The sky is clear overhead. I wonder if I can sneak a telescope outside without the clouds noticing?

Happy Birthday to you, TaZe!

It's been a rainy weekend. Spent the afternoon watching some Darkwing Duck episodes. I haven't seen that show since I was a little kid.

Thanks for the follow!

Welcome to the forums and goodnight, @Phosphor270, I hope you enjoy your stay here!
I don't believe we've met before, but, I like looking at pictures of Space, so I'll give you a follow ^^

The sky is clear, the Milky Way is overhead and the stars are barely twinkling. Looks like a good opportunity to image Mars before the clouds notice I'm outside.

@Tacodidra, yep. If I were to hold the shutter open for an hour or so, the trails would appear as arcs. I might wanna get a bigger battery for my camera tho.
@Cash In, thank you! I wish I would've taken a photography class or 2. I'm pretty much self taught.

@Kind Claw, I did. About 30 seconds. I like the look of star trails, so I may try a longer exposure next time.

Can't decide if I want an Applejack coffee mug or a large sticker to put on my telescope. Hmmm.

@Lord Valtasar, I agree. I ordered a couple large stickers of Twilight's cutie mark for my telescope.
I also ordered an Applejack mug. Lol

@Snow, It depends on how steady the atmosphere is. My estimate would be 80-100X magnification before atmospheric turbulence begins to degrade the image. High powers are frequently used on the Moon for craters, you'll just need to do lucky imaging to discard the distorted images.
I imaged some craters near the Moon's terminator a couple nights ago. Magnification is about 400X.

@Mellow Mane , clouds have a strange habit of showing up right after purchasing telescope accessories. lol
@Simply Cerberus, lol! It took me a second to see it, but now I do.

@Tacodidra, clouds tend to get the same treatment as our Moon in amateur astronomy circles. lol. A lot of astrophotographers view the Moon as a giant light polluter.
