@Cyclone 1066 all but 1 person that has found out about me has been negative...

@Sliding Bolt the negative guy I had called me pedophile everytime I walked into class. Everyone else said don't listen to him, he's stupid and ignorant. In auto shop of all classes. Dip chewin', truck drivin', down home country boys were alright with me watching a show about multicolored ponies. I was baffled. That was the LAST group I wanted to figure out, for fear off God only knows what.

Have you tried finding ways of turning their negative comments into a positive one?

Yeah, if people are just being ignorant or bigoted, assuming stuff and just trying to bring you down better just to ignore them.
Usually they're easy to tell apart from the people who're just playfully teasing you about what you like.
(i have a coworker who jokes me all the time about going out on weekends to 'score', even though he knows i'm celibate, vs another coworker who tells me I don't belong in that profession when I explain how i'm having trouble with something.)

But yeah, Cyc, this is why I don't bring up the pon's at work.
Because I live/work in a place that would be mostly accepting... save the fact that I work with a bunch of old sailor types. God only knows what kinda worms would come out of their cans if I rattled 'em with "hey, I watch a show for little girls" ^^;
