    School ends at age 16 in the UK and honestly, I think it should end at 16 in the US too, and have more elective and optional classes. In a standard American high school, you're forced to slave away aimlessly for four years on mostly required classes with no real-life application, and then you're expected to jump straight into college and know what you want to do. What you really end up with is a bunch of kids who don't want to do ANYTHING.
