  1. This is hilarious! Another reason why the RT is garbage.

Radio waves simply lack the energy to damage DNA. Now, you can get a burn if you touch a transmitting antenna but not cancer.  :P

Oh and calling something "shortwave" doesn't mean it's extra dangerous.

I remember that my bio teacher in high school once mentioned that wifi might cause cancer. ^_^

@Partialgeek514, if wifi causes cancer, we're in BIG trouble because 2.4GHz has lower energy than infrared and we're practically bombarded with IR from the sun and our own bodies.

Just for fun, my spectrum analyzer says mine operates at 2.458GHz. Definitely not nuclear. lol ^_^

  2. I haven't skated since I was a kid. I was okay at it but I definitely couldn't do limbo skating contests. Not a chance!
  3. I prefer low lighting in my room, tho I'm more picky about the color temperature of the light source. I like my lights to be around 2000K (amber/orange) or lower. I don't like white light or bluish tinted lights.
  4. Sonic 2 Sonic CD Sonic 3 & Knuckles Sonic 1 Sonic Advance Sonic Advance 2 Sonic Mania Sonic Dash Sonic Dash 2 Sonic 3D Blast (It's ok) I have Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 but I just prefer the classic games.

  7. It's no secret what my favorite hobby is. Lately I've been getting back into repairing vacuum tube radios. I finished one I started on a year ago and another I bought recently.
  8. I can ease my mind with music, stargazing, target practice, and all sorts of things. It's good to have multiple ways to unwind after a bad day.
  9. I've never been to Australia, but I'd love to visit. I don't agree with the gun laws there, but I would be visiting for the dark skies and scenery. Some of the best Milky Way photos come from Australia!
  10. I use to troll a bit on a certain social media platform, but that was a couple years ago. I don't care for it anymore.
  11. Oh man, it's a draw between my 16 inch telescope and truck
  12. Most prized possession... Hmm, my 16 inch telescope. It's the largest one I own and the views thru the eyepiece are spectacular!

  14. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2019-january-21 I plan to setup my Celestron C8 and modded dslr for the eclipse. With that camera, I can image in color and near infrared. I also want to video it with my thermal infrared camera. I'm mainly curious about how the Moon will appear in IR wavelengths at the moment the Moon turns red. So far, the weather forecast looks good. What are your plans for the lunar eclipse?
  15. I bought a vacuum tube tester at one of the antique stores near my work. Don't see this kind of equipment very often. I've been looking to get one for a while but Ebay prices are just ridiculous sometimes.

I tried it out on one of my spare tubes. The 6V6 tests good. :ticking:

@Lord Midnight Madness, neat! Have you recapped it yet?

I have 2 tabletop and 1 large console radio. Got all 3 in good working order. Those old tube radios are definitely fun to repair!  :fluttershy:

It's all original. I'm having it restored but it works now.

  16. I'm weird when it comes to the dark. I'm not scared of the dark when outdoors. I can't be because of my hobby in astronomy and I also have great night vision. I am a bit afraid of the dark when indoors tho.
  17. Sure, if I stab a piece of meat with it. Otherwise, nope!
  18. If it's clear at night, then I'll do some stargazing. Other things I like to when bored include: watching youtube videos, fixing something, and target practice.
  19. I live in the southeast U.S., so we have to worry about hurricanes, tornadoes and potent thunderstorms associated with cold fronts
  20. Not into clubbing or dancing. I don't do big crowds.
