    Even though I haven't been watching the show, I still enjoy coffee with my AJ and RD mugs and squeezing my Twilight plushie.

    I'll have plenty of astronomy and flower pics to share with y'all when I return. :fluttershy: Twilight Sparkle isn't gonna let me slack around on clear nights.  ^_^

      I had stopped watching the show around the midpoint of Season 8. 

      @Twilight and Starlight, @Totally Lyra, @Nightmare Mirage, @Twilight Luna, @Sparklefan1234, @lyrabetes3939, @Tacodidra, @Lord Valtasar, and @Califorum: I will always love the ponies and friendships I've made on here. *Squeeze hugs :kindness:

      I'll still be around.  My interest in the show may be faded, but I still have a soft spot for the ponies. Plus, there's endless astronomy for Twilight Sparkle and I to share on here :fluttershy:

    Another hazy morning, but the 3rd quarter Moon was beautiful. The air was a bit unsteady. I'd rate the conditions as below average, which can be seen in the video clip of Saturn.

      @Berry-Bliss-Sundae, Thank you!  I find the dark background of space to be fascinating, but a bit scary at the same time. Only a blanket of air and magnetic field separate us from its dangers  :sealed:

      Thank you, @Tacodidra. Haze is very hard to predict and can be hard to see. The Moon does reveal it tho. :LunaMCM:

      @J.T., I sure do! Tho, I haven't done any solar imaging in while. It's too hot right now ^_^

    These Magnolias are elusive. I can only seem to photograph them when they're closed  :dash:

    The colors on the leaves appear way off. I shot these with a different lens and I don't have a filter for it. Near IR light completely dominates all 3 color channels in an unfiltered camera.  :adorkable:

      @Sondash Studios, Thank you! Tho in fairness, I don't think most pros shoot outside the visible spectrum. If they did, their cameras and lens would probably smoke what I have.  :adorkable:

    Well, no Saturn this morning. Some clouds passed thru while doing some test shots on Jupiter and the haze remained. 

    I do have an image and video clip to share tho. It's quite clear I will need an electric focuser at these magnifications. :dash:

    Jupiter was low in altitude (20°) around midnight, but the images came out decent. One of Jupiter's moons is visible in the video clip. I would rate the atmospheric turbulence as "average". I didn't run into anymore glitches in the new computer, so I'm happy and so is Twilight.  :yay:

    Definitely going to bed early tonight. :orly:

    I spent the last several hours installing all the software I use for astrophotography, on a faster computer. I can finally retire my laptop and not be limited by USB 2.0 speeds.  :yay:

    Will have to wait til tomorrow to test it out on Jupiter. I'm too tired and there's a few clouds hanging around.  :orly:

       I have yet to utilize the full capability of my largest telescope. It takes unbelievably calm nights to do that. Hopefully the faster frame rates of my cameras will help me get there.
