Even though I haven't been watching the show, I still enjoy coffee with my AJ and RD mugs and squeezing my Twilight plushie.
I'd say my love for the ponies is eternal

That’s where I do a lot of my work. She keeps me company. Plus, there is a bookcase full of books for her to read if she gets bored. Good thing you don’t have a Trixie plush or all your astronomy equipment would be teacups.
@Valencia Now i want a unicorn Twily.
-
@Valencia Though I may save my money for a Luna plush. Awww, I’m sure Twily loves keeping you company.

Venus is quite high in the sky around sunset. Hope I get chance to image the planet this week. It's been awhile since I've done any astronomy.

@Phosphor @Stone Cold Steve TunaYep! Problem is I live right in the middle of the island. The North and South shores are quite a drive for me.

@Celtore Believe me, that's not the weirdest thing to get emotionally attached too...

@Rikifive Thanks, my friend! The Coco avatar did indeed become a trademark of sorts for me – it might have been my longest-used avatar (I'm not completely sure but I guess so), and it helps that it's a character not everyone uses on their avatars!
I can't imagine you having an avatar with a character other than Derpy. I know you have in the past, but the one you have now is so cute... and I think it's become a trademark of yours, like Coco has for me.
-
Yeah, I recall seeing mostly her in your profile. Also, you really like her, so she has to be there! And yup, it's indeed pretty rare to see users putting her as an avatar.
Really? Now this is something I did not expect. I believe I had the pink pone of mine for the longest time ~ set to Lyra at some point for a short period ~ and then in the end switched to Derpy. She is there since 24th August 2018, so it's pretty much only half a year by now, compared to almost 3 years of me being here in total. Either way, yeah, I've noticed some users thinking of me when seeing Derpy, so I suppose you're right. I kinda miss the pink pone though by the way. Now that was a trademark-of-some-sort of mine. Even on non-mlp forums I often was referred as the pink pony and everyone knew who it is about. Sometimes they still call me that way.
-
@Rikifive I remember quite a few users saying they associate me with Coco. And I've found that pretty remarkable since I constantly switch characters and avatars.
I remember the pink pony now that you mentioned her! She was cute! Yeah, your Derpy avatar is the one I associate with you, though it might be partially related to when I've been active here. I only started being more active last spring, so I can't remember much about my first few months here.

Off work for the rest of the week! Woohoo!!

@Partialgeek514, Oh , I see.
Well come down here and enjoy another one. The food in the south is really really good.

@Phosphor that is pure magic right there! I wouldn't believe that is possible to capture with amateur gear?
But thinking about it, you are probably loaded, lol

How's everypony doing today?
The clouds are still around, but it's still nice to see some sunshine!

@Stone Cold Steve Tuna, I have. Here's one from a month ago.
If you're interested, I have a thread in the Nonpony Art Section with all of my astronomy photos.

Hope you get to feeling better, @Cash In

It's been a difficult week. I could use a pony hug or two

I disappeared for a couple weeks and already miss this place. It's good to be back

I had an incredibly disturbing dream last night.
I was a detective investigating some wealthy businessman who was accused of killing his wife. I posed as a potential buyer of his house, while my female partner posed as a real estate agent. I remember snooping around the house and locating a computer running his security cameras. As I was going thru it, I saw footage where the maid ran out of a room screaming and there he was in the frame. He killed her with some blunt force weapon. Alarmed by what I had seen, I quickly exited the room and the house to pretend I was inspecting the outside (to avoid blowing cover). Some time passed by and I hear someone hollering. It was the gardner accusing the businessman of murder and a fight broke out. I don't remember what happened to the gardner, but I did arrest the businessman and remember finding the deceased wife and maid.
I woke up afterwards in tears. The dream felt so real
Strangely, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a police detective.

Today was quite nice, 70°F and sunny with a lil bit of pollen on the cars. Looks like Spring is coming early!
How was your day?

@CatCat, Pollen doesn't seem to bother me much but it makes a mess on telescope optics.
@Stone Cold Steve Tuna: I know, right? Makes me wonder how brutal summer is gonna be
*Squeezes @Pastel-chan. Hope ya get to feeling better
Good to hear @Tacodidra

It's raining outside, so no astronomy for me.

Oh, okay then. It's been kind of cloudy for awhile in my area too
-
@R.D.Dash, gonna have to talk to Spitfire. Rainbow Dash has been slacking lately with the sky.
-
-
The forecast was way off last nite. Above average conditions was predicted, but my video clearly shows a lot of turbulence. The portions where I defocus the planet really show it. Yuck!
The two images demonstrate the importance of using an atmospheric dispersion corrector. You can see the red and blue tinges at the edges of the planet, along with significant blurring of details.
Hope y'all enjoy.

@J.T., look at the financing options for that thing. $4750/month:

Before I had dedicated astronomy cameras, I would take pictures of the Moon with my phone held just above the eyepiece.

I'm glad all that rain and wind is gone. Left a mess in my yard and flipped the grill over.

Seeing a distant planet, such as Uranus, in the eyepiece of a 16" telescope is a wonderful experience!
And brrrrr! My fingers are freezing!

@Cash In, I'm glad it's cold. It gets downright tropical in the southeastern U.S. during the summer!
