i know you try to defend her,but by denying her flaws you actually take away from what makes her great.everypony in the show is flawed in some way,thats what makes them interesting

i think thats exactly the point of Trixie,she sucks even at what her talent is supposed to be,but she won't just accept it,so she uses bragging and boasting as a means of getting attention and as the saying goes,fake it till you make it,so maybe she believes that by acting like she's great and powerful she'll eventually actualy become great and powerful

even if the ursa inscident isn't the real reason her shows failed,she does think it is,and thats what makes her act this way,and instead of repeating my earlier post let me just quote it,

we do actually know,in her second appearence she said she couldn't make a show after what had happened,everyone shunned her and laughed at her due to the ursa incident

i haven't read the comics,but she did actively tried to make up for it in the show too,when she added the fireworks in twilight's show,most of the other reformed characters didn't try to(except thorax but he wasn't really ever a vilain),they were driven to reform by the main cast both luna and discord went out of control even after their 1000 year banishment,they had to use the elements on them

well her "crimes" were hardly of the discord/luna scale,so of course she wasn't bannished for 1000 years,what i'm trying to say is not that snips and snails should have been punished,but that trixie shouldn't have been shunned for something they did either

if you compare it with all the things that seem to happen i think a thunderclap isn't really such a big deal,and equestria is a pretty forgiving place in general,even its greatest enemies are just banished and then given second chances(luna/discord/changelings etc)and in that same episode,snip and snail,get rewarded(with a mustache) while Trixie is blamed and shuned for a crime they commited

now that you mention it,they did know there was a changeling around when thorax lived nearby and were on high allert -
i don't see how RD controling the weather is aggressive,thats what pegasi do,i never claimed assault,i just said Trixie didn't actually do a better job at it.and as you say here yourself,she made rarity look worse,not herself look better,thats what i meant when i said she didn't outdid them

well not really.she didn't outdid their tricks,she just stoped them from performing them we're on the same side,the difference is you defend Trixie as a person,and i defend her as a character with believable personality with actual motives(which is kinda rare to see in cartoons lately)

but thats exactly the point of the episode,Trixie isn't good at what she does,she deals with it as she deals with everything else,trying to show everyone she's better than she actually is

i think they just need an inteligence gathering agency not a better army,they always seem so unprepared for the attacks its not a matter of force and maybe the army actually does stop vilains behind the scenes,but we only get to see the ones that elude them and get defeated by the main cast -
considering everything gets exagerated in cartoons to make it more entertaining and easier to understand all i can say is i just don't consider those as a big a deal as you seem to, i ended up kinda spamming torques' post so i think i'll stop here instead of repeating the same arguments again,we just have different standards of whats acceptable there

you keep using law,but we know equestria doesn't really have those,its pretty much a monarchy(duarchy?i don't know) with a different treatments for the same crimes and double standards,if a stage magician should be expected to suffer the insults,doesn't one who goes on stage to snob it also be prepared and expect to be on the bad end of a trick? (i hope you don't take any of this personal,this is a debate thread after all)

well Twilight isn't a perfect princess,her role is to be flawed and learn from her mistakes(which are alot since the show would be short otherwise),and hopefully help us learn too,without making them first like her.

she doesn't,thats from her second episode where she has the amulet,the only ones she "attacked"(not really harmed them)were the ones that tried to stop her show,which is why i said she's the one bullied not actually defeating the Ursa is not something you can hold against her,she would if she could thats for sure

Starlight got forgiven because they couldn't defeat her,they did try to just stop her at first,pairing Trixie with her is a way of telling us the world is unfair and the powerful will always have more oportunities,and by that she continues to be a very a relatable character(even if it was unintentional which i'm not sure it was)

she is the one bullied for boasting(which is what Rainbow Dash does all the time and its fine)she didn't attack anyone in her first episode,more like she defended herself and her show,and she DID try to fight the Ursa,she just couldn't,it's not her fault snips and sails can't distinct show from truth
