Gryph

Today's drawing was a bit simpler than the other ones, but it was still fun to do!

I usually get the cheapest ones, because I use it for all kinds of things. From actually using it for what it is intended for to murdering a swarm of moths and mosquitoes, or at least to scratch their remains off the wall. When I forget to buy kitchen roll the toilet paper sometimes even flies around all over the kitchen. So yeah, the expensive one would be a waste. I only get the brand ones when they're on 1+1 sale and when those two packages together are actually cheaper than two packages of the ones I usually buy.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious. When I came back into the fandom, I was already thinking of creating a new character, since I didn't really feel connected to my old pony character anymore. I stumbled across the little game pony town and created my pony character in there, but while doing so, I saw the option for a beak as well as claws. So my second character was the first version of my griffon character. And I actually prefer the way to write it as "Gryphon", so the short term was Gryph and - hooray - the name was still available! The character didn't have a name back then, so I stuck with Gryph. Everywhere else pony related I'm either Gryph or MangoGryph, sometimes Gryphie Mango, since that's the actual name of my character. But I prefer Gryph, it's short, precise and you immediately know that I'm a birdlover.

Today I have bought this cute character! I haven't seen the wings when I bought her, I just thought she was a unicorn, haha. But whatever. She had those cute stars in her mane and tail, I was thinking of the aurora when I saw her. So I made her a young northern princess who is travelling around the globe to show everybody the beauty of the aurora. So I named her Aurora Starlight.

I‘m trying to wake up at 8am the latest. And when I stay up longer than until midnight, I kinda „punish“ myself by getting up at 8am anyway, so I may go to bed earlier that day then. I‘m quite strict with this because not too long ago I always got up at 2pm and crappy times like that... and well, I always woke up completely knackered, because my curtains don‘t hold off the light too well.

Ahhh, just finished another piece of her. I think I'm quite happy with it, maybe I can even use it as a badge (if I find a manufacturer that does prints on acrylic glass). The other piece is my current Avatar, I just pixeled and animated it quickly. Well, not really animated, it's just blinking. But I think it's quite fitting. At this point I'm actually thinking of opening a thread in Requestria, because I only got two pony characters, but both look pretty much the same. I need practiiiiiice

I actually only do so to look for a thread in which I have posted in, so I can look at other answers to it. And well, I sometimes do so as well when I changed or added something, so I can check if everything looks okay.

I haven't got a fan here. It's far too dangerous with all the birds, since they are outside of their cage most of the time and it's not too healthy for them either. Plus, my current flat is very small and very full, I can't really keep up with my stuff. I'm glad I can move to my new flat soon, which is going to have an air ventilation system as well as an air conditioner. Way better effect than a fan and way safer for my beepers.

I have recently replayed A Link Between Worlds, and I really have to say, the bossfights are really... boring. I barely needed two minutes for all of them and barely got hit by any of them. So... yeah. The bossrush at the end didn't really make it better, as well as the final bossfight. And well, staying with Zelda, even though a lot of people said that they like the Breath of the Wild bosses and that most of them are challenging... Well, they're not. I've not really been prepared for the Divine Beasts, but still had a very easy time with most of the bosses - Only the electric one was a challenge and it was very fun to fight against it. The final boss on the other hand... Especially the final form... It's just... Meh. But well, that's the trend with a lot of newer games after all. A lot of bossfights are not too challenging, so everybody can finish the game. I respect this choice a lot though! I mean, we had a time with ridiculously hard levels and bosses in early videogames, so an easy to play game is nice, but when there are too much of those it just gets a little bit boring. You may have an easy time completing the story, but it feels like you have achieved nothing when beating the final boss. And this doesn't feel good at all.

My best times actually come from when I'm chasing a bus. When doing that, I'm faster than most bikers that are going by, so my guess would be around 25 km/h. It could be faster, but I've actually never measured it, because I'm in complete stress, haha.

Ahhhh, I finally worked out a final version for my MLP Sona. She now got kind of a name, Mango Gryph (Because I love mangos), but I will continue calling her Gryph. I didn't want to upload ANOTHER flat piece, so I tried to shade it. And I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out to be. So yeah, as you may have seen on my traditional piece, I LOVE a lot of colours! So my shading style represents that! I still need to work out an anthro version as well as a ref sheet for both. But we will see where I actually wanna go with her.

Aaaaaaaaaahhh, sorry that it took me so long to update QvQ I'm currently having a visitor for the whole of August. In the meantime I did two pieces, but with one of them I'm not entirely sure. Even though I focus on digital art, I do traditional as well, just occasionally. So I quickly had to make a badge for my friend, as soon as I realised that he had none and we were heading to a very small convention the very next day. So there's that. The second piece is a try on an anthrofied version of Gryph, but I'm not too sure if I should stick with the markings and the colours or change it. I've also changed the tail to one of my favourite tails I actually own... So yeah. I'm currently thinking of changing the colours in general, since they apparently don't fit together too well. Maybe I'll go with dark grey instead of the light grey, then it would actually match up with the fur colours I currently have at home. But we'll see. Maybe I'll incorporate blue instead of red as well, which I do have at home as well. (and pastel red is not really easy to find when it comes to fur....)

Oh my XD Well, for Dashie a higher price is okay because, obviously, more materials. But yeah, just because of those commission prices I started making my own plushies. It's actually not too hard to learn and you can always find free patterns or buy patterns on Etsy, especially for ponies there are a lot of them out there.

Hmm.. Okay, that's pretty weird actually XD So I assume this person makes them in masses for all of the commissioners then? Even with the higher price for materials it would still be at 200$, since the patterns would still be the same, if you did multiple ones and you still have a lot of profit.

So... Today I've tried to draw again, my new character I've created on Ponytown. For some reason I kinda started to like her and I'm considering using her as my main OC, haha. So yeah, I'm a little bit rusted I guess, I've had a pause of around 3 months or more because of a complete artblock... But I hope she will give me some motivation to draw again. So hopefully I can post more in this thread, haha. I also do have to think of a name for her, but I can't come up with anything. Well, we'll see. So for the time being, she's just Gryph.
