  1. Believe it or not, some older gen fans actually give G4 a lot of hate. I've seen it plenty on the old collector sites like http://www.mlparena.com/. There's actually a rule there against 'advertising of competitors' specifically designed to prevent bronies from posting links to Equestria Daily or other brony sites. The only reason it doesn't affect us is there are so few rabid fans of the older gens. Though I also think that G4 fans like the show for more logical reasons than rabid nostalgia, so hopefully the number that will pull that will be small so long as G5 isn't crap, and from what we know so far it doesn't seem like it's going to be.
  2. Old topic, I know, but I'm replying anyway. People that say "But Equestria shouldn't have racial slurs!" are completely missing the entire point of fantasy racism. When people use fantasy slurs in literature and fanfics, they often do it to underscore how short-sighed and stupid racism is without having to use real-life slurs that might offend real life people. These are the ones I usually use, though I think I'll pick up some I see here: Ponies in general - soft skin (by dragons) Earth - mud pony, dirt pony Pegasus - featherbrain, roofie (because their feathers are required for love potions) Unicorns - horn head, telefreak Zebras - stripe Dragons - scale brains, scale coat, hoarder Griffons - cat-butt, half-n-half Breezies - gnats Bat Pony - fang face, fruit Alicorn - cross-breed (by unicorns, pegasai, or earths that are offended that their traits are mixed with those of lesser races)
  3. I don't like it when the new ones are referred to as 'reformed'. They are not reformed, nor were they evil beforehand. They were only contrary because they were being starved. They are a hive. They followed the hive leader. When the leader is challenged and defeated, they followed the victor as the new hive leader. That isn't reforming; that's just being a hive. So even if we don't take into account that they just found out that Chrysalis was intentionally starving them so they'd agree to be her invasion force, it still makes sense for them to join the new leader. That's why I hate hearing them referred to as 'reformed' changelings instead of just new changelings. If you think about it, a better word for each would be starving and healthy changelings. Just my two cents because it seems that is almost never explained in that manner. Either way it's just like with Princess Twilight and every other thing. If you don't expect them to make huge changes that change the course of the series, you haven't been paying attention. As long as they follow up on them with good stories, I don't care, and I'm not going to abandon a show because I don't like one thing they did or one character.
