Well, this was certainly a big news day for F1. One Mercedes test/reserve driver will get the opportunity of a lifetime.

@Tacodidra Bottas has to be considered the favorite for pole and victory this coming weekend, but I think Russell would definitely trade his qualifying streak for his first points, which would probably be quite a large points haul too!
Also, this news overshadowed the fact that Haas will have possibly the most hated driver in single-seaters next year.

Yeah, that's certainly the case!
Aitken would possibly drive the Williams then, being their reserve driver and having already done one practice session.
At least they'll make up for it when they announce Schumacher.

But yeah, I'd much rather have seen Pérez as his team mate than Mazepin. Having two rookies driving for one of the least competitive teams doesn't really sound promising...
Though that would probably end his streak of outqualifying his team mates (I doubt he would beat Bottas in these circumstances). Kubica (on his 2019 form) and Latifi may not be the best drivers, but 36-0 is pretty impressive in any case.
