  1. Why would someone assume that everything from MLP has a completely consistent reliable system? Sometimes they just do things without thinking it through. I don’t even think the new writers would always re-visit old episodes for references. They might have just went “Tirek. Bad guy. Drains magic. Strong. Write a story with him.” And that’s it. Let’s accept that MLP isn’t about the lore and the writers cares way less than the fans. Or we could think everything is/has to be consistent and back up evidences backwards. Ad Hoc. There is a dragon in my garage. Where is it? It is invisible. Let’s spray powder on the ground to see it’s footprints. It floats. Let’s spray paint on it. This dragon has no physical form so it can’t have paint on it. If we try to think there are always in-canon ways of explaining continuity errors, we end up having an over-complicated deformed rules that can be applied to one case at a time. Not that I think that pointing out the details and thinking about it isn’t interesting.
  2. I think School of Friendship is a special kind of school for creatures who have hard time developing social relationships. Thus, the curriculum would have things to do together to develop sociality. It could be anything like picking apples or playing volleyball. (Alongside with basic education like math and history) If you don’t have any hard time making friends, then you would go to Cheerilee’s school or many other schools.
  3. Ending up living up to nothing and being the stereotypical resentful person. Being falsely accused in a case that is hard to prove my innocence. Eternal damnation of inherit human ignorance and injustice. Inappropriately assaulted by multiple male offenders.
  4. They raise pigs. And if they didn’t raise pigs to eat them, then it’s even more wired. Saddles and horse bits in Rarity’s boutique. Are they for what I think they are? Hayburgers, hayfries, daisy sandwiches, carrot dogs. I get that it’s horse land, but Spike seems to enjoy them too. They have racism and a politically made up pronouns.
  5. I always go for Vanilla. And whatever ice cream doesn’t have the option for vanilla, I have serious doubts about the ice cream’s legitimacy and competence. Vanilla is the best way to find out good ice cream. If it’s good in vanilla, it would probably be good in any other flavors. strawberries, chocolate and mint comes to second. I always avoid mocha and matcha. One is because I don’t personally like the taste, second is that I’m annoyed that they make everything mocha and matcha.
  6. I know chickens and waffles both are delicious foods, but why those two specific food served together in many places? It’s like eggs and bacons or burgers and fries. (Which I understand why they are served together.) Anyone know why? Any historical background or a practical reason like convenience or just the taste of them two compliments each other? Or a nutritional reason? Because for me, I think them two together seems a bit random.

  8. That somehow reminds me of the Phlogiston theory. Only difference is that Phlogiston was proven to be wrong, this is true.
  9. I’m talking about pre-molt down MLP. Nobody knew for sure because we all didn’t had a time machine or clairvoyance to predict the future back then. Molt Down explains this because the episode was specifically made for explaining this.
  10. Sunset : Her redemption is the main plot of the movie. Starlight : Her redemption was skipped. Sunset : After her redemption, she is comfortable with herself, all her friends are comfortable with her, the audiences are comfortable with her. Starlight : Since the redemption isn’t earned, she is not comfortable with herself, the audience isn’t comfortable to see her, only the mane six seems to be ok with her, and it makes as twice as uncomfortable for the audience and Starlight. Sunset wanted power and as a result harmed others. It was completely wrong, but If she had a way not harming others, she wouldn’t minded as long as she gets power. Her No.1 goal itself wasn’t to harm others. She was a bully a***ole though. Starlight did things specifically for bringing misery. Her goal was to harm others and not even for her own good. She has done evil for the sake of evil. Sunset is completely trustworthy and moral with common sense now. Starlight is one of the less trustworthy characters, she has questionable unstable moral codes. Sunset is an interesting character. If she haven’t had came out as a villain, she would still be a good supporting role and an enjoyable person to be around. Starlight isn’t an interesting character. Except for kites, ridiculous magical powers, excessive tendencies and her past as a villain, she has very little to appeal to the audience. Sunset and anybody from Canterlot High could be friends. Starlight and ponies from ‘Our Town’ would be totally uncomfortable being next to each other. EQG needed a new leading role. FiM didn’t needed a new leading role.
