  1. I just missed a phone call and checked to see what the number was. I didn't recognise it and there was no message. So I did a little investigating and the results turned up that it belongs to a bunch of scammers that falsely accuse people of having unpaid debts and try to intimidate payment details out of you.

    Cute... Very cute... :unamused:

Yes. Wait, gold or chicken? Either way, I'm easy.

Btw that was a combo of real scam calls I've gotten in the past. ("IRS cops" may be my favorite).

    3. Once In A Blue Moon

      Once In A Blue Moon

I've had a few 'your computer is broken' calls that I've ignored, but my proudest call was when someone called to inform me that "Our records show that someone in your household has had an accident that wasn't their fault."

I didn't have anything better to do, so I decided to run with it, and asked (in an alarmed voice) "Oh goodness, really?"

What then followed was a good fifteen minutes of me acting absolutely convinced that there had been an accident and asking them for more details on it. When they were unable to provide any sort of details of this (nonexistent) accident, they asked if there had been an accident, and I authoritatively stated that their records showed that someone in my household had had an accident. And so on, with me accepting everything they said as absolute truth and them trying to weasel some personal details out of me (without any luck.) The fun you can have when you're unemployed...

There's a chap called James Veitch who's taken it quite a bit further.
