the woods by tomorrow evening. That is, if we don't have any huge setbacks." Despite her sleepy state, Summer had a touch of excitement in her voice as she spoke. Summer frowned in the general direction of the fire. "Do you think we should put out the fire before we go to sleep? Just in case any...uh creatures happen to see it?"
  20. Alright, got my new post up. Sorry about all the confusion.
  21. @Raven Rawne Here’s the OCC to our new RP! Link to RP Based in Canterlot, the The Equestrian Society for the Preservation of Rare Creatures just got two new members! The new recruits will face problems, adventures, and assignments all dealing with the diplomacy between ponies and the other fantastic beasts of Equestria. Characters: Frenzy Bolt Clarity Creature Index: Moonskrat, Page 1 Rhynosaurus, Page 1
  22. Link to OCC @Raven Rawne The sun was shining down upon the purple and white sided buildings and reflected brilliantly onto the cobblestone. The heavy clomping of hooves on the stone could be heard as ponies went about their busy lives. There was a faint smell of fine dining wafting through the breeze. It was a standard day for the bright, fair city in the shadow of the grand castle. One of the busiest streets in Canterlot was met with a yellow unicorn mare galloping down the sidewalk, startling unsuspecting ponies as she passed through. The unicorn’s slate blue mane was flying backwards as she rocketed through the crowded walkways. The pony was too excited to slow down. This would be her first meeting with the new organization she had joined and she wanted to make a good first impression. In fact, she had just gotten the news mere hours ago. Frenzy Bolt rounded the corner and trotted up to a large two-story building with a silver roof and deep purple finish on the siding. The windows were all tinted a soft blue. As with most buildings in the capitol city, the land surrounding the building was heavily decorated with flowers and extravengent statues. The banner above the door read “Equestrian Society for the Preservation of Rare Creatures.” A few other ponies were shuffling in, as the meeting was about to start. Frenzy stared up nervously at the intimidating building which would host her new job. Alright Frenzy you can do this. This is going to be great! There’s going to be so many awesome new ponies in there to meet! Frenzy thought, trying to ease the butterflies forming in her stomach. She opened one of the pouches of the saddlebag that was slung over her back, and pulled out the invitation. She floated the paper in front of her nose so she could see the room number she needed. ”Alright! Here we go!” Frenzy blushed when she realized she said that out loud. Reguardless, the new recruit trotted into the building eagerly awaiting her first assignment.
  23. Yep! Pets are fun! My main oc has a snake, a squirrel and a bird. The others have pets as well
  24. @Raven Rawne Oh goodness. I’m kind of nervous at the idea of starting the RP but I can give it a shot. I can start on it in a bit (should be ready before you come back). Hopefully it will be okay.