  11. Or maybe it’s because they have seen other wingless dragons. Not that you are wrong, we just don’t know.
  12. They both are terrible, but I think starving is worse. I don’t ever want to experience it in my life and I’m glad that I don’t need to worry about starving.
  13. I’d like to see some cornerstone characters like Mayor Mare, Cheerilee and Nurse Redheart. It would be crazy if Luster Dawn is more than 1000 years old and ruling Equestria in G5. I’d like The Mane Six referenced like Twilight Velvet as parents (with a slightly different name/appearances).
  14. There are many legendary film score composers out there, but I think Daniel Ingram and William Anderson did a great job. If it weren’t for them, the MLP we know wouldn’t feel like it is. The scores are iconic and inseparable from the series at this point. But those composers you mentioned are professionals. I’m sure they would have gotten the job done more than perfect if they had the job. If MLP had a richer and more epic sound, it wouldn’t bother that much. Remember when Applebloom talked to Big Mac at the end of Sisterhooves Social? I like to hear more of those kinds. And I’m sure these composers will put in some unique and memorable themes as well. I don’t mind music standing out if it helps the narrative. The only problem is the budget.
  15. Do you have any head-canons or materials about how Chrysalis captured Cadance, how she infiltrated Canterlot and prepared for the invasion in A Canterlot Wedding? p.s. As for how she invaded Canterlot in season 6 finale, I’m not even curious. I wouldn’t bother.
  16. It’s the same reason why Xel’Naga chose Tassadar’s appearance as the avatar in Starctaft 2. The writers didn’t thought it through but thought it would be an intriguing setup but it turned out to be a total bull$@t.
  17. You mean the shorts related to Rainbow Rocks, or just Rainbow Rocks itself, or Better Together season 2 or Choose Your Own Ending season 2?
  18. She has the most common sense. Or at least she used to have the most common sense. I think honesty is the groundwork of all six elements, and the most important one. It includes being honest even to yourself, diligence, sincerity and integrity. All MLP problems would be solved if everyone stayed honest. She is also a very grounded and practical pony, which many characters lacked. She might be the least standing out pony among all the candy colored ponies, but that’s because she’s vanilla, and vanilla deserves more praise. Also, she’s the only one who is undoubtedly American. She represents a certain culture and region in real world that many people can identify with, or at least be familiar with.
  19. Turns out that Celestia was deaf all this time!
  20. I have mixed feelings about this manga. On one hand, I think the writer is a genius, on the other, the manga is so cluttered and dense, so many things happen in one chapter that it’s distracting. The writer needs to chill and make the manga flow more naturally and less dense. The writer surely has many ideas, but the weekly comic strips can’t match all that in one chapter. (Or however often they publish it) I prefer 70s and 80s manga because they are less cluttered and less optimized and less ‘evolved’ into something that’s a result of severe competition among mangas. It’s way easier to read the pages than modern mangas. There are nearly 20 students and other class has 20 too, and other schools, villains, heroes, teachers, other villain cult, family members, etc. There were multiple arcs that started and just ended too quickly. Many great characters ended up being a background character like Tsuyu, Ninja Turtle guy (they are my favorite characters. Tsuyu is the reason I got into the manga and she’s the best), and most characters except for Dekku, Almight, maybe Bakugo, Half and half guy (Fire and ice), and the main villain hand-on-a-face guy. (Then the writer adds a hot bunny girl that is a combination of everything I like?) I think the series will go on for quite a long time like many major successful shonen mangas, but I’m afraid the writer will burn out and end up spitting out worse mangas every week just because he has to. (Like how D Grey Man ended up) I’m already catching up signs of burnout syndrome.
