@Treeglow Flicker  I was the same way with the Massachusetts road atlas.  As for creating fictional ones, I used to draw my own highway maps too. Maybe I'll get back into that at some point. 

I dunno if I’d call it relaxing, but learning to read maps was a thing I did back when I was a kid helping dad navigate when we traveled before GPS days. 
 

And sometimes even today to make sure there’s no other routes cause sometimes the GPS takes you the crappiest ways. 

@AppleButt So true! It's often more concerned with shaving off 0.01 miles of your journey than with avoiding traffic and tight streets.
