MLP Season 8 - My Version This is my new, and in my opinion very much improved list of Season 8 episodes for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. In my version, there was no Shadow Play with the Pillars and Stygian returning to Equestria, no School of Friendship and no Young Six, Cozy Glow or Chancellor Neighsay. I did use an episode or two from the actual Season 8, but the rest are original. 1. Radiant Darkness - Part 1 When the Cutie Map expands to reflect places beyond Equestria, a source of evil intends to interfere with its magic, as well as Equestria's. Notes: - Shares the same opening scene as The School Daze, with the Cutie Map expanding. - First appearance of supervillain Sapphire Radiance, my OC. Songs: I Am Sapphire Radiance - Sung by Sapphire Radiance Subject - Sapphire Radiance's masterplan. 2. Radiant Darkness - Part 2 With the Cutie Map in Sapphire Radiance's possession, and Starlight Glimmer trapped, it is up to a nearly-powerless Mane 6 to stop her before she uses it to drain Equestria and the lands beyond of all their magic forever. Notes: - Sapphire Radiance's magic-draining plot is loosely based on Cozy Glow's plot in The School Raze, but using the Cutie Map instead of the six artefacts. - Sapphire Radiance escapes at the end. 3. Surf and/or Turf The Cutie Mark Crusaders travel to Mount Aris and Seaquestria with the Mane 6, and befriend a young Hippogriff named Terramar, who is having trouble choosing between worlds. Notes: - The CMCs are not called by the Cutie Map like in the actual episode, but travel alongside the Mane 6 when they go to visit. - Terramar is not Silverstream's brother, as there is no Silverstream in my series. Songs: Your Heart Is In Two Places - Sung by Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. Subject - Whether Terramar should choose to live in Seaquestria or Harmonizing Heights. 4. Derpy Fired! When Derpy is sacked by her boss for mixing up too many mails, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash try and help her find a new job. 5. One Little Dragon Spike travels to the Dragon Lands to visit Ember, but Garble and the other dragons have a nasty surprise in store for him. 6. All That Glimmers When Twilight is called off on a friendship mission while she is sick in bed and incapable of travelling, Starlight Glimmer takes her place and intends to solve the problem like Twilight would, but eventually learns that she must be true to herself no matter what the case. Notes: - The sparkly Twilight generated by the Tree of Harmony from What Lies Beneath visits Starlight in a dream to tell her to stop trying to be Twilight and be herself. - The episode ends with the sparkly Twilight watching Starlight and Twilight talking, then she turns into sparkly mist and is absorbed into the Element of Magic in the Tree of Harmony. 7. Run Away Balloon When Pinkie Pie and the Cutie Mark Crusaders get trapped on a balloon ride, they each think of possible scenarios of what might happen to them. 8. Apples, Apples, Everywhere When Applejack discovers that Mirror Pool water causes an apple tree to grow twice as many apples, she decides to water her orchard with it, which leads to disastrous results. Songs: Apples, Apples, Everywhere - Sung by Applejack Subject - Applejack's orchard growing twice as many apples, and all the possibilities. 9. Equal To The Occasion Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are called by the Cutie Map to Starlight's old village, where a pony feels so inferior to her friends that she wants to go back to their old ways of being equal. 10. A Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Macintosh Go Down With Spike and Discord's help, Big Mac gets a special Hearts And Hooves Day party ready for his girlfriend, Sugar Belle, and worries that it might not be perfect. Notes: - Big Mac thinks of multiple fantasies in which things go wrong with Sugar Belle. - Shares the same opening scene as The Break Up Breakdown, with Big Mac baking the message into the pie. - Also shares the shot where Spike hides and Discord turns into a hay bale, when Sugar Belle enters the barn near the end. 11. Diamond In the Rough Diamond Tiara's parents are arguing so much that they cause her to run away from home and seek refuge on Apple Bloom's farm. 12. Manehattan Takes Rarity When Suri Polomare opens a rival boutique in Manehattan, Rarity For You is in danger of being run out of business. 13. On the Road to Friendship Starlight Glimmer and Trixie decide to take the magic show on the road, but their road trip soon turns into a series of dangerous disasters when they take a wrong turn into a dangerous territory. Notes: - Shares the same footage as On the Road to Friendship up until the end of the song, but does not include Starlight counselling at the School or the Saddle Arabian wanting to trade caravans. - Also shares the same ending scene with Starlight and Trixie returning and apologizing. - Starlight and Trixie do not argue or renounce their friendship. Songs: Friendship Bound - Sung by Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Subject - Trixie and Starlight setting off on tour. 14. Fast As Lightning Rainbow Dash is shocked when she arrives at her next Wonderbolt show, and discovers that her old Academy partner and ex-friend, Lightning Dust, is the show's top reserve. Notes: - Lightning Dust's sonic rainboom, instead of rainbow-coloured, is golden, like her trail. Songs: My Moment - Sung by Lightning Dust Subject - Lightning Dust's chance to perform, but fear that she won't do well. My Moment - Reprise - Sung by Lightning Dust, Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts. Subject - Lightning Dust's success, and her rekindled friendship with Rainbow Dash. 15. Like a Cat On a Hot Tin Roof Rarity and Twilight are called to Klugetown by the Map to help Capper find a way to settle his debts to Verko, or else he will be driven out onto the streets. 16. Double Trouble When the Mane 6 and the CMCs go to Manehattan, the Mane 6 discover that a leftover Pinkie Pie clone is running loose, and rush to solve the problem without getting the real Pinkie Pie mixed up. Notes: - Return of the Pinkie Pie clone from The Saddle Row Review. - This episode and Seed of Truth take place simultaneously. 17. Seed of Truth When the Cutie Mark Crusaders go to visit Babs Seed in Manehattan, they find out that Babs has been avoiding her friends ever since she got her cutie mark. Notes: - This episode and Double Trouble take place simultaneously. 18. Rainy Day Starlight Glimmer and the Mane 6 find themselves stuck in Twilight's castle during a downpour, and all reminisce about their past adventures. Notes: - Each flashback is a montage of either clips from episodes, or songs. Starlight Glimmer - The Cutie Re-Mark. 19. Hooves and Claws Gilda comes over from Griffonstone to visit Ponyville, but has trouble fitting in with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's friends. 20. The Switchy-Witchy Stone When a mysterious magical artefact switches Twilight and Discord's powers, the Mane 6 must figure out a way to switch them back, until Discord's chaotic omnipotence proves to be too powerful for Twilight and starts to corrupt her. 21. Sounds of Silence Applejack and Fluttershy journey to the edge of the map on a friendship quest to help a group called the Kirin, who are so afraid of hurting each other's feelings that they've taken a potion of silence. Songs A Kirin Tale - Sung by Autumn Blaze Subject - How the Kirin became quiet. 22. Prom Queen The Cutie Mark Crusaders and their friends cannot wait for their school dance and see who will be prom queen, but Snips and Snails plan to ruin it with a big prank. 23. Iron Out the Kinks Fluttershy takes Iron Will under her wing, intent on helping him become more kind, but will the minotaur be able to change his aggressive ways? Notes: - The events of Fluttershy's aggression from Putting Your Hoof Down are flashed back to in this episode. Songs: Kindness - Sung by Fluttershy Subject - What kindness is, and all the things a pony can do for others. 24. Missing Smooze When the Smooze goes missing from Discord's dimension, Discord, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy set off to find it and encounter a surprising discovery. Notes: - The episode Make New Friends But Keep Discord is flashed back to in this episode. 25. Switchin' Around - Part 1 Magic in Equestria starts to go crazy, and the Mane 6 subsequently discover that the Switchy-Witchy Stone is gone from its cavern. Songs: I Have It All - Sung by Sapphire Radiance Subject - Sapphire Radiance's success. This song ends Part 1 26. Switchin' Around - Part 2 With the Princesses' and Mane 6's abilities switched, Sapphire Radiance culminates her plot to take Equestria for her own, and all seems lost, until Twilight discovers a side to Sapphire that may change everything. Notes: - When the Mane 6's powers are switched, Twilight receives Pinkie Pie's Pinkie Sense, Applejack gets Twilight's alicorn magic and wings, Rainbow Dash gets Rarity's magic, Pinkie Pie gets Rainbow Dash's wings, Fluttershy gets Applejack's strength, and Rarity gets Fluttershy's wings. Songs: Starting Anew - Sung by Sapphire Radiance, Princess Celestia and the Mane 6. Subject - Sapphire Radiance's reformation and new life. Holiday Special: My Little Pony Best Gift Ever Twilight Sparkle and her friends do a Hearthswarming Helper to get just one Hearth's Warming present for another pony, and they race all over Equestria to find the perfect gift.
