      I don't even know if the purple color is real. All bets are off when photographing in light that is invisible to our eyes.  :ooh:

    30 minute exposure of the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51). :mlp_grin:

    Photographed thru a Celestron C8, unguided. I spent some time adjusting the counterweights to find that sweet spot. Balance is very important.

    Clear skies are in the forecast this week, so I have some catching up to do on stargazing.But mainly, I have a lot going on at the moment and need to relax my mind.

    The Sun was out for a brief period. Just enough time to snap a UV photo of a flower. The image is pretty noisy because there isn't much UV light reaching the ground with mostly cloudy skies.

    What a terrible dream last nite! I was flying in a big jetliner and there's was some malfunction that required the pilot to land on one of the interstate highways in a large city. I think it was Dallas. I've never flown before but the turbulence and sounds felt so real. :sunny:

    Looks like a great day to reorganize the toolbox in my truck. 

    I pulled out a spare fan clutch, 2 fuel pumps, ignition coil, belts, hoses, etc. I pretty much have the whole auto parts store in there! ^_^

      I also found a rebuild kit for the factory carburetor in the toolbox. lol. I took it out because my truck has a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb.

    The Orion Constellation. Shot with a 35mm lens. Barnard's Loop, the Flame, Orion, and part of the Horsehead nebula are also visible.

    There's still some coma near the corners. Might shoot at f/5.6 next time, instead of 4.

    I am exhausted this evening, but I'm not gonna let that stop me from stargazing tonight. It's gonna be in the 20's (°F), but crystal clear. The cold temps should reduce the thermal noise in my camera too!  :fluttershy:

    A pair of safety glasses in visible and ultraviolet light. 

    This is pretty much what I expected since polycarbonate absorbs UV. Still cool to see it, tho.  :mlp_grin:
