  1. Yes, but they didn't have cruel or nasty intentions, they just wanted to pay Gladmane back, it was not revenge. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with having self-serving motivations for helping others.
  2. I know! A Flim and Flam episode without Applejack is like a Discord episode without any magic or outfits! And about them being mean to Twilight when she's not even their enemy, in fact its not even that. Flim and Flam aren't even mean to their enemies anyway. Look at how warmly they always treat Applejack and her friends in their previous episodes. And they just act so evil to Twilight. Sure, they were always bad, but they aren't evil. And they're never cruel or forceful like they were to Twilight, they're just deceptive, and they actually have really nice attitudes.
  3. Oh, boy, where do I start? For starters, Put Flim and Flam back in character, their charming, positive, enthusiastic attutudes instead of being so nasty and cruel like Flim and Flam would never do. Put their tacky vocabulary back into its usual elaborate showpony style. Put their voices back into their normal bounce and super-fastness, and make them say stuff simultaneously and finish each others sentences like they are supposed to. Put the song's verses in tune, and change the lyrics so it sounds like a proper FlimFlam Brothers song. Replace Twilight and Rarity with Applejack and Fluttershy. Get rid of Starswirl and Neighsay. Get rid of that ridiculous University of Friendship plot, and make it a proper FlimFlam Brothers plot, as in a marketing scheme, or even better, them being the ones with the problem, and Applejack and Fluttershy having to help them solve it. Flim and Flam reform, or, even better, are not even the bad guys. Well, yeah, they did take over the resort, but that "screwing, hurting, ruining" thing really doesn't sound like Flim and Flam. They just wanted to do Gladmane some justice for what he did to them and the others, they weren't seeking vengeance. Flim and Flam have literally no sense of vengeance whatsoever, kind of like Discord.
  4. It still wasn't revenge, and yeah, it kind of was partly out of self-interest, but also it was to do the right thing. I mean, Flim and Flam could have just said no, and let Gladmane carry on making arguments because theirs was solved, but they chose to help AJ and Flutters expose him instead.
  5. Revenge is when someone does something horribly awful, "the action of hurting or harming someone", like you said. Payback is when someone gets rightful punishment for doing something bad. That's just called justice. Gladmane did bad, causing arguments between all his employees, and all Flim and Flam did was help them expose him for his lies and give him what he deserved. That wasn't revenge, that's just doing justice. Revenge and payback are two different things.
  6. Definitely. That's what MLP:FIM is all about. Teaching ponies how to do the right thing and care about others.
  7. Exactly. Payback. Not revenge. Revenge is when a good guy foils a bad guy's evil plot, and the bad guy makes a plan to do something horribly awful to them in revenge. Payback simply means doing justice and making sure people get what they desrve. Just because Flim and Flam's brand new, completely different characters in Friendship University completely contradict themselves from all their other episodes. They don't act like themselves, and they do things Flim and Flam would never do. It contradicts everything about them, so it doesn't tally, therefore it doesn't really count.
  8. I did hope for a few more Starlight-centre episodes, rather than just episodes where Starlight appears.
  9. Sure, they were on sour terms against each other when Gladmane tricked them into arguing, but that's not the same thing as holding a grudge or wanting vengeance. And I meant they hold no grudges against Applejack and her friends. They have no intent of getting her back after she exposed their plots. And obviously they wanted to help AJ and Fluttershy get even with Gladmane, but that wasn't revenge, it was just doing justice. Big difference.
  10. I know it would never work after Friendship University and The Washouts, but I mean that if we ignored the Season 8 episodes (like I do all the time), and just go on Flim and Flam's three previous episodes it could easily happen. As in, Friendship University would be replaced by a reformation episode, and the Washouts either be replaced or have had an alternate ending. Because Friendship University doesn't tally with the show's timeline, and so I don't think it really counted.
  11. I know it's a dynamic we haven't seen before, and it's fine for bad guys to temporarily help goodies but remain bad, but the point is, in Friendship University, it's like Flim and Flam never even helped goodies at all. It's not like they were reluctant to help AJ and Fluttershy, and it's not like they dislike Applejack and her friends or anything, so it would never just be like it never even happened. It just doesn't tally with the timeline, plus they act really evil in Friendship University and Flim and Flam are not evil, they are just bad.
  12. There is some truth in what you're saying, but you don't have to be unhappy about something to reform. Sometimes you can be perfectly happy, then open your heart to something new and then not want to lose it. Like Discord. He was perfectly happy, but then when Fluttershy befriended him, he realized he now had something he didn't want to lose. Flim and Flam and Lightning Dust have just not been put in the situation where they open their hearts to friendship yet. They are like Discord: they are not just characters who are naturally in the situation, they are characters that need to be put in the situation. Cause Discord was not twisted with jealousy or anything, he was just put in the situation of friendship and opened his heart to it. Flim and Flam are a lot like Discord: they have absolutely no sense of vengeance, jealousy or grudges, nor are they unhappy with anything, and just need to be put in the right situation to open their hearts to friendship. Like if Flim and Applejack got close, and then Flim didn't want to lose that by being a conpony. Or if Lightning Dust made friends with Rainbow Dash. Basically the same way as in Keep Calm And Flutter On.
  13. Because they're really terrific characters, and would make ever terrific-er good guys. If they're antagonists, the makers have to keep making them do bad stuff (e.g.Friendship University, the Washouts), which just ruins the fact that they are such terrific characters, because it's rubbish to watch Flim and Flam get their characters ruined and act all nasty and evil and keep losing. Lightning Dust too.
  14. I know some earlier songs did have blunt and bland lyrics, but what I am getting at is the ratio of creative lyrics to tacky lyrics has gone down a lot in Season 8. Like how there are, say, three or four bad episodes in each season, but in Season 8, it is practically the whole season. I'm just talking about majority, not necessarily every single song. I know a lot of the villains are villains because of insecurities and traumas and jealousy and that kind of stuff. But, for instance, Discord, was evil right from the beginning, and was just evil because that was who he was. He wasn't a villain because he didn't have any friends. He reformed because Fluttershy became his friend and made him realize that he didn't want to lose that. The same thing could easily happen with Flim and Flam or Lightning Dust.
  15. I mean "after Viva Las Pegasus", as in, they teamed up with Applejack and Fluttershy and made a great team. And in MLP, that is the kind of stuff that happens when a character should be reformed. And the "FLIM AND FLAM!" bit wasn't conniving or cheating, or scamming. They were just using their slyness and showpony attitudes to make something sound good, when actually it was just an empty theatre. But they didn't lie. The customers would get exactly what Flim and Flam promised them. It's just that Flim and Flam's showpony voices can make anything sound worth buying. And about them having no "internal desire to change", what about Discord? Or Princess Luna? Or Starlight Glimmer? They had absolutely no desire to change, either, and they're the three biggest reformed villains in the series.
  16. But what I'm saying is that Friendship University and the Washouts shouldn't have been. Flim and Flam would never have treated Twilight so cruelly, or done anything like blackmail. After Viva Las Pegaus, they are obviously characters who should be reformed, and Friendship University didn't tally with past episodes. And about Lightning Dust, she isn't just an antagonist, she is a former friend. Mlp is never a show about losing friends, it's about making friends and rekindling old friendships. If there's ONE antagonist in the show who should be reformed, it's her. There should have been a completely different episode in the place of Friendship University, since it's just so not something Flim and Flam would ever do, and The Washouts should have ended with Lightning Dust's reformation. And both Lightning Dust and Flim and Flam would certainly be better characters and benefit from reforming, because making friends and learning how to be better ponies is what MLP is all about. Look at Gilda, or Starlight, or Trixie, or Sunset Shimmer.
  17. I didn't say everything was facts, just some of them were. My opinion on Spike's wings, and how the episodes were really bad, were my opinions. Things like how characters don't act like themselves, and how a school of friendship contradicts the whole idea of the series, are facts. For instance, if Rainbow Dash started talking in a high country accent using "darned tootin'" and "ain't" and "plum tuckered", that would be a straight fact that Rainbow Dash's voice and vocabulary are not right, because that is not how Rainbow Dash is supposed to talk.
  18. I know, I never said it was. I never said everyone must agree with my opinions, I just said mine. Just like you said yours. I could very easily say the same thing to you. Problem?
  19. Season 6 is my second favourite season after Season 4, although Viva Las Pegasus is my favourite episode, and it is a Season 6 episode.
  20. Dragon Quest was a million times better than Father Knows Beast. D.Q. had a really interesting and brand new plot. F.N.B was just boring, repetitive and way too predictable.
  21. Flim and Flam showed no interest in cheating ponies at the end of Viva Las Pegasus, they just took ownership of the resort, and Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash weren't trying to one-up each other, they were friends. And I thought that Trixie, Starlight Glimmer, Gilda, Diamond Tiara, Discord and Nightmare Moon didn't deserve a redemption, but I was glad when they did. Flim and Flam and Lightning Dust are actually ahead, because Lightning Dust was one Dash's friend, and Flim and Flam teamed up with AJ and Fluttershy. So they should definitely be reformed.
  22. Awww, thanks! I've just gotten accustomed to Flim and Flam's professional showpony speech, and that just seemed like the perfect thing for them to say. And I agree, I do think Hasbro needs some better writers, and not to brag, but I like some of my episode ideas a lot better than the actual Season 8 ones. Thank you for compliment
  23. I know there are flaws in everything, but flaws in MLP in the past have been as trivial as timeline errors and improper layering. These ones are really big, and just ruin the show for me, ecspecially all the OOC characters. Also, I'm not talking about autism affecting my opinions, I'm talking about when something is not right, such as Discord and Flim and Flam's off vocabulary, or Spitfire's lunatic behaviour in The Washouts, or all the episodes that don't tally with previous episodes. That's not just opinions, they are straight facts.
